Alliance of the Great Plains

It wasn't even a hard decision for Leon. He had no idea where he was, nor did he have any food or water. Plus he wasn't sure about whether or no powerful monsters roamed the area and he had to take care of Aurora as well.

After agreeing, Leon and Aurora joined the group as they made their way back. On the way back, Leon got to have a conversation with the group and came to learn a couple of things.

First off Leon exchanged names with the group and found out besides the names he had already known of like Little Lightning, Raging Bull, and the shamaness. The tall and intimidating female bow warrior was called little claw, while the warrior with the club who had fallen back at the cave was named tiny finger.

The group also told him a bunch of information about how they weren't actually nomadic like the Coalition would have other people to believe. While it was true that some tribes moved around, most tribes actually lived in pretty big fortresses like any other nation.

Also, the term barbarian did not fit the tribes at all. The group was kind, respectful, and very much intelligent. He also learned that the group came from a people that called themselves, the Alliance of the Great Plains.

The alliance was of course a collection of hundreds of clans and tribes with twelve main tribes acting as the leaders, although they didn't make decisions themselves as the alliance made decisions via a council of all tribes.

The group of warriors were all from different tribes but they were all a part of the twelve main tribes and Leon came to the understanding that the group could all be considered some of the future elites of the tribes.

Now according to the group, the Alliance of the Great Plains did not encompass all the tribes that roamed the wildlands, but they were definitely the biggest and most influential collection of tribes.

In fact, the Coalition had indeed been fighting all the tribes that roamed the unclaimed territory, but the majority of their opposition was from the Alliance. Plus the reason they could even hold back to the Coalition was that the twelve main tribes produced some of the strongest warriors that roamed the unclaimed lands.

As the group continued to make their way back to the Alliance, the sun started to set and howls of various animals could be heard throughout the entire flat land.

Leon, who carrying a sleeping Aurora on his shoulders, looked around the surrounding area, which had turned into a vast flat land full of tall grass and streams.

"Are you sure it's safe to travel during the night?"

Raging Bull laughed.

"Haha, Leon don't fret. We are a group of titled warriors, if we were untitled it would have been understandable to be nervous."

Leon didn't know about the titles and could only ask about them.

"Titles?"

Before Raging Bull could say anything, Little Lightning who walked at the front to guide and lead the group spoke.

"In our culture, a title is something every warrior dreams of. It signifies that they are either exceptional at combat or have made a sizable achievement. For example, I'm named Little Lightning for my fast lightning-like strikes, plus other reasons…"

Their titles reminded Leon of the fact that some adventurers had nicknames like Erik who was named the 'Giant of Partha'.

Right when Raging Bull was going to explain his title, Little Lightning started to speed up and looked in front of them.

"We are almost there!"

Leon looked in the distance and could see a giant camp or fortress in the distance. Dozens of torches were lit and made the entire place stand out compared to the dark plains like a torch in the dark.

He couldn't get a good look, but from what he could see. It seemed like the entire place would be bigger than Verin, but they didn't have any buildings and used giant tents instead.

It only took them a few more minutes to reach the giant campsite and Leon finally saw the entire place. The giant campsite didn't have any walls but a bunch of guard towers and barricades that surrounded the campsite for protection.

When they walked in, one of the guards in the tall towers spoke from their lofty towers.

"Tribe?"

Little Lightning didn't even pause and continued walking.

"Thunderbird."

Although Leon couldn't see the face of the guard, he thought he heard a hint of respect and reverence in the voice.

"You can pass."

The group of warriors walked in and Leon got to see a lot of people. Even though it was nighttime, dozens of tribesmen and women were still awake as they conversed and talked, while the children ran around playing games.

It seemed like each tent had a family or multiple people in them. A lot of them gave some inquiring glances towards Leon, but they didn't pay too much attention seeing that he was with well-known warriors

Even though the entire place was a giant campsite, it took the group almost thirty minutes for them to reach the center part of the tents which was their destination. Which gave Leon enough time to really experience how many people were here.

Just from an educated guess, he would estimate that there were thousands that lived here.

Soon, they stood outside a huge tent that would've been big enough to cover Leon's entire guild hall back in Verin.

But before they went in, Little Lightning turned to Leon and Aurora.

"This here is the council tent. If I am correct they should be ending our daily meeting. Now, I know you two are very friendly and amicable, but I just want to warn you two to not do anything rash when inside here. Everyone here holds a rather powerful status here, by either being a tribe leader/representative or exceptional warrior."

Little Lightning pointed at Raging Bull.

"Don't be like this idiot and speak out of turn."

Raging Bull started whistling and looked away from out of embarrassment.

"You accidentally shout during a meeting one time and now you're infamous…"

Little Lightning made a couple of more points and in the end, told Leon to just let them do all the talking unless he was specifically asked a question. With that, Little Lightning opened the flap of the tent.

As the group walked in, Leon finally could see the insides of the huge tent. Hundreds of people were sat down in a square that dotted the perimeter of the tent, all of whom looked back at the group who had just entered.

The entire place was lit up by torches that touched the tent, but somehow didn't even char the material of the tent. When the group entered, Little Lightning walked towards the center of the tent and got on one knee as he faced a group of people who sat apart from the perimeter closer to the middle with twelve different flags.

"Little Lightning greets the elders and has important news about the investigation."
