-Basketball Court-
"What the hell! Are we stuck?!" Beca shouts anxiously.
Kai just stares at the door blankly.
"Uh oh..." he mumbles knowing that they're doomed.
-

-
"Is someone out there?!" Beca shouts from inside.
Kai tries to hit the door with his body wishing that he can break the door off.
"Please open the door!" he shouts desperately.
Beca grunts frustratingly and shouts, "It's no use! We can't get out of here!"
Kai looks at her and sighs.
"I'm sorry Bec, it's my fault..." he says guiltily.
Beca just glares at him for a second and asks, "Where's your phone?"
Kai stares at her with a guilty and doomed face while whispering, "in the locker..."
Beca's eyes goggled out and she rants anxiously, "What the hell, Kai! Mine's out of battery!"
They both look at each other with the same expression screaming, "We are so screwed."
They walk toward the bench heavy-heartedly.
"So, what are we gonna do?" Beca asks Kai with a serious tone.
Kai looks at her and frantically answers, "We wait...?"
Beca gasps exaggeratingly and shouts, "You're out of your mind!"
"Urgh, we don't have any choice!" Kai screams while lying on the bench.
Beca rolls her eyes and sits beside him with a frustrated frown.
Her face suddenly brightens up and she cheerfully suggests, "Ooh! Let's play some games!"
Kai stares at her skeptically and mutters, "What games...?"
"Truth or dare!" she energetically shouts.
Kai scoffs and answers casually, "We already know all the dirt about each other, Beca."
"Oh, come on! There must be something that we both hide, right? It'll be fun!" Beca persuades him with glittery eyes.
Kai squints his eyes for a second but decides to follow her game, "Urgh, fine!"
Beca claps her hands excitedly and looks deeply into his eyes.
"You like Val, don't you..." she says with teasingly eyes.
Kai's eyes widen and he looks away.
Only silence and Beca's nose are filling the air until he says, ".... N-nope! I don't like her that way!"
Beca looks at him suspiciously for a second and then casually threatens him, "Well, I'll have to persuade her to go to the homecoming with Peter or Mike, then..."
"Oh, come on! It's not fair!" Kai complains.
"Well, it's time to tell the truth then!" she says while shouting cheerfully.
Kai looks away and says while looking down, "I-I don't know what I feel, okay... This is all so... new to me... I'm not sure about what I'm feeling right now..."
"But you're still gonna take her for homecoming, right?" Beca asks him.
Kai immediately and nervously responds, "O-Of course! I just... I need time to ask her, okay..."
"Well, you gotta be fast! Homecoming is two days away..." Beca says with a little bit of worry in her eyes.
They both stay there, sharing secrets and spending some unexpectedly good quality time together. Although they thought they couldn't get any much closer, they did. It seems like being trapped or stuck in a school for the whole night is not too scary when you have a good company.
It's in the morning, a janitor opens the door. The sounds wake them up after sleeping on the crappy benches.
"We're stuck here all night, Carls!" Beca complains to him while rubbing her eyes.
Kai follows Beca out of the room and says, "Next time, make sure that no one's inside the court, Carls... See ya," while still gathering his soul.
Beca blocks Kai from exiting the door with her right hand. She looks at him and says, "Our lips are supposed to be sealed, Jenkins..."
Kai giggles and says, "Yeah, those would be worth telling, but mine are sealed..." while doing the gesture.
They both get out of the court and see that Val is standing in the hallway, looking frantic.
Val turns her body and she sees Kai.
She sighs relievedly and shouts, "What the hell, Kai?! Where have you guys been!" which makes Caleb and the others notice the both of them.
Val runs with her black boots to Kai and falls into his arms. She hugs him tightly and whispers while out of breath, "We were worried sick about you guys..."
Kai hugs her tighter and says, "I-I'm sorry! Our phones were-" and stops because Val is hugging him tighter. He realizes that all that matters is they both are safe.
While Val runs to Kai, Caleb runs toward Beca and shouts anxiously, "We searched for you the whole night!"
The six of them hug each other, one by one, until Joanne asks furiously, "Where were you guys?!"
Caleb, Val, and Felix stare at them while holding their anger.
Kai and Beca look at each other, feeling guilty.
They turn away and point at the Basketball Court.
The rest of them look at each other and rant at the same time,
"Of course, school!"
"Why didn't we think of that!"
"Seriously!"
"What the hell happened to modern communication?!"
Beca casually asks, "Wait, you guys didn't search the school?"
They look at each other, knowing that they screwed up, and Joanne carefully says, "Well... the thought had occurred to me..."
"We didn't think that you guys would be in such a creepy place at night!" Caleb shouts.
Felix gasps and anxiously whispers, "Did you guys see the gho-?"
"Don't mention it, Felix!" Val cuts him frantically.

-When they realized that Kai and Beca were missing-
Val opened Kai's bedroom and she found no one there.
She thought for a second and said, "Well... he wouldn't be kidnapped... right...? Well, of course... this is not some crappy horror movie... hahaha..." while looking around anxiously.
She walked into his bathroom and Kai was still nowhere to be found.
She knocked into Ethan's door and he opened it.
"Val, what's up?" Ethan asked her with a surprised tone.
"Have you seen Kai?" she asked him worriedly.
Ethan looked around him and says calmly, "No... he's not in his room?"
Val grunted and rushed downstairs.
She dashed around the house and Kai was nowhere to be found.
Ethan appeared and concernedly asked, "you still haven't found him yet?"
"Your parents are home, right?" Val firmly asked him.
"No... they're out of town..." Ethan replies skeptically.
Val glared at him and firmly said, "Don't tell them yet... I gotta go find him,"
She rushed out of Kai's house and looked at her phone which was already ringing.
"Beca's not home, again!" Caleb shouted.
"Kai too..." Val answered while grasping the air.
Ethan followed her out, out of breath, and said, "I'll come with you."

-The beach, Tortoise Point-
Val searched through the beach and Kai was still nowhere to be found.
"What the hell, Kai... You either go to the beach or my doorstep..." she mumbles to herself.
Ethan sighs and says, "Hey, everything's gonna be okay... We'll find him..." to calm her down.

-The Park-
Caleb was out of breath. He sat on the swing while resting.
"She was here the first time she ran away..." Caleb said with concerns.
Joanne sighed and cautiously said, "What if she didn't run away this time... My guess is she's with Kai now..."
"You guys haven't found them yet?!" Val shouted from afar.
They all looked at her and saw Ethan standing behind her.
Val ran to them and Joanne hugged her tight while the others greeted Ethan.
"Who do you think will go missing the next time," Felix joked.
They just glared at him and was not saying anything.
"Oh, it's fine when Val and Caleb joke about stuff?!" Felix complained.
Val slapped Felix's cheek softly and said, "Dude, the timing..." while smiling sarcastically.
Joanne started to lead the search and said, "Let's focus guys... I think they're stuck somewhere... They're not running away. My first guess is school."
Val gasped and cautiously asked, "The school...?"
Felix started to get paranoid too and said, "You don't think... they met..." and whispered, "the ghosts, right...?"
Joanne rolled her eyes and snapped, "Oh, come on! You guys aren't making any sense."
"But, the school's locked at night. We can't get in there..." Ethan said.
Caleb warily said, "Okay this might sound crazy... But what if they drink too much and you know... at someone else's bedroom. I mean different bedrooms..."
"You mean they hooked up with other people?" Joanne asked Caleb skeptically.
Val frowned and snapped, "What?! That's so not Kai!"
"Well... they both are strong... I don't think they'll get kidnapped... I'm not saying that Caleb is right, but it's a possibility that they're safe right now..." Joanne sided with Caleb to calm them down.
Val scoffed and shouted, "Well, there's also a possibility that they're not safe! Look, if you're not gonna search for them, I will!"
Ethan quickly grabbed her shoulder and softly said while looking deep into her eyes, "Val, I know my brother. He's safe now... Just, calm down... okay?"
His words started to make Val less worked up and calmed down now.
"We don't have any choice, Val. You don't wanna call the principal and make a fuss, right? You said yourself it's best if our parents don't know about this. Let's wait until tomorrow... Okay?" Joanne reasoned with her.
Val sighed and firmly said with rage in her eyes, "If they don't show up tomorrow morning, we're searching for them..."

-In front of Val's house-
Ethan stood in front of her and smiled sweetly. "Hey, he's gonna be fine... You gotta trust him, okay?" said Ethan.
Val put up a smile in front of him to hide her worries.
"You don't think Kai's actually hooking up with someone, do you...?" Val cautiously asked Ethan.
Ethan hesitated for a second, but he said, "I don't think it's impossible..."
Suddenly, fear crept into her mind. The idea of Kai on someone else's bed, getting wasted together and touching each other's skin, was piercing her heart.
She hesitated for a moment, but she finally grabbed Ethan's hand and said, "Hey, Ethan... Do you already have a... date for the homecoming...?"
Ethan's eyes widened and the corner of his lips started to form a smile.
"Did you change your mind?" he asked her with butterflies in his stomach.
Val just smiled and looked down.
Ethan took a step closer and he softly touched Val's blond straight hair.
He looks into her eyes and sweetly asked, "Do you wanna be my date for homecoming?"
Val chuckled while looking down.
She put up a smile and said, "Sure..."
Ethan smiled widely and took steps away from her. He turned away while taking a peek on her, who's getting inside her house.
Val got inside and she leaned on the door. She looked up at the ceiling and mumbled, "Where are you...?" with fear and longing in her eyes.
She tried her best to block out the image of Kai's skin-to-skin with another girl, but it wasn't going well for her. She tried to go up to her room with heavy and trembling feet.

-After they found Kai and Beca-
"Seriously? You thought we were hooking up with other people?" Kai complains.
"You guys are so inappropriate! I would totally do that, but this angel over here won't even drink alcohol without our watch," Beca says while pointing at Kai.
"Hey!" Kai just complains at her which makes them all burst to laugh. After a whole night of searching and getting worried about them, they are finally together now.
They can stand together side by side, to laugh all the pain away, and to be there for each other. That's what matters for them, at least for now.

-Free period, Hallway-
Kai and Val are standing side by side in front of their lockers. He takes a peek on her and says, "Hey, Val..." and
Gets cut by Val saying, "Last night, Ethan asked me again... to be his date... and I said yes..."
Kai's eyes widened and his heart sinks. He tries his best to force a smiley face and responds, "Oh, that's...great! You guys will have so much fun!"
"Yeah... Oh, have you found a date, yet?" Val asks him casually.
Kai hesitates for a second and says, "Yeah, of course I already have!" but he doesn'. Moreover, Val doesn't know that.
The smile on Val's face is gone and she feels like her best friend is somewhat distant now, for not telling her about that.
"Well, I gotta go," She quietly says to him without looking into his eyes like she's used to.
Kai looks at her back slowly going away from him. He can see her keep getting further away between the sea of people in the hallway. He can see that she's not looking back.
