I yawn and stretch my arms above my head as I start to wake up, I had some really weird dreams last night that I would much rather forget. Anyways pushing them to the back of my mind, I get out of bed and sleepily walk over and open the curtains. There's a beautiful sunrise in the horizon just past the tree line, the skyline Is bright orange with some yellows and reds. And the clouds look extra fluffy with a tint of orange in them, this all feels so surreal. Like at any giving moment I'm going to wake up back in my old bed in my mother's house, I hope not. I final feel like I've found where I'm meant to be, like I've always belonged in this world. Normal was never an option for me was it? But that's okay, because I finally belong. I know it sounds bazar, but I feel at home here.
Tearing my gaze of the sunrise I grab my bag off the chair beside the window and get my copy of 'The Hate U Give' out of it. I sat on the chair and read while watching the beautiful sunrise in front of me.
When the sun is fully up I've read five chapters, I should probably get change huh. I check the clock on the unit beside my bed to see its 8:03am. I go into the bathroom that's connected to my room and get showed and dressed, I just leave my hair down to air dry. When I'm coming out of the bathroom I hear a sharp knock on the door. It's only ten to nine, I walk to the door and open it to see Anna? "Anna" I said confused.
"Hey Hannah, Alpha Aaron wants to see you" she said.
"Why" I asked, why does he want to see me for.
"He didn't say" she said, she's not giving me anything to read off which is weird.
"Okay, give me a moment" I said shutting the door. Well that was weird, I put on my shoes and then go back out to Anna shutting the door after me. She leads me downstairs to the library.
"He's waiting for you in there" she said, okay she's starting to worry me. Whys she being so blunt, did I do something wrong? I open the door to the library and walk in, I can hear Anna shut the door after me. I see the man with the shaggy hair from earlier sitting at the desk in the middle of the room, his head snaps up when I walk in and he puts what he was doing aside.
"Heya shaggy, long time no see" I say causing him to roll his eyes.
"Sit" he said gesturing to the chair in front of him, I do as he asked.
"So, why did you ask for me" I asked getting strait to the point.
"I just wanted to make sure you're settling in okay is all" he said leaning back in his chair.
"Okay why did you actually want me" I said narrowing my eyes slightly at him.
"Okay fine" he said putting his hands up in surrender, "You got me. I want to get to know you is all".
"Oh really? is that all" I asked raising an eyebrow, "well I'm an open book. Ask away" I said leaning back in my chair, he thought for a minute before he finally asked me something.
"Why were you in the woods that night" he said.
"Getting straight to the point I see, I thought you would've asked something like my favourite colour or something" I said as a smile fought its way onto my face.
"I don't see the point in beating around the bush, I'm always blunt and get straight to the point" he said shrugging his shoulders.
"Okay well if you must know, I was running from something" I said sitting up straight once again.
"What were yo-" he started to say but I cut him off.
"Tot tot my turn, why were you out there that night. I know it was you" I said.
"I'm the Alpha, it's my duty to investigate anything that could be a danger to my pack" he said entwining his fingers on the table. "Whom or what were you running from".
"Naw I think I'll let you get creative with that one, I don't know much but I don't think it takes a genius to know that if you're running from something you don't tell a stranger" I said.
"But I'm not just a stranger, I'm your Alpha now and your living under my roof" he said getting a bit annoyed.
"Sorry but I am not telling you that so I would just drop it, you can ask me something else though" I said leaning back once again.
"Okay then, what's a few simple things about you like you favourite colour and animal" he said.
"Well my favourite colour is baby blue, my favourite animal is a wolf, I'm a early bird because I like to watch the sunrise, I like reading and I like the colder months the most because of how pretty everything looks as it dies. How about you" I asked.
"Wow that was kind of deep. My favourite colour is orange, my favourite animal is a Robin, and I'm also an early bird, I like running and I like the winter" he said. "What's something that just gives you the creeps".
"There's a couple but the worst is probably... a flamingo" I said and he burst out laughing and I couldn't help but laugh to, he's got one of those contagious laughs that you just can't help but join in on. "What their creepy, the way they look and stand and eww" I said as a shiver went down my spine. When the laughing died down I asked him something else. "What's your star sign".
"I'm a Leo, how about you" he asked.
"Ahhh that explains it, I'm an Aires" I said a slime tugging at my lips.
"What's that supposed to mean" he asked, slightly smiling too.
"Oh nothing" I said smirking slightly.
A moment went by were we just sat in a comfortable silence. "You know, you're not as bad as I thought you would be".
"Gee thanks, you're not too bad yourself" I said laughing slightly. "We should meet up some time, that is if you're not too busy doing" I gesture around us "well what is it your doing".
"Well while I was waiting for you I was answering letters from other Alphas" he said.
"Wait how many more Alphas are there out there" I asked curiously, maybe there's another six or ten. or maybe there's hundreds, thousands even.
"Well there would be maybe thousands Alphas in the world no one really knows, but there are around eight hundred packs give or take" he said.
"Wow that's a lot" I thought for a moment for my next question. "How long have you been an Alpha for" I asked.
"Well I had to take over when I was sixteen so for around three years" he said.
"Oh, that most have been so stressful" I said frowning my eyebrows slightly.
"Yeah" we sat In silence for another short while just enjoying each other's company. "Let me take you out on Saturday, I promise it'll be fun".
"Sure, I mean I don't see why not" I said.
"Thanks, I'll ask Anna to tell you the time" he said getting up with me following suit.
"I guess I'll see you soon" I said as I walked out and shut the door behind me. Anna was still standing outside and had a huge smile plastered on her face.
