Ch 11: Family

Lorna was shocked. Shocked to the point where she could not speak and would not know how to respond even if she could. The pair were close and shared secrets but both of the things Jason just shared were major.

Seeing that she was stunned, Jason used that as a chance to steal two more snack cakes from Lorna and eat them.

Lorna finally recovered when she saw Jason eating her stuff but did not focus on that. She needed answers more than snacks at the moment.

"You're a mutant? Since when?"

"Since last night to answer your second question. Yes to answer the first."

Lorna was stunned by how casual Jason told her. She knew they were close friends and that he was unafraid of being associated with a mutant, but coming out and admitting he was one was very unusual.

But she was happy. There were too few mutants in their school and the rest were too cowardly to associate with her or reveal themselves. Now, her closest friend at school was also a mutant.

"What are your powers? Any physical changes?"

Jason did not answer her but instead showed her his command seals. Lorna noticed them in class but did not think much of it.

'I figured he just got himself a weird tattoo. Wouldn't be the first time he had done something like that.'

Jason then summoned the 5 golden cards and 5 black cards into his hand before passing them to Lorna. Lorna flipped through the cards while looking at and feeling the designs. She had to admit, they were unique.

"What do they do? Why are some different colors?"

"They summon powerful creatures and people of myth and legend. And they are different colors because the gold ones are currently useable while the black ones are on cooldown. Even if I only had one, I'm pretty sure I could beat you."

Lorna gave him a surprised look. She was confident in her powers and Jason knew all about them. If he said he was confident that he could beat her with just one, it meant they were truly powerful.

"We are definitely testing these during lunch tomorrow."

Jason nodded in agreement. By lunchtime, he knew Saber and Lancer would be off cooldown so he was confident that he would have at least one Servant ready in case of emergency.

Seeing that Jason agreed with her so easily, Lorna was happy. She was about to ask Jason about Liz but before she could, he beat her to it.

"Not answering any more questions until you go. I saw the look on your face in class. While you have a bitch face when someone interrupts your reading, it is never that bad. What's up?"

Lorna paused before feeling touched and annoyed. Jason paid enough attention to her to notice a small difference in her expressions. She was upset that he commented about her reading bitch face but decided to not dwell on it too much.

"Ignoring that middle part, I found out who my parents are. Well, at least one of them. I also have siblings. Always knew I was adopted and finally got my answer."

Jason nodded. The girl always said she was adopted and would find out her real parents. He just never figured she would find it out so fast.

'She would not be upset about this unless her parent was famous. Wait a minute. She has magnetic powers, her parent is famous, she is upset about it. Is it him?'

Jason's shock must have shown on his face because Lorna just nodded toward him.

"You mean that your father is..."

"Yep. My dear old dad is the one and only master terrorist and master of magnetism, Magneto. He came to visit me yesterday and offered me to join his brotherhood. I told him no but he said he would wait for me to change my mind. That I would eventually realize he was right and join him.

And it pisses me off that I think he might be right. I don't want to be like him but... well you've seen me. The resemblance in our personalities and powers is uncanny."

"I mean... it is true that you both seem bipolar but you also seem much more mellow than him. Someone calls you a raging mutant bitch, you magnetize a few things around them to destroy their laptop and phone. Someone calls him that, there might be 10 dead bodies on the evening news.

Just cause you're his daughter, does not mean you will become him. You've seen the other two. Both are his children and have joined and left his brotherhood a few times."

Lorna's siblings, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were both older than her and famous for being members of the Brotherhood and Avengers already. Even though they were so young, they had made names for themselves.

Lorna nodded at Jason's explanation but still felt stressed and pressured. Jason knew that his words could not get rid of all of Lorna's worries but wanted to at least say a few words of comfort so she would not be so stressed.

"Anyway... about Liz. Me and her slept together Monday...." Jason then went into details about how it happened and then how 'it' happened, in graphic details as well. Before he could even finish, Lorna smacked him on the head and told him to shut up. The pair spent the rest of the schooldays on the roof relaxing and having fun.

By the time school was over, both had calmed down from the stress they had been going through. But just as they left the gates, Jason got a notification on his phone. He set it up to notify anytime his or Lorna's names were mentioned on the forum. And he was mentioned twice.

The first as possibly dating Lorna as well as being a mutant. That post did not worry Jason. He had seen posts about the pair dating before as well as mutant accusations. Jason did not care for them.

The second was slightly more concerning but also no longer a big deal to Jason. The title read: [Flash Thompson cheats on Liz Allan with several girls. Liz counter by sleeping with her tutor, Jason Kim.]

Jason sighed to himself thinking that the next day would be trouble. But he was not worried. He called a cab for himself and Lorna before dropping her off on his way home.
