A dragon and a fairy

But the enchanting greenery was not what was most shocking to Hugo.

[That's a real dragon!] Hugo was pleasantly surprised.

He stared wide-eyed, mouth agape at the humongous creature that was within his sights.

At the other end of the enchanted garden lay a vast aquamarine crystal dragon, probably about a hundred meters long, fast asleep. The dragon's scales gleamed in the sunlight and sparkled with an icy flickering splendor that made it look like a living kaleidoscope.

Hugo could hear the deep thrumming as wisps of smoke or probably steam emerged from the dragon's jaws and nostrils whenever it breathed.

[It's most likely that this dragon is a dual fire and frost casting creature like those in legends.] Hugo concluded. He had read about the possibility of similar mystical beasts existing in one of his books.
