After a few days of contemplating and finishing projects, Catherine decided to call Victor. Her hectic schedule didn't help her in clearing things up with him. She likes to get all of the hassle before doing something that will add to that.
Her old phone rung. As if on cue, Victor is calling. "Hey Rosie, you busy?"
"No... Hey Victor, something happened to my phone. Like deleted messages and all that. Did you do it?"
She immediately cut to the chase. She's been meaning to know everything. The motive, reason and all that is in between. "Yeah, why?"
"What do you mean 'why'? You messed with my phone and didn't even tell me." She held one of her temples. "You could've left a text or something. Not only that, were you ever planning to tell me?"
"I don't understand why you are so angry. I did something like that in the past, you didn't even mind it."
"That's because I was there when you did it!"
Catherine heard his long sigh over the phone. "I notice the guys there weren't all polite with you, it got me angry so I deleted it. I figured you won't mind it. Besides, you don't need toxic people ruining your life."
He added. "Also, again, I didn't bother telling you because you wouldn't care about simple texts."
"Victor… I get where this is coming from but this is beyond messing with my privacy. I need some space too. You get why I'm upset right?"
"Yeah… I'm sorry Rosie. I guess I should've told you, your phone is still your property. Let's go get burgers and fries now since you're not busy." She agreed. "See you at 10."
"Are you at your apartment now?"
"Yup." She said popping the p. "Come down, I'm here." She opened her window and saw his black car there. He waved at her. "You were there the whole time?!"
"Yeah, either way, if you're busy, I would be the one to come up there and help you. Well since you're not, go change and come here quickly."
She closed her window shut and changed into an oversized beige hoodie and black loose pants. Nude shoes to go with it. She fixed her hair into a low ponytail and grabbed the sling bag hanging from her closet.
A sense of déjà vu rushed over. It was the very same one when she was attacked and Victor sent them to the hospital. She came down through the flight of stairs and headed to where he was at.
She wasn't the type to get attacked. If anything, that was her first time being harassed like that, others would just catcall. They were in the wrong place doing wrong things at the wrong time. Poor unfortunate souls.
"Right, hop in." They got in and their next destination was the nearest Burger King. "Rosie, are you still upset with me?"
"A little bit, but I'll be fine." A pregnant pause kicked in. Victor glanced at her to see what she's doing. "Anything interesting at the window?" He chuckled.
"Nah, I realized I left my phone by the drawer. It was right next to my sling bag too!"
"Still so forgetful Rosie." He took out his phone from his pocket and handed it to her. "Here.
"You can play Candy Crush or something there." She giggled. Victor had two phones. One for business related things and handling unwanted people. As a person with not so many friends, he had few contacts on his second phone.
