Lucas's POV:
"So is that why I'm immune to your compulsion? Because I have a pure soul?"
"That's what I'm guessing. I wasn't sure until I saw you with my own eyes. But I think this is definitely connected to your immunity." Ren answered with certainty.
I got the feeling this guy always made assumptions and choices on pure knowledge. Never taking a chance. A pretty straightforward kind of guy. Unlike his sister who had just been rolling her eyes in annoyance at every naive comment I made.
Not like I could help being so unknowledgeable with how the fact I just found out vampires were real just a few days ago.
This girl did not like me. It's not even like I did anything to her to make her hate me, well apart from existing. My mere presence annoyed this woman. She wasn't like that the first time I saw her, but now she hates me.
"So we keep this a secret, big dealio. Not like anyone would believe someone who said 'Hey theres this human who's immune to vampiristic powers.' They wouldn't care enough to go out to find him anyway." Layla commented in a sarcastic tone.
"Right we keep Lucas's immunity a secret. Can I count on you two?" Evan confirmed.
"Duh. we've been ancient friends for how long now?" Layla snickered.
"Of course. And I'll look into the situation some more privately, not to raise suspicion." Ren answered with a straight face, showing no emotion.
Everyone was going to keep my immunity a secret. With all sort of weirdoes out there, this was the best option.
The two siblings nodded and left. Leaving me and Evan alone. He still stood holding my hand. I didn't realize he still had a hold of me until he lifted my held hand to his lips and tenderly planted a kiss on the back of my hand.
I would've normally blushed at this small show of affection, but I have grown comfortable with these mischievous acts of his. It was so typical of him to bring my mind off the situation with a situation to make my blush.
I still blushed on the inside, but like I'd show him my embarrassment.
He pouted a little from my nonchalant expression. I chuckled at his face, and kissed his pouting lips, gaining a smile. I loved this. It was just so easy to be around him.
"Come on. I'm taking you out for the rest of the day."
"On a date?" I blushed.
" thats right a-"He stopped in realization of what I just said. "A date. Yeah! But let's keep it casual."
I chuckled at his excitement that shimmered in his eyes making them look like emeralds.
I got dressed into a more formal outfit than my pajamas. I wore a casual pair of Jean's, White shirt with a design on the back saying 'Surfs up', sunglasses and some white sneakers. I even added a complimentary scarf to cover the bandages on my neck.
"Looking stylish!" Evan commented on my outfit choice.
"However ditch the sunglasses. You won't be needing those."
" Huh? But the suns still up."
" Yea, but not for much longer."
"But.." I sighed in defeat, leaving them behind and styling my hair in replacement.
Evan looked just as hot wearing Jean's with a chain around the pocket, Black jumper and black sneakers. And of course he too styled his hair. Saying he was attractive was an understatement. He was Hawt!
No way he doesn't get loads of attention from all the ladies.
"Well you ready?"
"mmhm" I nodded in response.
