Black Phantom

TWO DAYS BEFORE PROM:

Alice groaned for the nth time for the day since most of her female classmates were talking about their gowns. She on the other hand, still doesn't have anything to wear. Her parents gave her the money but she didn't want to spend it carelessly, especially if it's for an expensive gown that she'll only be wearing once.

"I'll probably rent something or whatever," she groaned once again.

"Well whatever you wear, you're bound to look good in it anyway," Rebecca said.

"Wow, how flattering." she replied sarcastically, but there's still a smile on her face.

Alice decided to just go to the rooftop to grab some fresh air but once she opened the door she was surprised to see Mark with Mia and Tiffany. They seemed to be in a serious conversation since they didn't notice her so she kept herself hidden.

"Mark, we're so sorry," Mia apologized.

"Don't apologize to me, say sorry to Alice." Mark said but the girls only looked away from him.

"We can't apologize to her. We know she'll never forgive us besides, it's too late." Tiffany said with a frown.

"Then you may leave, you can talk to me once you've said sorry to her." Mark grunted.

"But Mark, we also came here to warn you," Tiffany added. "Remember when Alice's reputation got really great because she had a fight with Grant's frat? Well someone's out to get her."

"You mean when she got suspended?" Mark asked with a frown, remembering the guilt he felt back then.

Tiffany nodded. "At schools like that, it's all about who is the best fraternity or gang and since Grant's got a taste of defeat the other frats are going to force Alice to join them. If she doesn't join, they'll have to use force." Tiffany said, fear evident in her voice. "There's this gang called Black Phantom, they're a bunch of dangerous guys from my school back then and I think all of them has picked up an interest in Alice."

"What? Why didn't you tell me earlier? This is trouble!" Mark exclaimed.

"It's because I hate Alice, I thought she deserves something like this but now I regret it. I should have just told you sooner," Tiffany softened her voice.

"Whatever happens, no teacher should find out. The same with the other students, especially Alice, she'll get excited and that isn't good." Mark warned.

"We're sorry," the two girls said.

"I can only forgive you once this is over," Mark said seriously.

The two left afterward, Alice smirked and she immediately left the rooftop. "What am I going to do?" Mark sighed.

Minutes later, all the other guys arrived at the rooftop. "Why are you all late?" Mark asked. "We were supposed to meet fifteen minutes ago,"

He got different variations of excuses that they were all together with their girlfriends which only irritated him. "Sorry, I'm late!" Alice shouted when she arrived.

"Where were you?" Lance asked.

"I was hanging around at the AV room. I got in a bit of trouble since I played around and sent a false virus to the main computer again," she grinned.

"No wonder you're his best student, even he can't match up to your intelligence when it comes to computers." Matthew shook his head.

"It's my special talent after all," Alice chuckled.

The guys all wondered why they were all called to the rooftop. Mark told them that they haven't hung out for a while, the last time they did was back during the Christmas vacation. "That's why I want us to go camping," he finished.

"What year do you think we're in 1995?" Alice said with a bored expression.

"Will you just listen?" Mark yelled.

"Your idea sucks," she retorted.

"What do you care?, at least I'm thinking of stuff for us to hang-out together!" Mark grunted.

"Oh yeah? Well, I'll just think of something better!"

"Will you two shut up!" Matthew screamed.

"My, my, you two haven't fought in a while," Josh cackled

"I know, but can we just return to the subject?" Mark asked and the guys nodded in approval. Alice was about to object once again when Mark pulled her towards him and covered her mouth with his hand. "So anyway, it's just a camping trip, you can bring your girlfriends too. We need to relax and hang out once in a while. We've been so busy preparing for prom, so once it's over we can go camping right?" Mark asked.

"I'll ask permission first," Lance said.

"I'll go," Vincent and Gerald said in unison.

"I'll think about it bro," Matthew chuckled.

Suddenly Alice bit Mark's hand. "Ouch!" he cried out.

"I can't go I have to do something." Alice grumbled.

"You didn't have to bite me!" Mark yelled.

"It was your fault anyway," Alice retorted.

"But why can't you go?" Alex asked.

"Well, uhm.... I have other stuff to do," Alice gulped.

The thing about the false virus was a lie, but she really was in the AV room. After hearing Mark's conversation with Tiffany and Mia, Alice immediately got curious and she headed there to do her research. "Sir, may I please use one of the computers?" she asked casually.

"Sure," her teacher nodded without even taking his eyes off the computer's screen. Alice turned one PC on and she quickly did some research.

She looked around for a gang called 'Black Phantom'. Of course, she had to use other means of searching since she can't just google the damn thing. "Gotcha," Alice smiled when she hit the jackpot.

She was able to go to a Facebook account of one of the students of the other school, turns out the student was part of the staff for the school paper. She was able to hack into the student's account and she was able to go to the group page of the editing staff. There she saw the list of groups in their school.

She saw Grant's group ranked as number one and second was the Black Phantom gang. She saw seven different guys as the members, all were troublemakers and a bunch of delinquents. Her smile widened even more when she discovered that all seven guys used to be under Grant's group but all left because they thought they could be better than Grant. Alice smirked as she turned off the computer and she dialed Grant's number.

"Hey, why'd you call? I'm in the class right now." Grant said with a yawn.

"Sorry, is there a teacher? Should I just call you later?" she asked.

"Nope. Wasn't listening anyway." He chuckled and Alice shook her head in disbelief. She knew that Grant is one heck of a troublemaker too but the guy's a genius. He didn't need to study to get high grades.

"What do you know about the Black Phantom gang?" Alice asked.

"How'd you know about them?" Grant asked back.

"Nothing much, just a little curious. I want to know what they're like and who they are." Alice lied.

"Well they're bad news, that's for sure. They're my former members, James even used to be a close friend of mine but he's the one who decided to leave first. They are a bunch of fight thirsty idiots who'd do anything to ruin my name as the leader of the best gang here in school. They usually stay outside the convenience store near your school at late hours. Why are you so curious about them?" Grant asked once again.

"I just heard the name and I thought it was lame," Alice laughed. "Anyway thanks, I'll call you later," she said as she hung-up.

"What are the other things you're saying you should do? Do you have to go somewhere?" Alex asked. Alice was thinking of another excuse when a different idea struck her.

"Oh never mind, I guess I'll go with you guys after all." she grinned.

"Great," they all beamed at her.

"Here's a note to remind you. Knowing you, you'll definitely forget about it," Mark said as he tore a page from his notebook and he gave it to Alice. Alice only kept the paper in her pocket.

Once it was dismissal time Alice asked the guys if they could hang out with her at the convenience store. "This is new Alice, why'd you suddenly invited us?" Gerald asked.

"Oh nothing, I'm just hungry." she lied as she took a bite of the hotdog that she ordered. They all decided to eat there for a while, soon it was already late.

"We need to head home now, let's go Alice," Mark told her.

"Ah, my dad said he'll pick me up here. I need to wait for him," Alice told them. Mark offered if he should wait for her but Alice declined. So now Alice is all alone and she's currently waiting outside of the convenience store but she isn't waiting for her father, she's waiting for someone else.

After an hour of waiting, she saw a bunch of guys walking towards the convenience store. Alice smirked as she headed straight for them. "Black Phantom?" she asked the moment she got near them. The guys stopped and they all looked at her.

"You're that chick that punched Grant," one of them said. "Rumors are right, you are pretty." he then winked at her. Alice only rolled her eyes at him in disgust.

"I heard what you're planning well sorry to tell you this but I have no intention of joining you, even if you force me to," she said. The guys looked surprised.

"How'd you know?" another one of the guys asked.

"Skills," Alice shrugged. "Anyway don't be rude and go introduce yourselves to me. You seem to be interesting but you're going to have to use a bit of force to get me into your group." There's nothing else better than the smell of trouble for Alice.

"You sure are different. My name is James, these are Zack, Kristoff, Michael, Edmund, Adrian, and Dan."

James was the guy that Grant mentioned. Alice nodded in acknowledgment. "We'll meet again. I want some excitement for a change, so you'll get to fight me soon," Alice said.

"You're one crazy girl aren't you? I'll make sure Dan does some research on you. We'll definitely see you again," James smirked.

Alice turned around and she headed home. She's done with her plan, soon enough she'd meet with them then she'll settle it all. Meanwhile, she didn't realize that she dropped something back at the convenience store.

Kristoff picked up the piece of paper. "What if we pay her a surprise visit?" he chuckled.

NOTE!

Camping with everyone two days from now.

Forest out of town.

Meet @ school - 7am

"Expect the worst Alice," James said as he kept the piece of paper.

ONE DAY BEFORE PROM:

It was only one more day before prom so everyone was having their general practice. They spent the whole day practicing so they were all drained by the end of the day.

"Okay everyone, make sure to get your beauty sleep tonight!" their teacher said once they got dismissed.

"I can't wait for tomorrow, it's the official fulfillment of your plan Alice," Vincent said with excitement. Alice smiled.

"Oh right, I'm proud of you guys! Do your best!"

"What about me?" Mark asked her.

"Well, we're both loners tomorrow. Not my fault that you ruined your chance with Mia," Alice stuck her tongue out. "Actually never mind, I wouldn't talk to you if you still like Mia after everything."

"I definitely don't like Mia, I'd rather be a loner with you," Mark said proudly.

"We're loners then," Alice grinned.

Mark silently wishes that he has the courage to ask Alice to be his date but for now, this will do.
