Devil's Eyes

She woke up to a strange noise. Since he had started taking care of Akalia all alone by herself, even little sounds at night used to scare her. There was weight on her chest that stopped her from sitting up and it didn't take her long to realize that it was none other than her husband. His arms were under and around her waist while his head rested atop her chest. Smiling, she placed a gentle kiss on the top of his head.

His presence was enough to scoot her back to sleep but as soon as she closed her eyes back, the strange tapping or knocking voice startled her once again.

Her eyes shot open as she looked around in panic. She refrained from waking Xavier up, he looked so peaceful. Instead she carefully wiggled from underneath him and pulled herself out of his grasp with great difficulty.
