Dawn came all too quickly. We gathered our things then left the camp of the Moutain Wolves for good, we all knew we might never come back but even so we left everything we knew to stop the Vampires once again as our ancestors did long ago.
While we stood at the edge of camp saying our silent goodbyes the sunrise behind us, I got a strong feeling this is only the beginning of our story. The first step we take is the first page of something that'll become history. But I wonder how many of us will see this story to its end out of the four of us.
" Hey, don't look so serious," Noah said hitting the top of my head with his fist.
" Oh, sorry, I was just thinking,"
" You have a brain? I never would've thought," Alex teased. I ignore her comment.
" Aww, no come back, I guess what little brain cells you did have left," She smirked.
" Alex, stop it," Said Noah.
" Wow, well aren't you the knight Noah. Hey prince, you can't always hide behind him you know,"
Continuing to ignore her I said two words that started our long journey, " Let's go,"
And so it began, we were headed to the land of demons in the West.
" Do you really think we can convince them to help us?" I asked Noah. He shrugged.
" That's not something to ask me, Zero's the one to ask,"
" Zero," I called.
" What?" He asked stopping. He was leading the group because he was the one with the map.
" Do you truly believe we can get the Demons to help us?" I asked. He turned back around facing the open trail.
" That all depends on you," He said before he resumed walking.
He's right...of course, everything is all up to me. I thought as I started walking as well.
" Stop thinking so much before your brain explodes," Alex said hitting the back of my head with the palm of her hand.
" Sorry,"
" Good, now keep up your highness,"
" Right, sorry," I answered. I didn't realize I was falling behind.
We traveled until sunset, we were all exhausted. We stopped for the night when a field came into view. Later that night the Milkyway covered the sky and gave me a sense of calm.
We began traveling again at sunrise, we did that for three days before we came to the border of the Demons. Once we set foot inside we were all surrounded by what looked like men but we were all warned by Zero beforehand that they may look like people but they are the demons we were looking for.
" What business do you have here!" One of them asked which could only be the leader.
" We need to speak to the king of this land," Zero spoke up before anyone else did.
" Explain," The leader demanded.
" We come seeking assistance against the vampires," He answered without missing a beat because he knew one wrong move and we'll all be dead.
" Those bloodsuckers? I want to see those disgusting creatures wiped off the face of the Earth. You have good reason to seek our aid, follow me,"
We quickly followed and we were followed by the leader's men keeping an eye on us. We traveled through the kingdom, past many small towns until we reached the castle with another larger town at its foot. When we reached the gates we were stopped by more guards. The one who led us here spoke a few words to them than the gates opened and we walked in.
" When you are here, you must behave yourself otherwise I will kill you where you stand," The leader stated seriously. He led us down many different hallways before we stopped in front of a large double door within it was carved a large dragon that was above people down on Earth.
" Do not speak unless being spoken to," The leader snapped. We nodded and he opened the door. He walked in and stopped at the edge of the stairs at the foot of the kings thrown and kneeled with his head down, we copied.
" Why are you back so soon Greed?" Said the king.
" My king, I have brought border crossers seeking your aid and with good reason, it is against the Vampires," He answered.
" So, you brought them to me, I see, let's hear them out,"
Greed looked back at us with eyes that said speak up. Zero was the first to speak.
" Your highness, it is true we have traveled from the land of wolves seeking your aid against the vampires, we hope to build an alliance once again,"
" The only wolves I'll ever respect and even consider forging an alliance with has been killed off and that is the Crescents,"
" Your highness that is not true next to me I have the last living Crescent wolf,"
" Impossible!" The king yelled.
" No, your highness it isn't and we can prove it," Zero said turning to me with a look that said transform.
" If this boy can prove he is who he claims to be I will accept your request. All he has to do is shift," The king smirks. I swallow.
Everything is up to me. I think as I take a deep breath and begin shifting.
All I have to do is prove who you are. My hair turns white and my eyes an icy blue.
The king stood up with surprise but quickly sat back down and cleared his throat.
" So, it is true, you are a Crescent, I'd recognize that white hair anywhere," He said.
" State your name boy," Said the king.
" I am Issac Alpin, the heir to the thrown, with your help your highness I can reclaim my birthright and form an alliance with you and wiping out the Vampires for good," I answered. He thought about my words for a minute. The room filled with tension and hope until he spoke.
" I will help you, young prince, come with me," He said as he rose from his throne and walked through a door beside it.
" You better follow him, your highness," Said Greed. I ran after the king.
I walked through the door the king did and through that door was a study with a desk a very nice chair almost as nice as the thrown and many different platforms that were filled with books. The king had open a book and flipping through its pages.
" You look just like your father," The king said closing the book he was holding.
" Thank you, your highness," I replied.
" No need to be so formal, Issac, call me Pride," He said with a smile.
" As you wish,...Pride," I said hesitantly.
" Now, for the alliance," He said sitting down in his chair behind his desk. He started writing on paper and once he was done told me to read it.
" The alliance between the Royal kingdom of the Dragon Demons and the Crescent Wolves. The Kingdom of Dragon Demons will aid the Crescents and protect them while in return the Crescent Wolves will aid the other when in times of need," I read. At the bottom of the paper was the king's signature. He handed me the quill he was using so I could sign as well, once I was finished I handed the quill back. With a snap of his fingers, the paper split into two with the same agreement on it.
" One for each of us," He said.
