After we left the office, we made our way along the passage to Sally's room. Her door was pink, with a painted teddy-bear on it. I knocked on the door thrice, waiting to see if Sally was in there. We waited for a few seconds before the door swung open, revealing Sally in her dress wearing a crown.
"Oh! Tim, Mel! Are you here for the tea party?" Sally asked us, while I exchanged a confused look with Tim.
"No…...sorry, Sally. Do you have any storage boxes for your toys that we could have? It's very important." Tim said, as Sally nodded.
"Yeah, I do! Come in while I get them!" She happily bounded over to a corner of her room, getting the boxes as Tim and I entered the room. The room was entirely pink, covered with teddies and toys. In the left corner of her room was her bed, coated with pink bedsheets. In the centre of the room was a small table, with four chairs surrounding it. One chair was obviously for Sally, as three others were already sat down. Ben was sat on a green chair, talking to Jane who was on his left. Next to Jane was Natalie, who was now looking at us.
"So, what have you two been up to with Brian?" Natalie asked, standing up to come over to us.
"We've been looking through the office." Tim replied, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Oh, are you going to use the boxes to keep things in then?" Natalie assumed. I nodded, looking over in Sally's direction.
"Do you all have these tea parties often?" I pondered, looking at Natalie.
She shrugged, "Well, she has tea parties basically every day, but it's only Tuesdays which Jane and I are here." She clarified, making me nod.
"Okay, here are your boxes!" Sally bounced back over to us, holding the boxes up so that we could grab them. I pulled them into my arms, grinning down at Sally. The boxes were pink, obviously.
"Thanks, Sally. You've been a great help." I smiled at the girl. She waved her hand excitedly to us as we left. Tim waved back with less enthusiasm, as I tried to wave back despite having the boxes in my hand. I pulled my knee up to my chest, balancing the boxes with an arm on my knee as I managed to wave back, making Sally giggle as I did so.
We walked back to the office, Tim opening the door for me when we got there. "Thanks." I smiled, laying the boxes on the floor beside the bookcase.
"Oh, you guys are back." Brian stated, standing up and coming over to us. "I've nearly finished putting all the files back." He added, making me grin over at him. He returned the smile, before looking at Tim.
"Tim, I was thinking about something pretty important while the two of you were gone." Brian started, a frown present on his face, "We were proxies of Slender, but now he's gone what do we do?" He asked, making the smile on my face fall. Tim shrugged, letting out a cough as he did so. He reached into his pocket, grabbing a cigarette. He lit it, inhaling its fumes.
"I really don't know…" Tim murmured, looking between Brian and I. "If anything, we'll just kill whoever we feel like. We can be free." Tim said, a small smile appearing on his face.
"Ah, about that…..." I began, making the two look my way. "Why don't you just kill the bad guys of the world?" I asked, making the two share a look.
"why didn't I think of that?" Tim asked himself, and both Brian and I responded with two answers.
"Because you're old." I said, a cheeky smirk on my face.
However, Brian had a comforting tone, "Because you're stressed." We had spoke at the same time, making us go silent as we looked at each other.
"Isn't that the same thing?" I asked them, "Old and stressed?" Neither spoke, Tim only shaking his head in mock exasperation.
"Anyway," Tim began, looking at the two of us. "Don't we have a job to do?" He reminded us, making us nod.
"Need some help getting everything boxed?" Brian inquired, but Tim shook his head.
"Nah," He began, shaking his head lightly, "We'll be okay. You can just finish up with the files and then you can meet us in Little Woods' room when you're done."
Brian nodded, before looking at us both. "I don't think your brothers will like this friendship, Little Woods." Brian teased, making my face flush in embarrassment.
"Don't even mention my overprotective brothers," I sighed, "You know I've never actually had any friends except from them until now?" I asked them, making them stare, mouth agape.
"Really?" Brian asked, "Why?"
"Well nobody wanted to be friends with the orphan whose brother killed most of her family and her other brother came back from the dead." I sighed once more, crossing my arms.
"I am glad everything went this way though," I started, a smile dancing on my lips, "If Randy, Troy and Keith hadn't showed up I wouldn't have met Keith. Although we had a bad meeting, he's a god guy. And uh... I wasn't very fond of mom, or dad. But hey! I met all of you so that's great! I finished, making them nod in understanding.
"Most of our lives have been better since we came here, even though it was horrible with the big man here. Now he's gone, it's going to be much better." Tim smiled, extending a hand. I too it as Brian went back to the filing cabinet, us going over to the bookcase. I separated the stack of boxes so that they were all on their own, and then pointed to a stack of English books.
"Can we have all of those books in this box?" I queried, making Tim nod and begin placing them all in the box. I moved onto a pile which was written in Latin, putting them all into a separate box. I did the same for the books in Ancient Greek, and the books written in symbols. Once the books were all piled into four different boxes, I stood up, making Tim do the same.
"We should drop these off." I stated, picking up one box and stacking it on top of another. I grabbed them both and then sighed. "Why is it whenever I carry two boxes, they always limit my vision? I whispered to myself, laughing a little. Tim picked up the other two boxes of books, still able to see perfectly over the top of the boxes.
"Okay, so you can see over the top of your boxes, right?" Tim asked, and I nodded, but he couldn't see that.
"Yeah, I can." I lied.
"Okay then, how many fingers am I holding up?" Tim asked, his tone of voice sounding like he knew I couldn't see.
"Okay, you may have to guide me a little." I admitted, making Tim aware of my predicament.
"Just walk forward and I'll open the door. Once out, just walk to your left and I'll tell you when to stop, okay?" Tim briefed me through what we'll do, making me happy that I'm not doing this alone.
"Yeah, okay." I replied, beginning to walk forward. I heard the door open, so I began to walk to my left, stopping when Tim told me so. Tim opened my bedroom door, and this time I let him go first. We both went in, Tim immediately placing the boxes down. I did the same, going over to the bed.
"They can definitely fit under here." I assessed, going back to grab a box. I pushed it under, as Tim brought the other boxes over. He pushed one in as I pushed the third box under. He grabbed the fourth one, pushing it in so that the four were in a line tight against the wall.
We made our way back without saying anything, as soon as we opened the office door we were met with Brian, who had the last box in his hands, filled with the spell ingredients. "Oh, hey." Brian smiled, making his way to my room as we followed him. "I was just on my way."
"Yeah we can see that." I said, opening the door of my room for him. I motioned for the box and he gave it to me. I made my way to my bed, crouching down and pushing it so that it was beside the other four.
"Well then, that's it." I said, sitting on top of my bed. "What now?" I asked, throwing myself back and stretching my arms out.
"Well, I think Brian and I should talk to toby about your idea of going after bad guys." Tim said, looking at Brian who nodded, "You're free to do whatever you want now, Little Woods."
"Maybe you could check out the library. You did say you wanted to begin translating those books. Tim knows Latin, so maybe you could focus on Ancient Greek." Brian stated, making me raise an eyebrow.
"There's a library?"
