CH 9: Broken Cards

"Hello. My name is Katherine Pryde but you can call me Kitty. Nice to meet you guys."

A beautiful brunette stood in front of the class. The girl was short and looked sweet and had the perfect body for a girl her age. Not too skinny and not too big while also having curves that seemed just the right sizes.

But when Jason saw her, he could tell that the girl was strong. Not superhero strong but she definitely had martial arts training and advanced training at that. He had been around enough fighters to know that.

Jason turned his head away and immediately put the girl on his list on people not to hit on. He had been around enough women who were fighters and knew that most of them were troublesome. They all wanted or attracted fights.

Kitty on the other hand noticed Jason the moment he looked away from her. She was not being arrogant but had always been told she was cute. Every other guy in the room was looking at her so when Jason was the only one who was not, it attracted her attention.

'Oh. He is not looking at me like a piece of meat. We could definitely be friends!'

The pair did not realize that they were sharing opposite thoughts or that they would be interacting much more in the future. Kitty was allowed to pick her seat and chose the one next to Jason, to the envy of the other guys. When they noticed Jason was not attracted to her, their hearts calmed down.

"Hey. I'm Kitty. What's your name?" Kitty asked as she stretched out her hand to shake Jason's. Jason returned the handshake in order to not be rude.

"Jason," he answered coldly before pulling out his phone and looking up some history for Penthesilea. He figured he might as well learn about her first.

Kitty frowned when she saw that Jason was not paying too much attention to her so she turned her head away and focused on the teacher who had started homeroom. Jason let out a sigh of relief when he noticed that.

Kitty, however, heard the sigh before turning to glare at Jason.

'Shit! Need to be quieter next time.'

Jason pretended not to see the glare and kept scrolling through information on his phone. Class ended soon but Jason realized that his next class was shared with the new girl. Her pretty face had attracted the guys in the web development class.

Jason ignored her and booted up his desktop. He had already finished that week's assignment so planned on using the entire class to get as much information as he could. And by the time class was over, he had a pretty good understanding of the history of 3 of his Servants.

Penthesilea was the Amazon queen after her elder sister Hippolyta. She had experienced the tragedy of Hercules and the curses of gods before. She had eventually taken over as queen after her sister had died. The Amazons had an alliance with Troy. By the time they had arrived, Achilles had already killed Hector.

Penthesilea led her army along with 12 elites against the greek army. Penthesilea was able to kill a large number of enemies with her army and nearly turned the tied before Achilles intercepted her forces.

The pair had a duel to the death as the most powerful warriors of their armies. The final battle had been close but ended in Achilles victory. If it ended as simply as that, Penthesilea would not have been filled with rage. She did not mind dying as a warrior. But Achilles last words while she was alive were, "Such a pity. A beautiful woman dying like this."

'Those last words are probably why Penthesilea hate Achilles and other Greek heroes.'

As for the twins, they were once demi-gods who were trained by the god-trainer Chiron who had trained the likes of Heracles, Achilles, and Jason (not MC lol). They ascended the heavens like cultivators and became the constellation of Gemini.

Jason then read that they were originally seen as the gods of sailing and blessed sailors for safe travels. But after several other tales of their failed blessings, humans lost faith in them and even called the older twin a false god.

'Guess that is why that guy is an Avenger. At least his sister seemed to be able to control him but I will still have to reign in that attitude of his.'

Jason figured that he actually got some pretty good Servants. Jason planned to find out some of his other Servants identities during lunch that day.

-- Lunch Time, Abandoned Warehouse--

Jason snuck out of class early in order to check out his Servants. He figured he would try out the most troublesome ones first while he still had an abundant number of command seals. Jason focused on his command seals and summoned the cards for Berserker, Archer, and Assassin.

Jason crushed all 3 cards and 3 magical circles appeared before him. Out of each one, came a single person.

'So they are not all weird like Saber or Lancer.'

The Archer Servant was a shirtless, brown man with crimson gauntlets that went up the entire length of his arm and matching armor upon his legs. It seemed that the only parts of his body unprotected were his torso and his head.

The man had vibrant red and orange hair that looked as if they could become flames at any moment. He had a lazy, yet fierce look in his golden eyes. Being held in one hand, was a giant spiked chakram.

"Are you my Boss? Where is the next battle?" asked the Archer

'This is an Archer servant? He is definitely a fighter. This is not an Archer at all!"

The Assassin Servant was a very calm looking man with pale blonde hair. Jason could not sense any hint of bloodlust or maliciousness in his eyes. He actually looked very kind with his glasses on and would be taken as a boy next door type that many women would fall for, easily.

He did not wear any attire that looked like an assassin or ninja but instead dressed as if he was a refined young man and scholar. He wore a suit with a jacket over his shoulders but without putting his arms in the sleeves. The only deadly looking about him was the small knife he had in his right hand.

"Are you my Master?" asked the Assassin

'This is my deadly killer? The person I am supposed to send to assassinate my enemies before they even know it? What is he going to do, seduce them before killing them?'

Berserker was the most mysterious to Jason. It was a woman with long braided silver-pink hair and red eyes. She wore a red jacket with a black coat over it and a black skirt with red trim, with white boots and gloves. She had two satchels hanging from both sides of her while having a pistol holstered on her left hip.

Her eyes did not seem to contain madness like a normal Berserker but instead, she looked very nice and sweet. There was a bit of stubbornness in her eyes but besides that, she seemed more like a friendly big sister than a Berserker wanting to slaughter everyone she sees.

"Hello, Commander. I am here to ensure that everyone stays as healthy as possible. From the way you are standing, you seem injured. Hold still for a moment." asked the Archer

Berserker walked forward before creating a medicine and gauze out of nowhere. She stripped Jason's upper body before beginning to work on him.

'And this is my Berserker. So I have twin Sabers where one is not even a Saber, a Lancer who has anger issues, an Archer who most likely fights at close range, an Assassin who I don't think will kill anyone, and a Berserker who does not berserk but heals.

Are my cards broken?' Jason thought to himself as he looked over his Servants.
