Liena’s Birthday
It's almost my princesses first birthday and we are planning a banquet. So much time has passed but so little has changed. The best news is Sister Ning is 3 months with child and beaming with happiness. I'm so happy for her. The Emperor hasn't favored anyone new though and Sister Daiyu is starting to lose hope...I've been trying to keep her spirits up. He visits me about twice a week but other nights he is with the sisters. I have more time to spend with my princess and that's all I care about these days. I try to invite the of ladies often for play dates with her so we all can experience time with a sweet child. I'm looking forward to the day there is many children in the harem playing. I having a child has really helped make my days brighter.
I'm so excited for her birthday banquet it's should be fun even though she is too little to really understand yet. The Empress Dowager planned everything so that I don't have to worry. It will be prefect I'm sure. And she sent me and the princess matching outfits to wear tonight. Huiquig left my hair half down and used my flower hair pin set. The dresses are very dark blush at the top and fade to light pink at the bottom. Cherry blossoms embroidered for decoration. And a beautiful sparkly pink long scarf to wrap around my arms. The princess had a very mini version of this and a head band to match. I'm very happy with how we look, like mother and daughter, my perfect princess.
As we arrived to the banquet I noticed how beautifully the hall was decorated...in a cherry blossom theme. Just like us and our palace, very clever our Queen Mother is. It was so delicate with tons of flowers hanging from the ceiling with small crystals as well. It was like stepping in the cherry blossom heaven. And even better we are seated directly next to the Emperor. I immediately greeted the Empress Dowager "Queen Mother words cannot describe how grateful I am, it's more than beautiful. Thank you for planning such a perfect banquet for our princess" and she replied "Of course, our first princess deserves the world and I would like to give her as much as possible. Everyone please be seated and enjoy!"
Every meal was amazing of course and even Princess Liena was enjoying herself sitting with the Empress Dowager. I got sometime to speak with the Emperor and he will stay with me tonight. I decided to only have one drink though, to toast my princesses birthday of course. It was a wonderful night and even better that I got to end it with My Emperor.
