CH 10: Lorna

Jason spent 45 minutes getting to know his Servants before making his way back to school. Although he had his own first impressions of them when they were summoned, he still wanted to get to know their personalities better from their own mouths... and his assumptions had been correct.

Archer was an Indian warrior named Ashwatthama from mythology related to legends such as Karna and Arjuna. He was a fierce warrior who always believed in fighting fairly while never using underhanded methods such as ambushes or night assaults. He was a true warrior through and through.

He was also unusual for the Archer class even from his own mouth. Archers were skilled with ranged weapons such as bows or guns, or even just launching weapons at their enemies. In Archer's own words,

"I guess I'm an archer because I launch not only my weapon but also myself toward my enemy like an Archer does."

Jason was exasperated with the Servant's words. It was the dumbest explanation he had ever heard. It made no sense.

'Are you saying Sabers don't do that? How about Lancers? Oh, Oh! Do Berserkers deserve to be Archers because of their straightforward battle style?'

Assassin was just like how Jason had thought he was but also the complete opposite. Assassin was Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In his Jekyll form, he was a very nice and kind man who no one would expect to be an Assassin. He was also skilled in alchemy and chemistry, even offering to tutor Jason if he requested it. The man apparently gained the Assassin class due to his ability to suddenly transform from a harmless man into a ruthless and efficient killer.

Mr. Hyde was the real powerhouse of the two and was of the Berserker class. Using their noble phantasm, they would trade places. Usually, Jason would just call them schizophrenic but the difference between the two was quite large. Jekyll was weak and could be beaten by a normal human while Hyde could take on and overpower someone of the Saber or Lancer classes in a head-on fight.

The only issue with Hyde was his personality. He tried to kill Jason twice just because Jason tried to control and limit his movement and actions. He was stopped by the command seals the first time and true Berserker the second.

Berserker was Florence Nightingale. Jason was confused about why she was a Berserker for a few minutes before figuring it out. The woman was delusional. She believed that she was always right and was supposed to heal everyone, even her enemies. She shot Hyde and broke half the bones in his body before healing as, "The only way to get the patient to lie still," was her logic.

Even when dealing with Jason, she would mostly ignore his words and do what she thought was best. Jason was able to reason with her if only barely. Truly fitting for the Berserker class. Jason dismissed the 3 after getting to know them before heading back to school.

'Two of them are pretty famous so I don't need to do much research on them. The only one I need to look into of those 3 is Ashwatthama. Never was too big into Indian mythology.

Jason made his way back to school just in time for his next class. He was greeted by the sight of some familiar green hair. Jason took a seat next to his good friend who was focused on her book. Jason tapped on her shoulder to get her attention and was given a glare the moment the girl looked up.

"Hey, Lorna. It's just me. Missed you yesterday."

Lorna's glare went away swiftly and was replaced by indifference but there was a small smile on her face. Lorna was a mutant and proud of it. She never tried to hide her powers or how she got them and was usually shunned in school. Jason was one of the few people who was willing to talk to her in public and be friendly.

"I'll tell you about it later. Meet up after school?"

Jason gave himself a self-deprecating smile.

"Can't. Grounded. I'll tell you later."

Lorna smiled even wider hearing that. She had met Hyun-Hwa before and knew how reasonable the woman was. If Jason was grounded, she knew he truly deserved it and it would be an interesting story.

"Oh? Ditch 5th period and meet up at the usual spot?"

Jason nodded but did not speak out loud. Dr. Williams just entered and would not hesitate to send a person to the principal's office over the slightest grievance or annoyance. Lorna saw he entered and also went quiet.

The class went by swiftly. The duo left together under the mocking gazes of several students. Both were outsiders, one was a smartass and the other was a mutant. The pair stopped at Jason's locker to pick up his gym bag.

The duo made their way to the roof without being seen by ant teachers. When they got there, there were a few other delinquents like them but everyone minded their own business. Everyone had their own spot and would not bother the others.

Jason and Lorna made their way to their usual spot before Jason pulled out a thick blanket from his gym bag and placed it on the ground. The pair sat down while Lorna pulled out some snacks from her bag.

She held one out for Jason but when he reached for it, she pulled it away. This happened a few times before Jason gave her a puzzled looked. He saw the teasing smile on her face and knew what she wanted.

"Fine. I'll go first."

Jason snatched the snack cake out of her hands before tearing it open and taking his time to enjoy it. Lorna knew Jason had a weakness for sweets and would use it to tease or bribe him.

"So you can pick between two things: either me being a mutant like you or me sleeping with Liz Allan. Take your pick."
