Cold,..I feel cold. I thought as the smell crept in, stone,… cold stone filled my nose. My eyes flew open followed by me attempt to sit only to be met with immense pain.
" Hey, easy there," A voice said calmly.
I turn to see a fuzzy vision towards the voice, a blurry figure that roughly looks like Zero.
" What happened?" My weak voice hardly audible.
" I'm not really sure, after we won you compassed, that was three days ago," Zero said.
" Alex…," I ask hope filling my voice. There was a long pause, silence consuming the room my blood pounding in my ears with nerves over taking my senses, devouring every other thought besides knowing if she's okay or not, I need to know if she's okay.
" I'm sorry," he finally spoke breaking the silence that felt like an eternity. At his words my blood froze my heart stopped, all I could do was blink at him. I opened my mouth to speak but my throat is dry no words escaped. I open and close my mouth a few times, repeating hoping something comes out. I must look like a good fish to him right now. A minute passes and still no words so Zero speaks to break my cycle of being a fish.
"Lay back down, I'm going to get the doctor, I'll be right back,"
All I could do was nod or what I think was one. As he closes the door I can feel the stinging of tears wanting to escape my eyes to the point of burning. Zero was only gone a few minutes but felt like forever to be left with my thoughts.
" So, how are you feeling Issac?" The doctor asked with a light clap of his hands. He is a short and round man with a kind looking face.
" Well, everything hurts and my brain is still foggy," I said with a croak.
" That's all very normal, take it easy your body will heal quickly," he said with a nod. " Your mind should start to clear up as well it'll need time. You can leave later today as long as someone will keep an eye on you," he said flicking his attention toward Zero. He gave a nod in response crossing his arms showing he's serious.
" Hey, take it easy!" Zero practically yells in my ear as he grabs me before I can fall through the door frame.
" I know what I'm doing," I strain to support my weight even with his help. " Take me to her," I say determination covering my moments ago strained voice.
" Okay," is all he said before we slowly made our way out of wherever we were. Zero had to guide me through the hallways, my vision still not completely back and along with my weak legs I must've looked like a drunken fool to anyone who passed by. Finally we stop in front of a door…I think. He pushes it open with his food before we processed. Even with my bad vision I could tell the room was filled with the remains of the sunset and the sweet smell of flowers filled my nose. The more we stumbled into the room the stronger the smell got, until finally we stopped and Zero let go of me. That's when my eyes finally cleared, tbe room was covered in lilies of all colors and laying in the middle of all of them was her. Dark hair sprawled around her, hands laying gently on a pale blue dress she is wearing. If I hadn't known it would've looked like she was sleeping, but I know the painful truth.
" She looks peaceful doesn't she," came a familiar voice, I turn and is greeted with a sympathetic filled smile from Noah. I give a nod, " Yeah, she does, it's difficult to believe, I'm expecting her to wake up and give me a snarky remark," he gives a half hearted chuckle. " Yeah, me and you both,"
" What'll happen to her?" I ask
" Tomorrow I'll be leaving and taking her home with me,"
" Oh," is all I could manage to say.
" I'll, be leaving now," Noah said, I don't respond after a few seconds pass before I hear footsteps leading away.
