Catherine arrived at the doorstep of her home all slump and groggy. Peanut, with her tail wagging and energetic welcome, the sad brunette felt a little better. "I'm back." She noticed Grace wasn't home.
"She probably left." Catherine looked from left to right. She sighed as she sat at the grey sofa. "I'm so tired and pissed and tired." The loyal Peanut titled her head. "Yeah Peanut, mom is that tired."
After laying flat for a couple of minutes, she got up. "Alright, since it's still my day off I should just sleep. Yeah, sleep sounds good." She decided she wouldn't talk to either of them until her anger subsides.
She'll ignore them for a week, tops. That is how she controls her anger. She will ignore the person who caused it for days until she felt better. She hated confrontation so might as well pretend to not know that human.
The things she bought today were placed on top of her desk. She removed her shoes and plopped on her bed. "I'll just pretend that this day didn't happen." Everything drained her. Shopping, eating and stopping their useless quarrels.
The clicking sounds of her clock soothed her nerves. Others found it annoying but as of the moment, it brought her peace. She didn't spare any thought about Grey and Victor. Whatever they had, that would be between them.
She'll just try her best to stop them if things would get too violent. After years of being with Victor, she took responsibility of his actions. Sleep filled her. Peanut slept beside her. Her warm body against Catherine's.
German Shepherds grow generally as large dogs. The pup wasn't too big to engulf her but she is a little heavy. Catherine didn't care. It is what she needed right now. A soul who can lighten up her spirits.
"They were right. Dogs are angels in disguise."
On the other hand, Grey wore no expression. Eyes fixated on the large untainted glass window by his living room. He crossed his arms as he watched the fluffy white clouds pass by. He never intended to reveal to his rival one of the secrets he knew about him.
In that scenario, it's best to scare of the prey. He never liked competition. Heck, he wouldn't think of it that way since, he knew he is the winner.
Giving Catherine some space would help her in the least. "I'll just meet up with her tomorrow." He sighed. Even when he couldn't spend the day with her alone but it wasn't a complete loss.
He made Victor know who he is up against.
Victor Rovanovich had more secrets than Matthew Grey Kingsley. First off, his unhealthy obsession with his childhood friend. Second, stolen pictures. Third, the way he isolated her from everyone from elementary to high school.
Catherine had the freedom to find herself new friends when she entered college. Knowing Victor, he would make sure she is within his radar. Finding out who she's with, at or her schedule of the day.
