Lucas's POV:
A few days had passed since the incident and we were quickly getting settled back in with eachother.
Although my injuries on my arm had faded mostly, Evan still had this sad look on his whenever he saw them. But whenever I confronted him about it, trying to console him. He would laugh it off, but I could tell he was hurting deep down, beating himself up about it.
My body also still got fits of heat, not nearly as painful as what I had experienced back then, but it was a noticeable ache. I attempted to hide it the first time, but Evan saw right through me. It only made him worry more.
He brought me to Layla agian to see if she could do something, considering she is a doctor in her human part of her life. Unlike the lazy bum I'm dating who just steals money off people, she earns it.
She examined me and asked questions about my condition, however her knowledge on it was only what she had gathered from the conversation with Robert.
With nothing else we could do, I decided to tough it out. It wasn't so bad, it just happens during certain moments every once in a while.
Evan mentioned how he wanted to be alerted immediately whenever it occured so that he could be there for me. But it seems that I've just become a burden for him.
Although I had accepted my fate, Evan did not. He wanted to track down Robert and shake the answers out of him. So he did just that. He asked Layla to accompany him when he visited so she could understand the solution better.
With Ren being the one who managed to imprison Robert. Evan went for his permission too. He agreed although he had to accompany Us as well.
We got to outside the facility that was holding Robert, but Evan suddenly turned around to face me before we entered.
"I don't want you going in there with us. It's too dangerous and I want you here, out of his reach." He stated bluntly but as caring as he could.
Concern arose on my face. He doesn't want me to follow him down there. I mean it's not like I want to see Robert again but still... Could Evan handle that situation down there... without me. I know how easily he gets emotional when it's about me.
I held his hand and looked into his deep Emerald eyes. "Turn them red for a sec will ya?" I replied in a casual tone.
Evan seemed confused for a moment there but soon caught on and did as requested. His Emerald green colour faded into a piercing crimson red.
I looked deeper into his orbs. "Don't you get too riled up in there. Promise me you'll remain calm and return to me!"
I felt like I was looking deep within his sole whenever I saw his vampire eyes. They always revealed what he was hiding without fail.
Stunned from my request, he hesitated for a bit, but soon nodded, planting a kiss on my lips as they departed.
" And you two!" They all turned back around, halted in position, awaiting my words.
"Take care of Evan for me, aswell as yourselves!" I yelled, with my eyes watering abit.
They waved and smiled, before turning back around and continuing inside. Here I was telling Evan not to get emotional and I was about to cry." I'm such a hypocrite." I whispered to myself.
