Drowning in Confusion

In my room, I closed the door then lay on my bed drawing into myself, with one of the links falling off and making an echoing "clang" in the background.

I felt a rush of strength.

The body had grown stronger, yes, but definitely not strong enough. Either way, it was a win in my books because I am stronger than I had been since obtaining this body.

Preparing myself, I simply relaxed, allowing whatever to happen - to just happen.

My eyes popped open an unconfirmed while later. I found myself in the void. Trying my best not to panic, I gathered my courage, ignoring my fear of searching within the yawning whiteness that I despised with everything within me. The chains still had me tethered but it seems…

I looked closer, squinting my eyes. This was not right. In fact, even if what I saw was actually what was happening, I truly at the moment didn't care. Those soul chains that had my true self imprisoned had three links missing.
