That Someone (II)

12:10 P.M.

San Miguel's Hospital.

June 6th, the year 2018. Wednesday.

Carmela knows what was happening in Katrina's mind. She can read everyone's thoughts by looking at the movement of their eyes. Also, the way she expressed her emotions.

'She cannot read my mind. She cannot. Katrina knows nothing about it.' Carmela whispered in her thoughts.

"By looking at your eyes, I know you are hiding something from us." Katrina muttered while squinting her eyes. Carmela got baffled and still locked her gaze. Katrina was so eager to know what Carmela was hiding.

"Katrina, I don't have---"

A flushing sound that came from the last cubicle of the comfort room that was next to the wall cut Carmela off. She looked at Katrina and saw that she's surprised.

'Who the hell would eavesdrop on us?' Carmela asked herself about her thoughts. The door of the cubicle opened, and a nurse dressed in all white clothes emerged from it. She tied her hair up into a bun, and stood at medium height. Carmela and Katrina were much taller than her.

She glanced at us and apologized. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hear what you two are talking about."

She looked at the two of us and widened her eyes as she recognized Katrina Fajardo. The nurse pointed at her and stuttered, "Y-you a-are Katrina F-Fajardo, r-right?"

"Hmm, yes I am," Katrina voiced out, lifting her chin and standing straight. She smiled lovely.

"Can I t-take a picture with you?" The nurse stammered.

She retrieved her cell phone from the pockets of her uniform while approaching them. She fixed her gaze on Katrina.

She was her fan, and she looked much more beautiful in person.

Katrina was wearing a simple magenta crop top and jeans. She felt ashamed having some supporters take a picture with her.

"Yeah, sure," Katrina smiled as the nurse grinned and walked beside her. The nurse held out her cell phone towards Carmela and ordered, " Can you take a picture of us, ma'am?"

Carmela cracked her mouth slightly, thinking that a nurse was commanding her. She agreed though after.

She picked up the cell phone from the nurse and opened it. She pressed the camera button as the two posed in front of it. Katrina put her shoulders around the nurse, bent down slightly, and smiled.

Carmela clicked the button and captured three pieces of pictures. The nurse will be happy with it. After the picture taking, the nurse was blushing and unable to contain her smile.

"Thank you so much, Katrina. I am your number one fan," the nurse blushed beet red.

"It's been a pleasure, ma'am," Katrina beamed towards her. The nurse nodded and said that she will be back on her duty. She left the door while whistling happily. Katrina chuckled and beamed at her reflection in the mirror.

Carmela looked at her, pointed out, "Another fan of yours."

"Yeah. It's great to hear those words from her. I never knew that there are a few left after my scandal yesterday. I thought I lost everyone," Katrina remarked. She was applying some coral lip tint on her moisturized lips.

Carmela smiled quietly, informing her best friend, "Of course. The beauty and the genuine talent of you, everyone will support you no matter what, Katrina."

Katrina shifted her eyes towards Carmela and laughed while her eyes said otherwise. The tears brimmed, but it never fell.

"Still, if I hadn't done it, I wouldn't have to say sorry to everyone," Katrina spoke while smiling sadly. Carmela thought of losing everyone she dearly loved. Her child, Hannah, and her aunt Martha. Her friends blessed her and stayed strong for 9 years.

"Kat, it doesn't matter right now. You know, you just have to control your emotions. I strongly suggest that you have to schedule an interview with the press so your fans will know your side." Carmela explained. Katrina cackled.

"It's no use. They are turning their backs on me. Everyone hates me for who I am," Katrina scoffed while still looking at her reflection.

Carmela sighed and confided, "Katrina, you do not differ from us. In our group, you are still the strong and nasty girl we met at Gustin University when we were in our sophomore year."

Katrina glanced at her and grinned.

"Thank you for being here with me, Carmela. Even if I was born with this kind of attitude, you accepted me. You didn't even doubt it," Katrina mumbled. The sadness in her tone was clear.

"We are to help and protect one another, Katrina, no matter what," Carmela huffed.

Katrina picked up her Chanel bag, slung it, and ended. "Let's go back. Your ex-boyfriend is waiting for you, and here we are, doing some drama in the hospital's comfort room."

"Oh, it's not me. Who is the one that wants to do some drama even in a public place?" Carmela retorted back.

"Let's go," Katrina giggled as she grabbed Carmela's arm and dragged her outside of the comfort room. When they were walking towards the hallway, Carmela teased Katrina.

"Why are you so excited to go back to Xian's room?" Carmela asked.

Katrina chuckled, "Maybe you are the one who's excited."

"No, why would I be?"

"Really? Carmela, let me remind you that your ex-boyfriend is there. A bit of concern might nag in your mind right now, eh?" Katrina asked. Carmela opened her mouth to say anything, but she closed it as soon as she realized she's worried about Xian.

"Carmela, confess it. You are so damn worried," Katrina bragged, halting at room #307 and crossing her arms over her chest.

Carmela nodded, told off, "Yeah. I'm worried. I'm not like a stone who doesn't feel emotions."

Katrina smirked and opened the door to Xian's room. Carmela rolled her eyes and entered behind her. Margo looked up and saw the two. Katrina closed the door gently. Her eyes darted to the couch and saw that the two managers left without notice.

"By the way, Manager Maci and Manager Ines left because of urgent matters. Manager Maci said that you should text her Katrina after you got home later tonight." Margo informed Katrina. She nodded while sitting down on the soft couch.

"Thank you, Margo, for reminding me," Katrina replied. Margo smiled and stood up from her chair. While she was digging through a large bag, Margo realized the two didn't have something for lunch.

She picked up her wallet and faced the two, saying, "Do you want something for lunch? It's on me."

Katrina and Carmela looked at her.

"Anything. It's on me. You two have to eat," Margo added.

"Uh... egg sandwich would fine for me, Margo,"

"What about you, Carmela?"

"Same as Katrina, Margo. Thank you."

Margo nodded and reminded, "Okay. Guard Xian, for a moment, I'll be back quickly."

Margo fled the room as Katrina smirked at Carmela.

"You are so worried, huh?" Katrina teased.

"Stop it, Katrina. I will tease you to Matthew," Carmela mumbled while looking at Xian's body.

"Hey! Don't tease me."

"Why? Why should I not?"

"It's not funny, you know! You guys always tease us!"

"Why? Are you affected by what Matthew will say to you?"

"He's our friend!"

"What's being friends with him? It's normal for us to fall with another person. He's not your sibling or anything, he's another person who you may like, Katrina."

"It's not gonna happen."

"Why?" Carmela asked. Katrina hesitated to answer.

"Why? Why is it impossible to be with Matthew, Katrina?" Carmela urged.

Katrina's breath quickens as she stutters, "B-because..."

"Because you have a suitor?" Carmela asked while scrutinizing Katrina's face. Katrina looked at her with shock and gasped.

"It's... It's not like I won't say it to you guys. Not now," Katrina breathed.

"Katrina, you can say it to us. We won't judge you," Carmela told.

"It's because... I feel awkward with Matthew. He treats me like a special girl," Katrina stammered.

"Hm, I see. Matthew is fond of you. By the way, may I ask what his name is?" Carmela asked.

"It's Tristan."

Carmela raised her eyebrows and said, "The name is so handsome."

"Hey, he's mine. You have Xian and also Xyrelle," Katrina teased. Carmela's smile vanished and looked down.

"The two of them aren't mine," Carmela concluded. Katrina nodded and looked at Xian. In a minute of silence, Katrina's cell phone beeped. She took it out of her bag and opened it. She saw Tristan's text on it and blushed beet red.

"Carmela, I should go. Tristan texted me and he will take me on a date today." Katrina could not contain the butterflies in her stomach.

"Okay. Enjoy your date," Carmela smiled. Katrina nodded and stood up from her seat. She slung her bag over her shoulders and waved to Carmela once more when she was at the door. When Katrina left, Carmela's alone in the room. While she was waiting for Margo, she sat down on the chair beside the bed and scrutinized Xian's body. His breath was slow, and his vital signs were fine.

Carmela thought of the one who brought him here. Why would it be Xyrelle? Is it a coincidence? When she was deep in thought, someone opened the door. When she looked into it, Carmela gasped and stood up, surprised to see someone standing over there.
