POV Syrin
When Souei said that the scarred assassin brought up R'hllor the god of light, I knew instantly that he was from the Eos Empire. The amount of spies and assassins I've seen from the Eos Empire that are active in the Bestia Kingdom worries me. To have so many resources deployed in one country can only mean one thing, they plan to start something. Most likely a war based on their track record. Either that or they're planning something bigger and more dangerous. Though what could be more dangerous than an all-out war between two of the biggest countries on the continent.
Seeing all of this makes me want to start investigating for any spud back in the Fortis Kingdom. The Fortis Kingdom is fair to all races, which is against the Empire's core beliefs, so we must be on their sh*t list as well. I'll have to go and speak with Schneizel and come up with a game plan. I can't have spies and assassins doing who knows what in my kingdom.
The fact that a god is being brought up also worry's me. Are gods real? I mean this is a world filled with magic and creatures that could never exist back on earth. Who knows, maybe there was a god back on earth as well and he or she was just more hands-off than this world's gods. If there are real gods in this world, is one or more of them responsible for my arrival here? These questions need to be answered and quickly. I may have Souei to protect me, but there's always someone stronger somewhere.
Once Souei relayed that the assassin would have Armad pray and sacrifice something to the god R'hllor, I bought a pensieve from the Harry Potter section of the system shop. This way I can see the memories of Souei's clone and see what happens. If a god really does appear and accepts the sacrifice, then I want to see it with my own eyes. The possibility that gods truly exist is a scary one, and I need as much information as possible in order to prepare for the worst. A possibility of the worst being one god or more coming after me, my servants, or anyone I care for. Also the possibility of a god destroying the world for one reason or another.
"Now to wait and see." I said as I kick back and wait patiently.
POV Armad
After the person in black said something about a sacrifice, he left my room through the door this time and said he'd be right back. He said something about gathering everything needed for the grand ceremony. While I was waiting patiently for the masked person's return, I couldn't help but think how lucky I am to have this chance. The chance to become a servant to a kind and gentle god such as R'hllor. How was I never afraid of him in the first place. I must apologize for being so rude and repent for my dirty blood.
After waiting a few minutes, the masked person returns whilst dragging someone by their hair. I couldn't tell who it was at first, but after seeing their face, I knew it was my mother. My mother Is a sweet woman that would go to the ends of the earth for me.
"Mother, what are you doing here?" I ask, not fully understanding the situation.
"Oh, don't worry she's asleep." The person in black says and the words 'don't worry' ring in my head. The words soothe me and calm my troubled mind.
"Why did you bring my mother here?" I ask, wondering why my mother would need to be here.
"She's the sacrifice, of course. Keep up, will you." The assassin says as he lets go of my mother's hair and she falls fully on the floor.
"What?! My mother can't be the sacrifice. Pick something or someone else." I exclaim, not wanting my kind mother to be hurt.
"Of course she's the sacrifice. She has dirty blood like you, except she wasn't chosen by R'hllor like you were. Those with dirty blood are lower than ants. You don't need to be scared for your mother. Once her blood has been spilled and the life drains from her body, she will be cleansed of her sins against R'hllor. Don't you want her sins to be cleansed?" The assassin says as they gesture to my mother. The magic of the words spoken swirling in my mind.
"Will her sins truly be cleansed?" I asked and the person in black nodded. "Alright, I'll do it."
"Good, as you are bedridden, I'll help you along with the sacrifice." The assassin says as they drag my mother to my bedside.
The person in black then pulls out a golden decorative dagger and places it in my hand. After handing me the dagger, he or she pulls out a piece of paper and hold it up in front of my face. In his other hand, he lifts my mother and exposes her neck to me.
"Read from the paper and once you reach the end, you may begin the sacrifice." I'm informed as I ready myself for the ceremony.
"All mighty R'hllor, God of light hear my prayer. I, a man of impure blood tainted by the animal, offer myself upon you. Hear my plea and judge not my blood, but the soul that wishes to serve you eternally. I forsake all other gods and open myself to you, the purest of gods. I forsake my people, for they can not see your greatness as I see it. Lastly, I forsake my family. I do this in your name, Amen." I say and without a second thought, I slit my own mother's throat.
The blood pours over the dagger and into the floor. Suddenly, my mother's eyes shoot open and she grabs her neck in pain and horror. Once she tries to breathe, she finds that it's impossible. Blood spills down her windpipe and fills her lungs. Soon she starts coughing blood as her body tries to expel t from her system. The person in black then drops my mother to the floor and she starts flopping around until she dies of blood loss.
