The roars of fire roasted around them as if to burn them whole. Clawed hands reached out looking for flesh; teeth, sharp as knives, looked for prey as it sunk deeper into skin and muscles.
A howl from pain; a cry from anger, and laugher rang through the clearing of dust and debris.
"Such strength, and you waste it," her father scowled as he whipped his tail at her.
Eve dodged and used her sword to slash her father, but her father held it in his hand and grinned.
"All this, for a boy," her father laughed, "Such pity."
Eve glared at her father as she dematerialized her sword to stab her nails into her father's shoulder. He let out a grunt and narrowed his eyes. His tail wrapped around and stabbed itself into her stomach where blood rushed down her body like running water.
"Stupid child," her father threw her away from him, as her claws removed itself from his shoulder.
"So many options for others: men, women, whatever you please," her father walked toward where she laid, "The embodiment of all sins and you choose one man."
Eve stood up holding her stomach as it healed itself.
"I may be stupid for loving just him," she said as she materialized her sword from behind her father, "But at least I love, unlike you father."
The sword pierced her father's back through his stomach. He howled out creating a large tremble on land as he kneeled.
"Now tell me," she took quiet steps to him, "Where is Adam?"
Her father looked up at her and laughed so hard, the sword that pierced him wiggled where it stuck.
"What makes you think I have it?" her father stood pulling the sword out with his tail and tossed it away.
Wiping dirt off his shoulders and knees, he quirked a brow at her. The large wound from his chest could be seen stitching skin together.
"I was told," Eve said with narrowed eyes as she glowed bright from her symbols.
"Told?" her father laughed again and Eve was tired of hearing that deadly sound.
"Do not lie to me," she stared blankly at her father as she walked toward him.
"You knew why I called you," he heard her say as he was frozen in place, "You knew what I was searching for," he felt as if his human skin was melting onto his muscle, "Give me what I want father or I'll kill everything on this planet," her breath against his face was as cold as the very pits of Hell, "And no one will pray for you."
How dare she! How dare his daughter do this to him! He unleashed his inner power and growled. The golden glow of his symbol etched itself onto his skin. Ripping away his human skin, he stood his full height above his daughter.
Large and intimidating he was.
"You foolish child," his voice echoed, "You dare-"
"Yes," she spoke up with no fear, "Until you return him to me."
'She thinks-! Fool!'
He spreads his wings, as dark as the bottomless pit of a well, he soared high. His daughter just stood there, watching as he no longer recognized her from the distance. Swiftly aiming down like a bullet spear heading to his target, he attacked.
He thought he made his hit, but Eve had stopped his movement with nothing but a hold. He was tossed away like he was nothing more than a piece of unwanted scrap. Shaking his head from the throw, he sat up ready to move once more, but he felt a sharp sting in between his legs.
"I will not ask nicely again," Eve stated as her blade moved lightly against her father's privates.
Her father's eyes widened before narrowing it at her.
A moment, stillness, as both father and daughter stared at one another.
"I do not have him," he said and Eve pressed the blade closer.
"I speak the truth!"
"I do not believe you."
"What purpose would I have to keep him!"
"To use me."
From the look on her father's face, Eve knew she was right. Always a pawn in their game and she was done with it. All she wanted with Adam.
"I would, if I were to have him," he said and Eve narrowed her eyes.
"If you are lying, I will kill you," she pulled her sword away, "I won't hesitate, father."
Her father nodded and stood up slowly as if she would strike him at any moment.
"We shall meet again, Eve," he stated, turned, and like a gust of smoke, he was gone.
Eve stood there for a moment before looking up at the sky.
"You've sent your angels to lie to me," she laughed as she glared, "Now you will know the consequences."
Teleporting, she stood before the cathedral of where the two angels were left at. Walking in, she saw both still chained and stared at her as she entered.
"I will give you one more chance," she smiled sweetly at them, "Where is he?"
"Your father has him," Zadkiel spoke up with his big brown eyes, "Please, Demon Eve. May we return now?"
Zadkiel, the angel of freedom and mercy, not the angel of truth and honesty.
"Of course, Zadkiel," she moved to stand before him, "I shall let you return to Him."
Zadkiel was about to say thank you, but the chains were burning his skin making him scream in terror.
"Wha-" he tried to beg for mercy, but nothing came out but his horrified screams as he felt his skin being burned.
"Demon!" the other angel yelled out rattling his chains, "Let him go free!"
Eve ignored the screams, the yelling, everything. She just stared on as the young angel's feathers caught fire and the skin bubbled. She watched as the body hung and his heart stopped.
She watched the angel die, burnt beyond recognition.
As the fire died down. She turned to the other angel who stared at the scene in dismay and anger.
"Do not worry Azrael," she leaned down to him to see his eyes glow bright, "You are precious to him. The angel of Death and Retribution."
She held his face in her hands as he tried to pull away, she tightened her hold.
"May you suffer like me," she whispered against his lips, "So that you may know that my justice is worth more than theirs," she kissed his lips, "Goodbye Azrael."
Then all he felt was pain.
