Most of the guys took a few steps back when they saw Lorna's display of power but the dumber ones held their positions. Jason set his bag and took out his phone. It was Flash who decided to speak up since he was the one who gathered everyone.
"Back off, Dane. My beef is with him, not you."
Lorna gave him a smirk and started spinning the pins around her head even faster.
"You want me to stand aside as you try to fight my friend, 15 to 1. I don't think so."
Flash looked frustrated. He knew that he could not beat Lorna even if all 15 attacked at once. And a teacher who come by sooner or later so they needed to end it fast. Thinking up to there, he made his decision.
"Fine, Dane. One on one. Let's do this man to..."
But before Flash could even finish, Jason rushed forward and punched Flash in the throat with his phone. While Flash was stunned in pain, Jason gave him a hard cup check, followed by a kick to each of his knees. Flash was on the ground in moments.
Jason did not give him a chance to recover before pouncing on him and began delivering blows to Flash's undefended face. Jason only stayed like that for about 15 seconds before standing up and pulling Lorna into the school.
The scuffle did not last more than a minute before it was over. Jason had swiftly and efficiently taken down Flash without taking a single blow in return. While some would say he took a cheap shot, no one would say Flash wanted a fair fight from the beginning or else he would not have had 14 other guys backing him up.
Jason and Lorna made it into the school before splitting up. Jason sent a text to both of his brothers to let them know he was alright before he made it to his homeroom.
He knew they were both aware of what was going on and did not want them to worry or interfere. He wanted to take care of his own issues.
As Jason had expected, he was called to the principal's office before homeroom had even ended. What he did not expect, was to see Lorna, her parents, and his mom outside the office.
'So they plan on pinning some of the blame on Lorna? Not on my watch.'
Jason was shocked but did not show it on her face. He calmly walked up to them and sat down beside his mother. He was about to start kissing up to his mother but when he saw her stern glance, he kept quiet.
"Your brothers have already informed me of what was going on and Lorna told me what happened this morning. Next time, walk away and call a teacher. Understood?"
Jason nodded at her words while inwardly thanking his brothers and Lorna.
The secretary came and called everyone into the conference room. Inside, were Flash Thompson, his parents, 15 other parents, the 3 VPs, the Principal, and 2 police officers. Jason's group sat on the side with the police officers.
Before anyone with authority said anything, it was Mrs. Thompson who spoke up first.
"I want this little bastard and mutant bitch expelled and arrested for laying their hands on my precious son."
Everyone in the room had dark looks on their faces after they heard that. The people she was speaking of were children. The female police officer was on to speak up for them.
"I suggest you watch your mouth. Your son is on thin ice. We have reviewed the security footage at the front of the school and saw that it was your son and 14 others who instigated the fight by surrounding and threatening these two.
If they decide to place charges, it will be your son who will leave here in handcuffs if anyone."
"O'Hara!"
The other officer berated her by calling her name but did not dispute what she said. It was the truth. Jason attacked in self-defense. It was also only Jason who acted so Lorna would get in no trouble even if they were in the wrong.
The meeting was to discuss the school's punishment as well as the police involvement. The school's higher-ups wanted to keep the matter suppressed. If this news were to get out or made a big deal was made out of it, then they would have to either suspend or expel half of their varsity football team who had a good chance of making it to state that year.
"There are no need for charges. It was a simple misunderstanding between students. I think a week of detention for everyone would be fine. What do you think Ms. Kim, Mr and Mrs. Dane?"
Hyun-Hwa gave a beautiful smile that dazzled everyone in the room except for Lorna and Jason. They both knew that smile spelled trouble. And her next words confirmed it.
"Not only will I be pressing charges and having all of your football team members here arrested, but I will also be contacting your superiors to let them know how you tried to suppress this matter with mere detention as well as your slow reaction and allowing every parent beside us to talk for over 30 minutes before we had arrived.
I have been recording this entire conversation from the moment we walked into the room. I will also be making sure that I sue you, Mrs. Thompson, for verbal abuse against these two lovely children that may cause mental scars and unimaginable damage. You all will be hearing from my lawyers.
Officer O'Hara, Officer Lancaster. Please call for back up so that these young men can get the proper care we need. I will be taking my son out for the day due to the trauma he has experienced."
Mr. and Mrs. Dane agreed with Hyun-Hwa and took Lorna out for the day as well. The meeting had ended in a way that no one had expected with the fierceness of Hyun-Hwa.
