CH 23: Ruler

The next morning, Lorna, Lancer, and Hyun-Hwa entered Jason's room to see the teen doing one-arm pull-ups on the bar above the bathroom door. Jason had been feeling a large amount of energy ever since he awakened his mutant gene. When Jason noticed the others enter he dropped down from the bar and landed on his feet.

"Hey, guys. Mom, I want to follow the Neo back to their clans and find out who I truly am."

Hyun-Hwa looked at her son for a few minutes before sighing to herself. She had expected Jason to give that answer. She was just not ready to truly accept it. Jason was one of her 3 babies and she would have to send him someplace where he would be out of reach to her.

Lorna also did not look surprised at Jason's answer. The pair were best friends since they were younger and knew each other greatly. This was also why Lorna did not feel the need to explicitly tell Jason that she was joining her father. Both had already known what the other would do.

Jason decided to release Lancer before checking and confirming that the rest of his cards were golden and ready to be used. Hyun-Hwa did not say any words at first but walked up to her son and gave him a tight hug.

"You need to call me on my birthday and Christmas at least. If you don't I will burn down so many Neo clans. You also need to make sure you study. I want you to go to college when you get back. I expect you to go to college when you return. Understood?"

Jason just nodded at his mother's words. He knew that he had to fulfill all of her wishes or else she would really try to hunt down the Neo to find him.

After his mom let go, Lorna was the next to give him a hug. Even though the pair knew that they would be separated for a long time, they were not worried. Both were going to grow into the people they wished to be.

Jason and the others hung out for several hours before Domina arrived with the other members of the Warclan. Jason gave his mother and Lorna one last hug before he stood behind Domina and the group was teleported away by their teleporter.

-- Somewhere on Earth --

Jason and the members of the Warclan arrived in a large, empty conference room. There was a circular table with a large empty space in the center as well as several openings in the table to allow a person to stand in the center.

Domina took one of the seats at the table while the rest of the Warclan stood behind her. When Jason was about to join her, Jaeger held up his head at Jason.

"You stand in the center. Although you have chosen to be a part of us. Now we get to choose which part of us you will join."

Jason nodded at the words and made his way to the center of the room. Soon, 5 other groups entered. Each of their leaders took a seat at the table while the rest of their members stood behind them. Jason was being eyed by all as if he was an animal being judged.

'Just accept it for now. Once you get super powerful, you can kick all of their asses.'

A woman's laugh was heard. Jason noticed it came from a girl in the clan that was almost entirely filled with women in it, with 8 being female and only 1 being male.

'So that is a nosey telepath then. Maybe several telepaths are in my head.'

Jason then began to think of the times Smelly had diarrhea. The same girl let out a sound of disgust but no one else made a sound or showed any expression that gave away they were in his head.

'So either it is only her or she is a newbie and not as skilled at everyone else.'

Everyone watched Jason for over 10 minutes without a word. It was finally a man whose face was covered in scars who spoke up first.

"Welcome, young one. Before we try to decide on which clan needs you and which clan you best fit in with, we first must get you to fully awaken."

The man paused in his speech. He reached inside of a pouch on his hips and pulled out a fruit. The fruit floated over to Jason and he caught it. Jason looked the fruit over as it was something he had never seen before.

It was a small X shaped fruit that was no bigger than a strawberry. Jason felt the skin of it and it felt rough yet smooth at the same time. Almost as if it had soft scales on it.

"Consume that fruit, and you shall become your true self. A Neo who stands above humanity and spikes."

'I'll take this X fruit... and eat it!'

Jason looked at the fruit one more time before putting it in his mouth and chewing it. He then swallowed the fruit.

Soon, he felt a burning sensation in his body. Jason did not pass out, kneel, or even let out a grunt in pain. While he did feel like his whole body was burning from the inside out, to felt strangely comfortable and relaxing. Jason then felt a burning sensation much stronger than the previous one coming from his right and his back.

The sensations lasted for several minutes under the gazes of all the Neo present. Once the process was over, Jason stood before everyone shirtless. His body had been transformed. Even though his body looked mostly the same, each one of his muscles was filled with an unbelievable amount of energy.

They were the changes that could not be seen with the naked eyes. His obvious changes were much more drastic. On Jason's back were a pair of black, scaled wings. Beneath them, was a long and thin, black tail that matched his wings but instead looked to be made of a softer material and was without a tip. On Jason's right palm, was a tattoo that looked like a computer chip.

Everyone gave Jason a few minutes to look over his body and notice the changes to it. Jason's tail could grow up to 3 meters long and was complete within his control although Jason was unused to it. Jason was even able to discover that he was able to swiftly and painlessly retract his wings and tail into his body without any issue.

"Good. Now that you have gotten used to your body, is that all you can do? What are your true limits, boy?" questioned the man who gave Jason the fruit.

Jason focused on his command seal and summoned the Alter Ego card. He then turned his palm over and placed it over the computer chip tattoo. Jason's palm began to glow purple and cover his whole body for a moment.

When the light faded, Jason stood in the same place but wearing a long red scarf around his neck and holding a large odachi in his left hand.

Jason's full awakening allowed him to not only have his new physical traits but also allowed him to borrow the power of his cards. He would be able to use their signature weapons as well as a noble phantasm of theirs.

Everyone seemed to tense up when they saw Jason's new weapon. Each could feel how dangerous it was from where they stood. It was Domina who spoke up first.

"Excellent. You will make a great addition to us. Tell us, what is your Neo name."

Jason did not even have to think to know what he wanted his name to be. He learned from Lancer and Alter Ego that he had cards for almost every Servant class except for 4. Jason learned the names of the 4 but one was already taken and the other two did not suit him.

"Call me, Ruler."
