Tingles

We have been walking for the past three hours straight without catching a break. What's worse, is that I barely understood what she have said about the facilities that we went through.

'Damn! How am I supposed to devise a plan of escape now?!' I thought to myself as I unconsciously gnawed on my bottom lip.

My feet were throbbing in pain and I didn't like the fact that I haven't eaten any snacks right now.

Yes, I'm glutton…

Vivian still kept babbling about historic events that took place in the building that we were in. I couldn't understand much since I gave up trying to understand her fast paced speaking.

I tell yah, her mouth is like a machine gun that doesn't know when to stop. She just keeps talking and talking, not seeming to notice if ever the one that she's supposed to be talking to could actually understand what she's saying.

'Where's the caring Vivian from earlier? Wasn't she supposed to look out for me more since I just got out of bed from healing?!' I thought exasperatedly.

After sighing helplessly, I then noticed that we're now exiting the building that we were currently in. This must be the fifth one we entered.

"Next up, we're going to the Class Cs Building," she chirps.

I nearly screamed at that, but my eyes were caught by an open field that was just up ahead.

I immediately perked up when I saw a row of benches set up on the sides of the large open field. Then, I realized that Vivian was tugging me to a different direction, which was the opposite of where the field was designated.

The last thread of patience in me snapped, so I stopped in my tracks, causing Vivian to jolt back to where I was standing.

"Hey! What did you do that for?" she said.

"I want to rest, my feet hurt already, I'm still healing you know," I said. Surprising myself as to how harsh that had sounded.

Vivian looked like she just realized something and began to panic.

"Gasp! Oh my! I'm so sorry! I forgot! I haven't been paying attention, I must've been annoying wasn't I? My bad, sorry, I'm such a bad caretaker, why haven't you told me sooner?" she sheepishly says.

Her expression was that of guilt, thus I immediately felt bad for calling her out like that. It was now my turn to panic.

"No, It's not like that, you've been such a big help. It's just that I felt tired and I didn't know how to tell you, because you seemed to be enjoying yourself," I said.

There was a moment of silence between us, but it faded the second that Vivian giggled.

"Fine, let's go take a break. Where do you want to go and rest? Should we head back?" she asks.

"Nah, let's go over there for now. I want to rest my feet before we head back to our dorm room," I said pointing towards the row of benches that I was staring at earlier.

Vivian nods and began to walk ahead.

I felt relieved the moment I sat on the benches. I stretched my legs and sighed in satisfaction. It felt like my toes could breathe again.

"Sorry for tiring you, I tend to be too enthusiastic sometimes, if you know what I mean," Vivian says with an embarrassed laugh.

I just offered her a crooked smile and looked at the field.

"So, what is this place?" I asked as admired the serenity of nature.

There was a huge patch of forest vegetation not too far from the field. I could smell the oak trees as the breeze blew past us.

"This is DR Academy's sports field. This is where most of the outdoor sports are held," she explains.

"As you can see, this is a very spacious ground that stretches from here to the very end of the school's property. This field can fit most of the students in this Academy," she says with a proud grin on her face.

I nodded in awe and let my eyes wonder.

Suddenly, as if a sudden tinge, my head darted towards the main building.

'I felt like someone was staring at me,' I thought as I scanned through every window to see if anyone was there.

But I couldn't see anyone but some passersby's.

I gave the building another ones over before turning away.

'Weird, I could have sworn someone was staring at me from behind,' I thought to myself.

After a moment, I just shook my head and forced myself not to overthink it.

I let my eyes wonder once more, suddenly, I felt like a there was something directing me to look at a certain direction.

My eyes landed on a certain building that was a bit further into the academy grounds. Though there were buildings before it and that they should have blocked it, the building was huge and grand that it was almost as imposing as the main building.

It was the same color and structure as that of the other smaller buildings, but it seemed to have some kind of certain appeal to it that it looked even more imposing not just from its size and height.

Along with the surge of awe that I felt, a wave of mixed emotions soon followed.

The longer I looked at the structure the more I seem to grow anxious.

"Uh—uhmm, Vivian, what's that place called?" I mindlessly asked.

I could feel Vivian look back at me, but I didn't meet her eyes for I was still staring at the building, unable to look away from it.

She must've followed where I was looking at because, there was a short pause and she soon responded.

"Oh, that? Hehe~ that's the elite building," she said.

It must have been just me, but I heard a slight waver in her voice as soon as she spoke.

"Elite building…? What's that?" I asked, genuinely curious.

I continued to stare at it while I tried to understand why I was reacting like this towards the structure in question.

'Why do I feel weird when I look at it…?' I thought to myself.
