Nine?

Mia

I stood outside the door, my head down. I was so nervous, but I couldn't wait to meet my new family. I hesitated before knocking on the door and waiting patiently. Several moments later, the huge oak door swung open, and there stood two guys around my age.

"Oh, hello. I'm guessing you're our new sister, yeah? I'm Zen," one of them said. He had stormy grey eyes and short white hair. He smiled and pulled me in for a hug. I smiled and hugged him back.

"Hi. My name's Zero, and I'm this idiot's twin," the other guy said. He had cropped black hair and icy blue eyes. He pulled me away from Zen's grasp and also gave me a hug. "You're really pretty, li'l sis."

"Uh, thanks. Nice to meet you, Zero, Zen. My name is Mia." They grinned and then pulled me inside before we started walking up the huge staircase to a landing. Zen insisted on carrying my luggage, whilst Zero led me up with his hand on the small of my back.

When we got there, we walked into the living room - from which you could also see the kitchen. The living room had velvet red sofas, a soft brown carpet and pale brown walls. It looked very cosy indeed. I stood beside Zen and Zero as they got the attention of some guys sitting on the sofas. I assumed these were the rest of my brothers.

"Hey, guys! Will you pay attention for once? Finally! Well, this is our new sister. Say hi!" Zero yelled. I blushed and smiled shyly, turning my attention to the five boys in front of me.

"Hello, little girl. Name's Yuzek," the tallest of them all said. He had pale blue hair which I guess he dyed, and dark blue eyes.

"Ignore him. He's just an arrogant prick," Zen whispered in my ear. I quickly averted my eyes to the floor after I realised that everyone had their eyes on me.

"Such a pretty little angel you are, aren't you?" I heard in my ear. I choked on a cough and turned my head to see another guy beside me. He had cropped black hair and eyes as green as a tree's leaves. "My name's Kai, but you can call me Senpai~." He winked.

I cringed a little and backed away slightly before looking anywhere but at him. "Nice to meet you, Kai," I said.

"Oh, she speaks?" A guy with dark brown hair and light green eyes spoke up. He stood behind Kai and smiled mischievously towards me. "I'm Kaname." He pushed Kai to the side before embracing me in a bear hug.

"Hello Kaname..." I breathed out, trying my best to breathe in oxygen. I wasn't really expecting such a warm welcome from my new brothers... Although, it seems to be a bit too much for me.

"I hope you know that this family needs you just as much as you need us, kitten. Okay?" Kaname whispered into my neck, his arms wrapped securely around my waist.

"Uh... sure..." I replied.

He let me go and smiled before walking away, dragging Kai with him. Now that I look closer, I assume Kaname and Kai are also twins. They look to be not that much older than me either, maybe a year or two.

Yuzek seemed to be the oldest. I'd guess that he's about five to ten years older than me.

There were two guys left. The one on the right stood up and smiled kindly at me. He had soft brown hair and dark brown eyes. "I'm Leo," he said, giving me a gentle hug. I smiled shyly and waved at him. He grinned before leaving the room. He was probably the nicest-seeming out of all my brothers.

The last one stood up to greet me. He was most likely the youngest of the herd, although he didn't seem more than five years younger than me. He had pale blue eyes and dirty-blonde hair. "I'm Lipo," he said, giving me a side hug. "I'm really excited to have a sister. Maybe you can tell off our brothers when they're being mean to me!" He was quite energetic.

"Of course," I giggled, patting his shoulder. He ran away to his room after a few minutes, something about calling the rest. I'm still finding it difficult to grasp that I have nine brothers.

"Let us take you to your room," Zero said. He carried my luggage and Zen showed me the way this time. We walked up two flights of stairs and ended up on a floor with two rooms.

"There are only five floors to our home, so you shouldn't be too worried about getting lost. And if you do, just go to the first floor, where the main area is. The rest of the floors are just our rooms and bathrooms, okay?" Zen explained. I just nodded.

"The first floor has the kitchen, living room and mini gym, in case you need to work out," Zero told me.

"The second floor is the one below us. It has two rooms - Yuzek's and Yuri's. You haven't met Yuri yet," Zen mentioned. I made an 'oh' expression before nodding.

"So is my room on the third floor?" I asked quietly.

Zen nodded. "Yeah, this floor."

I looked around and suddenly got curious. "So whose room is also on this floor?" I asked.

"Well... we hope you don't mind, but everybody was kinda excited and wanted to room with you... but then Mama and your dad decided that you can help look after our youngest brother..." Zero said awkwardly. I sensed there was more to what he said.

"Is that not okay..?" I questioned nervously. I guess Lipo's not the youngest then, but definitely the second youngest.

"Er... Futo is our... baby brother. He's only eight months old. He is not our half-brother," Zen explained, gesturing to me and himself. "Futo is also your step-brother. Your dad only proposed to our mama three months ago."

"That's okay. I don't mind. I really like babies, so I'm sure it'll be fun," I assured them. Zen and Zero both gave me giant grins.

"Thanks Mia," Zero said. I just smiled in return.

"On the fourth floor, the one above us, are Leo and Lipo's rooms. Second oldest and second youngest," Zen joked. I giggled.

"Above them on the fifth floor are still two rooms, but we share them. Me and Zen occupy one room, and Kai and Kaname occupy the other. We were, and still are, kinda attached to each other. So... yeah." Zero rubbed the back of his neck.

"If you need help with anything, you can just come see us, alright?" Zen said. I gave him a thumbs up before he led me to my room. Futo's was on the right, whereas mine was on the left.

When we entered the room, I smiled. There was a bed the size to fit two families, in the middle of the room, pressed against the wall opposite the door. The bed had dark red covers and black sheets. Every single wall in the room was a soft white colour, which made the room feel quite bright and airy.

On the left side of the bed, there was a bedside table with a few drawers beneath it. I could use them for my books and some clothes. On the right side of the bed, there was a huge mirror on the wall and a small desk under it, probably for things like jewellery and makeup - which I don't often wear.

The wall next to the bedside table (left-side wall) had a few empty shelves and a small table with a printer. Beside it sat a wooden work desk with a black leather swivel chair. The desk had an empty pencil pot and some baskets, and sections where I could put notes and other things in.

On the other side of the room (right side), there was a circular window and a window-seat, with black silk curtains. Beside it was a wardrobe for my clothes, and another door.

"What's that door for?" I asked Zen, pointing to the door.

"It's your en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom has one, but there's another separate bathroom on the first floor too." I nodded and thanked them before unpacking.

Two hours later

I finally finished unpacking, and the room was perfect! I sighed and sat down on the floor, a dark red carpet that felt extremely soft and silky.

I suddenly heard a wailing noise, so I got up and left my room. It was coming from Futo's room, so I assume he woke up from a nap - maybe that's why nobody let me see him earlier.

I walked to his room and opened the door. In the middle of the room sat a white crib. Toys were scattered across the floor and crying was heard from the crib. Avoiding the toys, I walked to the crib and looked in.

"Aw," I cooed. Inside the crib was a baby boy holding onto the wooden railings. He had bright blue eyes and blonde hair that I expected would become a light brown when he's older.

I picked him up and rocked him gently in my arms. He soon fell silent, except for the occasional gurgle here and there. He was sucking his thumb and playing with my hair with his free hand.

I giggled. Futo was an angel!

I carried him down to the main floor, and towards the kitchen. I didn't want to risk him crying if I set him down, so I poured some milk in a pan before putting it on the stove, then waited.

Whilst waiting, I walked up and down the kitchen while rocking Futo, keeping him calm.

When the milk was warm enough, I poured it into a baby bottle I snatched from Futo's room and walked towards the living room. I sat down on the sofa, turned on the TV to a channel with baby cartoons, and fed Futo his milk.

Once he was done, I walked up and down the room with Futo on my shoulder, waiting for him to burp. As soon as he did, I cheered for him before sitting on the sofa. I put Futo on the floor and grabbed some toys from his room quickly before returning to him. He was such a darling baby!

About an hour later, I heard a lock turning from the hall. I guessed one of my brothers went out and is home now.

Only moments later, I saw three people coming into the living room. None of which I knew.

"Shit!" one guy said when he saw me. He had blue eyes and dark brown hair. I'm assuming this was my other brother, Yuri. The other two guys, I didn't know. I frowned when he swore; couldn't he see the baby?

"I'm sorry. You must be Mia, my new step-sister, correct?" Yuri asked nicely. I nodded shyly and continued playing with Futo.

"That's your sister, man? She is so cu- " One of the guys, Yuri's friends I presume, was cut off by Yuri hitting him on the head.

"Yes, that is my sister. I forgot she was supposed to be here today, but because she is, you guys should leave," Yuri said.

My eyes widened. "I-It's okay! They don't have to leave because of me," I stammered in nervousness. "I-I'll just take Futo to his room. He should be going to sleep soon anyway," I blushed, picking up Futo and rushing up the stairs. I could hear Yuri yelling after me but I ignored him and dashed into Futo's room.

Ten minutes later, and he was fast asleep. "Sleep well, baby," I whispered before kissing his forehead and leaving the room as quietly as possible. I left the door open a little in case he wakes up in the middle of the night, so I could hear him.

I went to my room and put my phone on charge before changing into my night clothes, which was a silk tank top and shorts. I got everything ready for bed, and checked on Futo one last time to make sure he was still asleep since it had started raining outside.

When I re-entered my room, I jumped before making mumbling "Yuri? Wh-What are you doing here?"

"I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable before." Yuri was watching me intensely, whereas I cast my eyes to the floor.

"It's okay, really," I said shyly. I cringed a bit when he hugged me; because I was so much shorter than him, my face was buried in his chest and his face was in my hair.

"Thanks Mia. I guess you're tired; well, off to bed, you." Yuri led me to my bed and tucked me in. When he got up to leave, I gripped onto his hand.

"Please stay until I fall asleep. The rain keeps me up unless someone is with me at night," I told him quietly. He just nodded and lay down beside me.

Minutes later, I was gone.

Yuri

I brushed a stray piece of hair away from her smooth skin. She was adorable, a tiny angel in our world. I felt her snuggle into me, seeking warmth from my body. It made me smile.

I kissed her forehead and sighed happily. Next thing I know, Kai and Zen rush into her room.

"Hey Yuri," Zen said at the same time Kai said, "How come you can sleep in her bed?"

I smirked at them. "Angel can't sleep when it rains," I told them.

Kai climbed into the bed along with Zen. Soon Kaname and Lipo joined us, then Leo and Yuzek. Zero came with a sniffling Futo in his arms, to which he placed in the arms of Mia. As soon as Mia felt Futo in her arms, she opened her eyes sleepily.

"What are you... Never mind," she yawned. She looked down at Futo in her arms and smiled. She pressed a kiss to his cheek before holding him against her chest and rubbing up and down his back. Soon she and Futo were both asleep.

I smiled and noticed the rest of my brothers fell asleep too. Apart from Yuzek.

"Go to sleep, Yuri," Yuzek whispered. I nodded and let myself be pulled under.

Yuzek

As soon as I heard Yuri's even breathing, I crawled on top of Mia and pressed a kiss to her head. She sighed before snuggling further into Kai, who was sound asleep behind her. Immediately, he wrapped his arms around her and burrowed his face into her neck.

I smiled. "You are so precious, Mia," I whispered. I kissed her cheek and went to move but suddenly couldn't. I looked to my side to see Leo's arms around my waist and his face in Kaname's chest. I chuckled and removed his arms before sliding back into my place behind Yuri. Soon, I was asleep too...
