Chapter Eight~ I like You
*back to Kara's pov*
I calm myself a little bit before pulling away from him
"I'm feeling better.. Thanks". I smile slightly looking at him then down to his shirt. "Oh! Umm..sorry I ruined your shirt!"I whisper embarrassed. My cheeks must be red again.
"It's ok, you can buy me a new one" he smiles
I laugh,"yeah..now I should" I joke
"Feeling better?"he asks
"Much better, thanks"I reply
"Hey, stop thanking me ok. You don't have to be formal with me"Alex frowns
"You must think I'm weak"I say quietly not expecting him to hear me but he did.
"No you're not! In fact I see that you are quite confident and the kindest girl I've ever met"Alex replies fiercely
"Then I should be able to make better decisions in my life"I say hotly as I clench my fists in anger
"Nobody can guarantee that they will always make a right call. It's BECAUSE you're kind that you're afraid to hurt somebody. Don't think you're weak. Ok?"he says quietly
"It's part of the reason why you don't take relations for granted"he laughs, "but if people take you for granted it's their LOSS, NOT YOURS!!. Now I just want to see you smile OKAY? No more hurting".he looks at me
I look to him, a little smile playing on my lips
"No more hurting"I smile
"Good...you look prettier with a smile"he compliments
I snort"I must look horrible right now!"
"You've never looked more perfect... I like you Kara! And I cannot EVER see you break. I'm right here with you always!"
I stiffen shocked. Did Alex just confess his feelings to me? So much is happening but I'm too vulnerable right now to say anything with the right mind.
"Alex...I..d.."I'm really speechless
"You don't have to say it back. Take your time. I'm here with you however you want me to be in your life" he says gently and smiles

It has been a couple of weeks since Alex confessed his feelings to me and he's leaving no stone unturned to show that he's worth it. All the while making me feel special and more confident about myself.
I can't stop thinking about him. He is still true to his word...And hasn't let my silence affect our relationship. I didn't know how and when I started relying on him so much that I..I just can't imagine him not being here now.
Few days back we went for a late night ice cream with Sara and Max. It was so much fun eating ice cream in the cold. When dad was not here for the weekend, I went to Saras and we ended up watching a movie.
*Flashback*
I can't believe she slept!" Alex exclaims amused
"Me neither. I really wanted to watch this movie"I say not feeling so amused. I throw a pillow at her. Nothing. Typical Sara.
Alex laughs "she's out like a light"
"She won't budge"I say trying to wake her
"Soo? We will watch it" Alex says after my failed attempts
"But-"
"Ssshhh. We will" Alex raised a finger to me but quickly removed it. "No if no but Kara...we are watching this movie especially after you made such a big deal about it" he says finally
"I mean c'mon it's Sandra Bullocks. How come you've never seen it? I ask
"I just haven't..what's the name again?he asks
" 'WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING!'. It's a classic!"I say
"I thought you only liked animated movies"he teased
"That's not true!" I exclaim
"Let's put it on then..wait! I will get popcorn". He says getting up
"Okay"I snuggle on the couch
"Get settled"he says
"Alex?"I call
"Yes Kara?"he answers
"I'm actually a little chilly.."I say
He laughs "I know. I'll get the blanket".he heads to get the popcorn
"Thank youuuu. I lo-"(so CLOSE! What was I about to say? )
Alex suddenly turned around.
"What? You said something?" Alex asks
"I love this movie" I say smiling brightly hoping he'll buy it
"Oh okay"he continues to the kitchen. Gosh!!
"Settled!"he says getting comfy on the couch with the popcorn and blanket
"Ok. I'm playing now."I say
"Go ahead. BTW, you sure it's not boring?"he asks skeptically
"Shut up It's not! Now shush"I say as I press play. Alex just laughs.
I intently watch Alex interest grow as the story progresses.
2 hours later
"Sooo? You liked it?"I ask though I'm sure he does.
"I-"he pauses and laughs, " it was alright"he says
"REALLY?"I frown, not really what I expected his reaction to be
"Yep. I mean classic or not, it was pretty average. I thought you had great taste in movies" he teases
I threw a pillow on his face!
"Aggressive are we?"he asks a smile playing on his face. " 'NOT ONE MORE PILLOW' or you'll regret it" he says a glint in his eyes
"Really? And what is it that you would do?" I tease grabbing a pillow
"I still haven't forgotten that you're quite ticklish..AM I RIGHT?" he smiles knowing quite well that's he's right
"You wouldn't dare"I narrow my eyes
"Try me!"he said mimicking my actions
"You wouldn't dare"I say again this time nervously. "I think I'm gonna go upstairs". I can't take the tickling
"Don'tttt!! wait! I'm just messing with you"he laughs, "I won't do it!"he says hands up
"Phew!!"I sigh in relief wiping imaginary sweat from my brows
"I loved the movie" he says grinning
"You did?I ask excited
"Yep!"he says the popping the 'p'
"Yes"I hug him happily
"Well I can watch it again if it means I get to hug you"he says smiling. I pull away shyly with my pounding heart
"Umm..got carried away..sor-"I say
"That's alright" Alex cuts me off, "I mean we just watched a rom-com soo...I'm totally down you hugging me BTW"he says laughing
"St-stop!!"I say stuttering
Alex laughs "ms. stutter. You're blushing again"he teases
I hide my face in the pillow
" 'DON'T HIT AGAIN' or there will be consequences you wouldn't like"he says. "Lately you've been looking for excuses to touch me huh?"he smiles
I can't look at him right now.
"I should be verryyy careful around you Missy"he states still teasing
"Ugghhh...Go Away!" I say muffled into the pillow still over my face
"Haha you're too cute for your own good. C'mon look at me, I won't tease anymore!"he says.
We both talked for another two hours before drifting into sleep on the couch. It was by far the best time i have ever had with him.
