Catherine had insecurities but Victor made sure she didn't feel any of that. He made her feel confident and happy. One by one the tears poured. "P-please stop."
Their laughing echoed through the halls, along with many others. It surrounded her. The noises made her feel suffocated. Her legs started trembling and she can hardly breathe. She whispered.
"In-inhaler."
The girls continued with their bullying. "Can't take a little prank? Do you need your little inhaler?" Their mocking stopped when she dropped on the floor. Her hands on her chest, she couldn't breathe anymore.
"We better go, the teachers might suspend us." Before they could leave the dying girl. Victor finally came after he was alerted of what was happening.
Everything went static.
He saw Catherine's trembling figure on the ground and the three girls who harassed her. One of them said confidently. "We took care of the trash Vic, you sh-" He pushed her, hard. She fell down the floor.
"Better leave before I destroy your lives." He gave them an ultimatum. His death glare was enough to make them run for their about to be ruined lives.
He reached out for his pocket to take out an inhaler. When she bought one for herself, he bought another one for emergencies. Slowly, Catherine gasped for air. She tried to recuperate. After she was stable enough for transport.
He immediately picked her up and soothe her. "Rosie, I'm here. I'm here. Just a little longer until we reach the infirmary, okay?"
He ran like he never did before. His calm demeanor clearly disrupted. He eyes had tears on the sides as he frantically opened the door.
"Nu-nurse! Please help Rosie!"
The nurse saw the shivering girl on his arms. "Calm down, what happened?"
The nurse examined Catherine. Sweaty, pale face and exhausted frame. She checked her pulse and breathing.
'She's okay. Just a panic attack. Another bullying case.'
"She wa-was harassed by one of the girls in our class. I a-arrived late a-and-"
The woman in her late 40s placed her hands on his shoulders. "You have to calm down. We can report this to the teacher and principal for a proper statement. She had a panic attack. She'll wake up anytime soon so for the meantime, go back to class. I'll report this to the principal now."
The nurse got out the room and headed to the principal's office. Victor didn't to what she said. He stayed holding his Rosie's hand kissed her knuckles.
"I'm sorry Rosie. I'm so sorry." He sniffled. "If only I was a little early. If only I didn't get separated from you. I'm so sorry." He pleaded for her forgiveness.
"I'll make them pay. I'll make them receive ten times the pain they gave you. I promise."
