Evan's POV:
I left Lucas outside. It made me feel 100% better about this situation now. Although I'm completely comfortable when he is beside me, I don't want he seeing that bastard again.
This facility we walked into was really high-tech. Lights and switches everywhere. Any room we entered required a passcode that Ren seemed to know off by heart.
Let alone him wanting to come with, I needed him to get through all these locks. I mean this had to be excessive. I don't think the strongest being on planet earth could get out of here. I suppose that put my mind at ease abit though. There was no escape for him.
"So.." Layla started. All attention on her now since we were walking in silence.
"You reccond he'll talk?"
I stayed silent for a bit and Ren answered before I could.
"Not easily. But we have ways." He spoke coldly. I haven't really seen much of the cold heartless side of these two. It was off putting, they were usually quite unique but easy going.
But I guess they needed to be stern for the upcoming confrontation we were gonna have.
We arrived outside the last door that stood between us and Robert.
I gulped down my pride for a second before we entered and simply said.
"I should thank you guys for all that you have done up untill now. I don't really know why you would bother to help me. I'm not exactly powerful or unique." I slightly dropped my head in shame, before it was lifted back up from a few simple words.
"Nonsense, you are our friend." They both spoke in unison. Ren ruffled my hair, causing me to gaze into his reassuring smile.
Layla grabbed my hand and rubbed it with her thumb. She smiled brightly.
These people were far too kind.
"Alright I'm ready now!" Pumping myself up with my arms, I headed in.
Our smiles instantly dissipated when we entered. The room was small, nothing inside but a criminal contained to a wall.
His chains were pure silver. This would've hurt any vampire, no matter their age or strength. I probably would've died from a touch of that silver piercing my skin. But he remained quite calm did Robert.
Like it was nothing. He smiled at us and welcomed us with open arms.
"Ahhh welcome, welcome all!" He cheered.
It was like he expected us to come.
"Ohh? but we are missing one, No?" His tone was so naive and innocent.
"Yes we are! we're missing that human. Luc-" I cut him off, slamming a fist beside his face against the wall. He didn't deserve to speak his name. I had forgotten how much I wanted this monster dead. He held a stunned expression.
Layla walked over, resting a hand on my shoulder to calm me. I stepped back, regaining my composure.
Ren cleared his throat and began to ask the questions.
"What exactly did you do to Lucas?" He spoke so calmly.
"Hmm?" He smirked at that question.
My blood begin to boil again.
This bastard has us wrapped around his little disgusting finger.
