In a well-concealed cave in the Dark Forest, Matriarch Bianca sat cross-legged on a black runic-mat hovering a few meters above the ground. To an observer, she would appear to be deeply immersed in meditation. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. Bianca was surveilling a huge fraction of the expansive Dark Forest with her powerful esper sense.

Before the test, the forest had been sectioned off into three separate parts. Bianca had volunteered to monitor the central section, the domain of the Dark Forest's beast kings.

A small disturbance suddenly showed up in her esper sense web. Barely perceptible spatial ripples momentarily propagated from a point some miles away from her position. They were focused in the exact same way one would expect from a triggered escape talisman depositing someone in a new locality. She immediately pivoted her attention to the area to investigate the anomaly.
