Leaving Orsini

Both Erik and Leon had the same expression and almost had to check if their hearing was working.

Erik gave a questioning look as he took a look at Aman carrying a bunch of stuff, that looked like it wanted to fall off the poor lad carrying so many bags at once.

"Sorry to ask, but can you explain what's going on?"

Giovanni suddenly jolted and looked slightly embarrassed.

"Oh yes yes. I forgot to explain. With a decent amount of manpower gone with the unfortunate deaths of my guards and especially one of the commanders of the guards. I have decided to relocate Aman to somewhere more quiet and less dangerous until I settle things down here in Orsini."

Still raising his eyebrow, Erik's face was telling Giovanni to go on, so Giovanni gave a little cough and continued.

"Ahem, with that in mind, I chose to go to Verin. Although Verin is quite close to Orsini, the Medici family actually does not have a branch there since it's so close to the border that its quite risky. However knowing someone of your caliber is within the city has given me the reassurance to build a branch there, except this time I have decided to let Aman manage his first branch with Verin as the test city. I forgot to mention can you bring Su-"

Before Giovanni finished, a brunette trying to hold a bunch of stuff with one arm as the other one was heavily bandaged opened the door.

"Dooooon't leeaaave withooout meeee!"

An injured Susan stumbled over a rock in the courtyard and almost fell over, but managed to balance herself before she fell and stabilized herself and almost crashed into the group.

Seeing that they hadn't left and were all staring at her, she turned away with a slightly flushed face.

"..... I thought you guys already left"

Leon was bewildered as he thought back to the professional and serious Susan on the battlefield compared to this clumsy girl who acted like she was a regular shy schoolgirl.

Giovanni gave an inquiring look towards the girl who tried to turn her head away while whistling.

"Anyways, I would like you guys to extend a helping hand once more towards our family if you could travel back to Verin while taking Aman and Susan. Usually, I would just send Aman with Susan and a couple of guards, however, the fact that we are short on manpower and Susan is injured has led to a set of peculiar events."

Leon wanted to voice his support, but even though he was essentially the adoptive son of Erik. Erik was still the guild master and Leon the guild member, so he stayed quiet and left everything to Erik.

With no hesitation, Erik gave two thumbs up indicating his approval.

"Well I don't see a reason not to, put your stuff in the back and we can hit the road."

With that Giovanni gave a very satisfied nod and waved them off as they slowly drove the horse-drawn carriage towards the gates of Orsini.

The four stayed quiet as a mouse for the first part of the trip as they made their way slowly out of Orsini. Only once the cart started to bounce slightly up and down on the rocky dirt road that was outside the city did anyone talk.

As always, Erik was the first one to talk.

"So, what do you think of your situation Aman?"

Aman thought for a couple of seconds and gave a very honest answer that contained a sliver of excitement.

"I'm actually quite happy and curious about things. I'm very excited to be able to manage a branch, even though it hasn't been built yet. Father gave me very extensive schooling and even had me learn the ways of being a good merchant somewhere in the capital city, Pelv. However, I am quite excited, as this is my first time really being anywhere that isn't a huge city like Orsini or Pelv."

With a satisfied nod, Erik was going to ask the same question until he turned his head around from where he was driving the carriage to see Susan also furiously nodding her head upward and downwards.

Susan however still answered the question even though Erik stopped his question.

"I grew up in the capital, so even though I am a B-Tier adventurer. I haven't really been in a small city."

To Leon this was quite surprising, however, this was quite normal in Partha. In Partha, the population was vastly situated in big cities like Orsini or the capital Pelv. The people that lived in the countryside were only 15% of the people that lived in Partha.

After that initial conversation, the four got to talk more as they set off on their two-day journey back to Verin.

-Two days later still on the road to Verin-

Leon, Aman, and Susan both attempted to see ahead as they were excited to see the walls of Verin again. Leon was excited to see some of his friends, tease Lucia, and accept some more commissions to advance his Tier.

Meanwhile, Aman and Susan were both excited for they would be able to see a new place and experience new things.

Erik who was usually the most energetic and talkative sat in the front of the carriage still driving however he looked a little bit groggy as he attempted to shake out the hangover he had from a previous night of drinking some alcohol Aman had brought.

Soon the carriage managed to cross one more small hill and they arrived in the familiar sights of Verin. The walls that didn't look so high to Leon anymore after seeing Orisini, the abundant forests, and the river that went through the city.

After they entered the city, Aman and Susan asked to be let off at a high-end hotel for Verin as they had to book a hotel and go to inquire about potential land to start their branch for the Medici trading company.

Erik found a guild member outside the doors of The Chosen and got him to drive the carriage around back.

After picking up all their stuff and luggage, Erik barreled ahead with Leon trailing behind unable to keep the same speed as he had so much stuff that they had gotten from Giovanni he could barely see in front of him.

With a loud kick, Erik kicked open the door and shouted so loud it echoed multiple times throughout the large guildhall.

"I'M BACK!"
