Burning flames

"So?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

"So?" He replied back, mocking her tone and gesture.

He reached the hotel in no time after she texted him the address. Now that they were sitting in front of each other, none of them knew what to say. Though it was just a meetup related to the situation they were dealing with, both of them were failing miserably in acting all professional and detached.

Being in the same room and alone with him gave her a weird kind of anxiety which she wasn't expecting after staying away from him all these years and making herself independent of the emotional maze. On the other side, he wasn't calm and casual as well. His eyes kept lingering towards her and staying at various spots a little more than intended.

"Would you like to have something to drink?" She said, trying to find an excuse to get away from his gaze for a while. She felt a strong need to have some space alone to compose herself.
