His past (Part 1)

AUTHOR'S POV:

Yuvi was driving and Pari was in the passenger seat.

"Yuvi did you inform mom about Karthick's stay?" Pari asked, turning towards him.

"Yeah! But did you inform Karthick?" He asked her as he knows she didn't.

"Ouch! No, I will call him now" She facepalmed herself and dialed his number.

"Hello! Karthick"

"Hey! Pari"

"Karthi did the doctor say anything about discharge?" She asked him.

"Yeah! They told I can leave in an hour and also said you paid the bill"

"Oh! Okay. I will send my driver to pick you up from the hospital you directly go to our house and mom or dad will show you where to stay"

She directly went to the matter.

"Hey! It's okay I will go to my apartment, You know I am fine I can manage by myself" He said.

"Karthi I am not that heartless person to leave my brother to suffer alone. Please! Come and stay with us" She insisted.

"Okay! I will stay there, I will come there, after dropping off Zara" He said.

"Yeah! Reach safe, if anything is needed just give a call. I think I will not be home tonight myself and Yuvi are going out!" She said.

"Okay! Be safe with him, have your pistol right?" He asked in a low voice.

"Yeah!" That's all she said.

"Bye then"

"Bye see ya later," She said and ended the call. She fell into deep thoughts.

"Where can we eat?" Yuvi broke her trance.

"Anywhere maybe some fast food is enough for me" She replied.

"So can we go to the burger corner?" He asked.

"Yeah!" She said.

They reached and grabbed a two-seater table in a corner of the small fast food stall.

Yuvi came back with two cottage-cheese burgers; there prevailed a silence between them whereas their surrounding was buzzing with busy people.

They paid the bill and excited from there, the car drive was again filled with silence.

They directly went to their room and flopped on the bed.

Pari was in his embrace her head on his chest his hands circled her shoulder. His other hand below his head.

He was just staring at the ceiling whereas she was staring at the balcony window.

Pari decided to break the silence.

"Yuvi!"

"Hmm!" He just hummed.

"Are you hiding something from me?" She asked not looking at him.

He was still staring at the ceiling.

"Tell me Yuvi, are you?" She asked but this time she looked at his face which now was emotionless, unlike his nature.

"Tell me who told you and till what you know," He asked her, he knows definitely that it was Sid but he wanna know till which she knows.

" That day when I went to Sid's college to speak about their marriage, I laid a condition to him and that time I asked about your behavior change then he said.

AUTHOR'S POV:

" But there is a condition!" She stated.

"What now?" He frowned.

" Actually! You know our business right? I don't know till when dad could manage everything so I want some potential people to take over after him, already our company is merged with Yuvi's but still, he can't look after it alone.

I cannot support him in business I can but cannot give enough support, Deepthi she is totally not interested in business and now you know there's no one to look after it. Dad wants you to take over him, that's the only thing he asks. Will you accept it?"

"No! How can I directly go and take over? It's just ridiculous. People will speak shit about me. How can I? It will crush my self-respect. I can't do this" He said.

"I know Sid! But don't think like that, people speak for their happiness they will always speak. And I know you have a share in the company Yuvi is managing so please take it like you are buying our shares. Pretty please can't you just do it for Deepthi? Please!!" she asked.

" Okay!!" He said with a long sigh.

"Thank you! Now it is about yuvi. Actually, I see a huge difference in Yuvi's behavior at first he was quiet but now totally opposite to it. He looks like a reserved person but somehow I know he is not.

I feel it he behaves differently like he lost something, always I can see a dejected nostalgia in his eyes. He is always dependent on me. I can always observe a swirl of grief in his eyes. Does he have any problems? " She asked.

"Yeah, he has a problem. Actually, he was not who you see today, the vulnerable, the silent, the moody. He was an athlete! He was a runner. Running was his passion, he loved his passion he loved it more than anything; he even had some records he was very charming and the bubbly type; the place where he is will be lively. He was our college heartthrob and everyone in our college know him he was our Students General secretary.

Everything was well and good till that happened. (He heaved a sigh, after a minute of silence he resumed narrating the incident) He was selected for representing our state in National Athletic Championship (NAC) it was our final year. The championship was for the selection of athletes to represent the country for the International championship. He did everything well he studied in advance; he did his practice well; he was on cloud nine he was dreaming about that day and night.

And the day came. Came as a storm to his life! Everything died there his happiness, his passion, his ambitions, his peace, his bubbliness, and everything!

He passed every round successfully and his finals came. He was enthusiastic he was confident that he could win, according to him he had only one strong competitor but still, he was cent percent sure that he can win. The event started with six participants as he calculated four were back but only one was very competitive. His competitor has made a record already, at the last moment he Yuvi surpassed his record and won by a 3-second difference it was a national record.

He was on cloud nine, he was medalled. Everything was good he was enjoying the day. Yuvi and his parents returned to their hotel room to get ready as they had their flight on the same day evening. They roamed around for some time and went to the airport. They were in the check-in line that's when a call arrived, from the NAC committee.

They asked him to come to the stadium were the events held earlier. He didn't know what he was called for. He went there with his mom and dad. There a thunderbolt awaited him. As soon as he went there his medal was gotten back. He was taken aback.

When he inquired about that, they dropped a bomb. That-that, (He stammered) that someone accused him of dru-drug intake. When he asked who accused him, they refused to let out the name but they asked him to run a blood test. He agreed as he didn't take any drugs. He gave his sample in the night and waited for the result.

The result came in the early morning when they opened the result, it was the worst moment in his life. It stated positive, it proved that he took drugs. He didn't expect that he tried explaining his side but according to them it was proved, Intake of the drug was proved prejudicially. Aunt and uncle tried proving him but nothing turned good.

He was banned for six years. With the influence of uncle's friend, some minister he made the news not get published in the media but Yuvi lost his hope, lost his happiness, lost his sports life, lost his enthusiasm.

This made him an introvert, he distanced himself from everyone he became very quiet and insecure. He feels that somebody will take his things; his loved ones. We couldn't find the real culprit till now!" He said worriedly.

"Oh my god! I am unable to digest the whole things, I have seen these things only in films but now my god! Whoever it might be but I sure that I will make his life royal rotten. I will prove my husband's innocent. Maybe I don't how but one day I will find the real culprit and prove my husband" She confidently.
