Chapter 5

When Andras came back to his mansion and opened the door to his bedroom, he had completely forgotten the other soul that resided in his bedroom. Unlocking his bedroom door was not a new thing as whenever he left his room, he felt that it was important to lock his door from time to time. When you kill for a living being too lax would put you in your overdue grave much faster than anticipated.

He laid on his bed, one hand on his temple and the other placed next to him. You could be sure that inside the drawer of his nightstand was a gun, just in case. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself as he would have to fight his inner demons that wake up in his sleep. As he was slightly getting comfortable, he sensed the breathing of someone else other than himself. It was shocking that anyone would go unnoticed by him. That was when a name and a face popped in his head and his mind cleared. Just what was wrong with him. The Kill had made him almost become the he that he was but a small little thought of her had him feeling all nice and soft inside. This attraction was completely to be put simply 'Simply Stupid'. Falling for a pretty face should be beyond him. But something inside him told him that it was more than the face, no matter how much he wanted to think otherwise.

Following the sound of Mallori's breathing, he found her on the other side of the bed laying on the cold ground as she slept soundly like a baby. Seeing her on the cold ground made Andras want to embrace her and engulf her in his warmth. He fought back the urge and instead picked her up from the ground and laid her down on his bed that no one except him had ever slept on. He covered her under the sheets and looked at how the new found warmth put a smile on her marvelous face. A smile started making its way up to Andras' face too and this time he did not fight it, letting it take over. With a slight hesitation, he brought his hand up to her face and caressed her cheek. Her smile seemed to widen upon his touch and he couldn't help the beating of his heart intensifying. To calm his poor heart that had been overworked for a single day, he laid back on his side of the bed with the same position as before. However, this time he kept one eye open as he watched the sleeping face of Mallori.

At some point, Andras had fallen asleep and for the first time after a kill, his demons did not visit him in his sleep. Instead, all he saw was the memories of the past that he had happily spent with his mother and father.

Andras woke up as a stray ray of sunlight hit his face as he had forgotten to close the curtains the day before. Forcing himself to open his eyes, he noticed that he was feeling warmer than usual. Looking to his side he saw that Mallori had moved from her side of the bed and was now cuddling next to him. Her chest was pressing to his side and he could feel their inviting softness pressed against his shirt and he wished that he had taken off his shirt the night before. He slowly moved away from her and got up from the bed. He went to the bathroom and freshened up. He finally checked the time and saw how late in the day it was. He couldn't believe that he had slept for so long. He would have usually been in his study at this time overlooking the erasing contracts for the month. Knowing exactly what or more like who had caused him to sleep for so long without the slightest twitch, he looked at his occupied bed and sighed. The stink of blood on his shirt reminded him that everything that had happened was real.

He had impulsively taken Mallori from the Glass Tower, but what should he do now? Then a deep voice inside him repeated every claim of possession he had made to Mallori yesterday. A smirk came up to his lips as he realized once again that she was HIS.

Moving in the bed, Mallori opened her eyes and sat up on the bed looking around as she tried to remember where she was. When her eyes met with Andras' she seemed to finally recall everything and got up from the bed and walked towards him. She grabbed his hand from his side in hers. Looking at his hand that was now in Mallori's soft hand, his gaze moved up from his hand to her face. Her face gave no clue as to why she had grabbed his hand. But not disliking the feeling of holding hands he let the matter be.

He was about to ask her if she was hungry when a loud growl was heard from Mallori's stomach. Not hiding her hunger, she said, "food". Before heading to the kitchen, Andras asked if she needed to use the bathroom. She nodded her head and went into the bathroom not even bothering to close the door behind her. Only seeing one toothbrush Mallori was about to use his when he stopped her and gave her a new toothbrush from the stack of toothbrushes that he had kept from the different airlines he had been on. He put a mental note that he should go and buy some things for her, now that she was to stay with him until he got bored with her and decided to kill her. He also shut the bathroom door.

They finally went downstairs, and breakfast for one was awaiting them. His maid would obviously have not expected that her master would have a guest. Andras pointed towards the plate filled with breakfast goodness and simply told her to eat. One day of going without breakfast wouldn't kill anyone. He would know.

She ate her breakfast slowly as Andras watched her intently as if he had never seen anyone eat before. Making sure to eat everything on her plate, Mallori looked at her spotlessly clean plate with a smile that showed how proud of herself she was. He couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him as he saw her triumphant smile. If it was anyone else, they would think she had conquered the whole world or something. How long had it been since he was exposed to such innocence? It had surely been a while due to not being able to recall such memory from his memory search of the last 10 years. This time it was him smiling like a fool. The atmosphere between the two of them was becoming somewhat intimate when the sound of the main entrance door opening was heard. The intrusion announced the presence of a third party, an unwelcome third party.

Andras sighed as he knew if the moment had lasted just a bit longer his lust for Mallori would have at least been slightly met with. The moment was ruined and he knew who it was to blame. Just from the way, he opened the door like it was his own second home, made him instantly recognizable. "That bastard has always had the worst timing ever." Thought Andras to himself as he left the kitchen and went to welcome his old soon to be dead friend, Thomas Nordin.
