Ghost's POV
30 minutes before the chase
I knocked on the door and waited for Villan to open the door. He opens the door and lets me and the team inside.
"I'm surprised you came to see me." said Villan
"We need answers." I said
"Oh, answers to what question?" he asked
"Do you know anything about NHEO?" I asked
"Well, they were all killed and disbanded after your parents killed them." replied Villan
"Is it a possibility that they're back?" asked Phantom
"I don't know, I don't think so." said Villan
"What about these symbols." I took out the pictures of the symbols we found back at the factory.
"These symbols huh." Villan takes the pictures and studies them, "You're going to have to find someone who's Marlyean."
"Dammit." mumbled Hacker
"When NHEO was founded and all that, did they test on human subjects?" asked Kit
"Well, Russia got reports of missing children, mostly in their teenage years. Their bodies were never found, not a single trace of them found, it was like they were erased from this world." replied Villan
"Missing children, NHEO, Marlyean?" questioned Phantom
"The warrior program?" asked Bomber
I turned and looked at him.
"I mean they used children as a subject and they're Marlyean." said Bomber
"If that's a possibility then we have to ask someone Marlyean." said Marksman
"Send the pictures to Eren and tell him to ask Annie, Reiner or Bertholdt what that means." I instructed
"And Ajax." said Villan, "Your parents, they were killed by an unknown force for sure you're mother took them down but the bodies were never found."
"How do you know if my mother took down the hostiles?" I asked
"First of all we're talking about your mother and she's capable of taking down anyone. Second, the blood stains and all that found at the scene were mostly someone else's not your mother." said Villan
"So you think NHEO is behind all of this?" I asked
"Maybe, it's a possibility." said Villan
Gunshots were heard from outside the house. Screams and cries of civilians running away filled the air outside.
"Sir, it's a whole battlefield outside." said Marksman
"Who is it?" I asked
"The entire world." replied Marksman
"What do you mean the entire world?" asked Phantom
"Literally every special forces and intelligence services are out there fighting each other to get their hands on us." said Marksman
"That means Recon must be here too." I said, "Sir, we'll escort you out of here."
"No, I'm staying here." he replied
"Sir, Recon is going to kill you if you don't answer her questions." I replied
"I'm fine, you go I'll buy you some time." said Villan
"But sir-"
"Go that's an order!" he cuts me off
I didn't want to leave him here, he's most likely going to die, no, he's going to be killed for sure.
"Understood sir." I replied barely a whisper

Eren's POV
3 hours later
"We lost them." sighed Hitch
I feel a vibration in my pocket so I take out my phone and on the screen it was a text notification from Kit. I open it up and he sent me a picture with some symbols on it, he also sent me a text message reading, "It's most likely Marlyean language, ask anyone who's Marlyean."
"Hey Annie." I called out
She comes over and I show her the photo.
"Can you read that?" I asked
"No, why, where did you get that?" she asked
"I'll explain later." I replied, "Hey Bertholdt."
"Yea?" he responded
"What does this mean?" I asked
"Never seen that kind of symbol, is it supposed to Marlyean?" he questioned as he looked at the photo, "Ask Reiner, but I doubt he'll know."
I asked Reiner but he too didn't know the symbol.
"Let's display it on a larger screen." said Reiner
I handed my phone to Marlowe who plugged it into a computer and then the photo appeared on a bigger screen.
"Oh wait, those symbols." said Ymir
"You know it?" I asked
"Well before I was a titan for 60 years, the Marlyeans used that as their writing system." said Ymir, "It says something like, to be born again."
"What is that supposed to mean?" asked Mikasa
"I'm not hundred percent if I'm right or not." said Ymir
"But there is a possibility right Ymir?" asked Historia
"Yes your majesty." replied Ymir
"Stop calling me that!" said Historia in an embarrassed tone
Ymir chuckled but I was so confused with what that meant.
"To be born again?" repeated Hange
"Some riddle this is." said Levi, "Where's Erwin?"
"In his office." replied Marco
"Where did you get the photo?" asked Annie
"Kit sent it to me." I replied
"Kit? Where did he get it?" asked Annie
"I have no idea." I replied
"Send him the response and from there we'll track his phone." said Levi
I grabbed my phone and sent the text message. I waited a couple of minutes until her replied, "Are you sure?"
"I got his location." said Hitch
"Where?" asked Levi
I quickly responded and went to see Hitch's computer screen.
"Somewhere in South Africa." replied Hitch
"That's where Marley used to be." said Bertholdt
"Let's go." said Levi
"Is Recon coming with us again?" asked Connie
"Yes, she'll be on missions with us." replied Levi
We left the chambers and got on a two helicopters, Recon was already waiting on one of them.
Ghost's POV
"It's so damn hot here." complained Juggernaut
I walked down the streets where it used to be a Marlyean city. Now it just looks like a whole African country.
"Look for anything that looks like those symbols, ask people here too." I said through my earpiece.
"Hacker how's your shoulder?" asked Kit thought the earpiece
"I'll live." replied Hacker
I walked around the crowded streets, asking Marlyeans who currently live there if they know about this symbol. Not a single one of them knew what the hell it was.
"No one fucking knows." said Marksman
"Are you even sure it's Marlyean?" asked Javelin through the earpiece
"It is, I swear I saw it on the intel we got." replied Hacker through the earpiece, "But I also remember it saying that it was used long time ago at least 70 years ago. And later they got rid of it."
"Colonel I got a message from Eren, he figured out what it says." said Kit through the earpiece.
"Everyone regroup back at the van." I ordered
I went back to the truck and Kit handed me his phone.
"To be born again." I read out
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Bomber
"It's not possible to be born again." sighed Hacker
"He said Ymir figured out which makes sense cause she was born 60 years before Eren and the others." said Kit
"But what does it mean to be born again?" asked Javelin, "It doesn't mean that they're going to bring back the dead right?"
"Like zombies? I don't think so." replied Hacker
"For now, this is a mystery that we have to figure out." I said, "Let's get moving."
I enter the driver seat with Marksman in the passenger.
"So where are we headed too?" asked Marksman
"Beats me, that line is striking any idea in my head." I replied
"What about Kit's father?" asked Marksman
"I doubt he'll know. Plus that symbol was hidden, there has to be a reason why." I replied
"Then where too?" asked Marksman
"A Marlyean library." I said
I started driving to the closet library there was and luckily, it was one of the big libraries. I parked the van and entered the library. We split off and started searching the shelves.
"Why are you taking out religious books?" asked Phantom
"Cause the line was most likely related to religion, Marlyean religion." I replied
"I see." replied Phantom
I flipped through the papers but found nothing. I swapped books but I still didn't find anything related to the symbols.
"I got nothing." I said to Phantom
"Same here." she replied
"Anyone got anything?" I asked through the earpiece.
"Nothing here sir." replied Kit
"Nothing here as well." replied Marksman
"I got nothing but I do have eyes on Recon and Levi's squad outside looking for us." said Hacker
"How did they find us?" asked Kit
"Probably with your phone." I replied, "Everyone get back to the van."
We exit the library and I got in the back of the van where we had all our gear and weapons. I started to load my weapon and cock them, getting ready for a firefight. I got to the front of the van and started to drive it away from the library.
"Thinking about it, Recon is leading them but wouldn't that leave Eldia open for an attack?" asked Marksman
"That's her decision. And plus, she's dressed up as the old Recon." I replied
"Which makes it a bit harder for me to kill her." said Marksman
"I guess you're right about that." I replied
"Yea I know that but why does it always have to be her." I sighed
"Look man, you have kids back home leave the killing to me." said Marksman
"There's no way I'm letting you do that." I replied
"You can't leave Phantom and your kids alone." he replied
"I know that, but if I can't kill her, I'm basically going to kill Phantom and my kids." I replied
"What do you mean?" asked Marksman
"Recon is capable of killing anyone without any sympathy or mercy. She'll kill my kids if I don't kill her first." I said
"Look honestly, what if she's in the right this time?" asked Marksman
"What do you mean?" I asked
"American scientists, Sentinels disbanded, sounds like something's going on in our government, not Russia's or China's or any other country." said Marksman
"You think we were set up by our own government?" I asked
"Not a government, but something else." said Marksman
"We'll figure it out, we just have to take it step by step." I said
"We haven't even taken the first step." said Marksman
"I know." I sighed
I kept driving while talking to Marksman until someone nearly hit us with their car.
"Damn drivers." I whispered
I looked into the cars window and immediately I reversed the truck and started driving backwards.
"It's them!" I yelled
I swerved the van and started to drive away. Recon started driving after me so I stepped harder on the gas pedal.
"Dammit, Marksman take the wheel." I said
I opened the door and jumped out and started tumbling across the concrete street. I used my legs and stopped myself from tumbling. I quickly took out my pistol and shot Recon's tires slowing down the car. That's when Recon also jumped out of her car and started running after me.
I ran through the crowds and into a building and started running, Recon behind me shooting at me. I pull out a grenade and drop it on the stairs so it can buy me some time. The grenade explodes and the stairs crumble but I should have known that wasn't a good idea. Recon wall runs for a good 2 seconds and lands and the staircase again.
I got to the roof and started running across it, jumping from roof to roof. Recon was getting close so I slid across the roof and fell off and crashed into a room, glass shattering. I quickly rolled and started running around the building trying to lose Recon, but Recon was like a fucking wolf sniffing my tracks and hunting me down.
"You can't run forever!" yelled Recon behind me
I pulled out my pistol and turned around to shoot but she wasn't there.
'Where the fuck did she go?'
That's when a bullet hit me in the leg and I fell down to the ground. I winced in pain as I grabbed my bullet wound and put pressure on it so that the blood doesn't flow out. I heard footsteps next to me and I saw Recon pointing her pistol at me.
"It's been long, Ajax." greeted Recon, "5 long years."
I tried to quickly grab my pistol off the floor but she kicks it away before I was able to grab it and kicked my face.
"Not even a greeting." sighed Recon
I kick the gun out of her hand and swiped her legs off the floor. She falls down and I kick her away and roll backwards but when I get up she push kicks me against a wall. She does a back kick but I quickly dodged it, then I jumped off the wall and using the same leg and I jumped off the wall with, kicked her in the face. She stumbles back so I round house kicked her in the face but she blocks it and kicks the bullet wound on my other leg. I wince in pain as she punches me in the face twice. I block her third punch but she grabs that arm and flips me over her shoulder. She then kicks my head but I grab it, put one of my legs behind the leg she was standing with and tripped her. She falls to the ground so I quickly jump towards my gun and aimed it at her, but she was gone.
I get up and hide myself in a room and quickly wrapped my leg with some cloth I found in the room.
'Greetings my ass, your greeting wasn't even nice.'
I quickly left the room and started running ignoring the pain in my leg.
"Sir where are you!" yelled Kit through the earpiece
"In a building 3 blocks south of the library." I replied
"We're pinned down by the Eldians and we can't even kill them!" yelled Kit
"I'm on my way, I'll get a new van so get ready to board any minute." I replied
"Yes sir!" he replied
I ran out down the hallway and I saw Recon at the end of it so I quickly hid in a room and waited until Recon ran pass me so I left and exit the building. I could hear gunshots ringing in the distance and I police cars zoomed pass me.
"Kit where are you?" I asked through the earpiece
"200 meters from your position." said Kit
"Hang in there I'm coming." I said
I ran towards a truck and quickly emptied out the back and got into the drivers seat. I searched for the key but it wasn't there so I took out my knife and opened up the ignition lock and started hot wiring it until the car started.
I drove towards the gunshots, crashing into cars and stands while people started moving out of the way. I got to the shooting sight and crashed my way to my team. My team started getting onto the truck and I noticed that Kit was hit in the shoulder. I look to who was shooting and I saw that it was the police and the Eldians.
I quickly reversed the truck and left the sight as the Eldians were busy defending themselves from the police. I quickly turned the truck around and headed out of the town.
"What happened to Kit?" I asked
"Shoulder wound, Sasha shot him in." replied Marksman as he was breathing hard.
"We have to get out of here." I said
"Where too?" asked Marksman
