Chapter 11
It was finally the day! The day where Amariyah turned 13. She woke up as soon as she heard her alarm, showered and got ready for school. She enjoyed having her birthday at school as she got to spend the day with her friends and celebrate her day. Once her mom awoke she quickly went to sing happy birthday to her first born. Moments like these made Amina a proud mom, and proud of herself as she was able to raise, not one, but three children basically by herself.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Amariyah, happy birthday to youuuuuuu!" They all sang making Amariyah blush. "Thank you mommy" she thanked. After all the morning happy birthdays and all the messages, Amariyah met up with Nicki and they walked to the bus stop. On the way to lessons, Amariyah received a lot of birthday wishes as she knew quite a lot of people. But realistically she just wanted to have break and lunch to hang out with her friends.
When it was break time Ria gave Amariyah a bag full of little gifts that she bought her. It had a card with pictures of them two, a few hair accessories and other little girly things. "Omg Ria!!" Amariyah exclaimed, "you didn't have to do all this for little old me" she said laughing. "But I wanted to, you're my sister forever" Ria replied. When Ria said that it warmed Amariyah's heart as she had never had a close bond like this, so she finally felt like she belonged.
Then all of a sudden all of Amariyah's friends ran up to her in a crowd, circling around her, making her feel under pressure and anxious. "Omg! Amariyah, guess whatttt" Niah said hyperactively. At this point Amariyah's mind was blank so she couldn't think for the life of her. "Girl I have no clue so u better just tell me!" She said getting irritated at the fact that they were all prolonging the news. "So you won't believe this... but Josh got you a birthday present!!!" Niah squealed holding onto Amariyah's shoulders whilst jumping up and down. Amariyah was just stuck for words because she didn't know how to act or respond. This just made her think that he obviously really likes her.
She just stood there with a shocked look on her face but to her friends it looked more like a disgusted one. "What's wrong?" Mya questioned. "What? Nothing! I just didn't think that he would get me a present" Amariyah responded. "Well here he comes so u better be nice and thankful" Charlotte nagged. "Nice and thankful? What a wasteman like I'm not nice all the time" Amariyah mumbled. And by the time she was done talking she was right infront of Josh. Now at this point her anxiety took over her and she couldn't seem to get her words out.
"Happy birthday. And also I forgot to get a bag but I have ur presents" Josh told her. "It's fine honestly. Thank you aswell you didn't have to get me a present." After he handed her the present they hugged and went to their lesson.
The rest of the day went on hastily. And the end of school came to halt. Amariyah and Nicki met up again and ready to get on the bus. Once they reached home, they showered and cleaned themselves up and went to the park to have a chilled off evening. The rest of the day was with Amariyah and Nicki vibing to music and taking videos. It wasn't going to anything special as Amina was planning to have a bbq on the Saturday for both Amariyah's and Kyreese's birthday.
As the night came to an end amysettled down in bed and thought about the amazing day she had. She got to receive presents and phone calls and she got to see her friends, she couldn't ask for a better day. But she really couldn't wait for Saturday to just party and have fun.
