"Probably not. The only people who knew I transferred here is you and the dean. Also, my class don't start until next week but I am free to roam around the school. Pretty neat huh?" He winked. Catherine giggled. "Why did you enroll though? I mean, you already know how to run the company. The whole ins and outs."
"I'd like to see for myself what it is like there. It is hard to handle both worlds but if I get to know what you've been up to, it's fine. Besides, you attract a lot of weird people. Take Kingsley for example."
Catherine pressed his body onto his. She hugged him tightly and looked up. "I can't believe you right now, my best friend is being so adorable right now."
"Adorable?"
"Yeah, adorably stupid and handsome at the same time." Victor's gaze turned to slits. "Making sure you are safe is not stupid you know."
"Going here just because you are worried about me is, you dumdum. You can just call me every now and then. Problem solved. Besides, you shouldn't spend so much time on me. Didn't you say you have a fiancée? She might take it the wrong way."
Victor forgot about her. The fiancée his step mother set him up. His wretched father is on his deathbed. Probably because of his step mother but Victor couldn't care less since, he didn't even want him to begin with. Knowing he is the only heir who can success him, his father had no choice.
"Oh her? I made sure I ended things with her while I was in France and that is the reason why I can't openly communicate with you. My step mother might suspect something."
"Oh, I see. Good for you, I guess? Sorry I really don't know how to react to that."
"No need to overthink it Rosie… Say, what is your label with Kingsley anyway? I'd really hate it if you have a thing for him. Like for real this time. I don't like him."
"You hate all of my crushes and don't get me wrong I'm not crushing on Grey, he kind of likes me. Well, that is what he said. But I really don't know the real label. Are we friends? Are we kind of dating? Or is he just with me because he has no other genuine friends? It's so hard Vic."
It was true, Victor hated all of Catherine's crushes. He made sure none of them could get close to her. He always has minions to take care of people like him. "If he is stressing you out then don't be with him, easy." Is what he said but what he meant to say is, 'Don't you ever be with him Rosie, just be with me.'
"I can't just do that Grey will find a way to get to me. I hate to admit it but there is something about him I'd like to know. Something about him screams thrill and mystery. You get me right?"
Victor can't hide his frown any longer. "Thrill? Mystery? What would you gain from any of that huh? What about me Rosie? I just arrived and you're not spending any time with me. You're all out with Kingsley. I'm supposed to be the first, not him."
His eyes flickered something dangerous but Catherine didn't know what it is. She knew how attached he is to her. She just can't put him aside. She pinched both of his cheeks. "Fine, fine. I'll tell Grey I can't meet up with him more a few weeks since you're here."
Before Victor could counter her statement, his phone started ringing. It was his step mother calling. "I should go Rosie. You know how impatient my step mother is. We'll take more about this." He hugged Catherine one last time and exited the room.
He got out of the building and a car was waiting for him. "Stay safe boss." The two bodyguards said simultaneously. He sat on the backseat. The driver spoke in a deep stoic tone. "Boss, Ms. Ratchet demands to speak with you. She lashed out on the staff at the western area. She says that if you don't show up next week at her mansion, she will take her anger out on Young mistress Catherine."
Lucia Ratchet was Victor's former fiancée, but he already ended things with her. Lucia knew about Catherine's existence and how big she filled Victor's life. Victor massaged his temples. "That bitch is giving me unnecessary trouble. I have a date with Rosie next week... Tell her to move it tomorrow."
"Yes boss."
