It was too soon.
He should have known! No training, no permission, no way to know what she was capable of.
Why did he wish to go to her so quickly instigating a fight! He could barely hold himself together! He didn't know how to fight or even fly properly yet!
Why was he looking for a death sentence?!
Adam berated himself mentally slamming his head against the invisible brick walls.
She was fast like a locomotive with no brakes speeding to run right through his entire being. He gulped as his arms shook from the impact and his feet slid backwards. He was six feet from where he initially stood.
He was not going to win. He was going to die.
'No!' Adam pushed back against her sword, 'She must die!'
She pulled away and he felt the strangest warmth blazing in his body, pulling the tension he felt and massaging him into relaxation.
A burst of gold wrapped around his form as if to shield him from her oncoming strike. High she went holding the sword lazily in her hand, with her face as blank as an unused canvas. She dove to him and he prepared himself for the pain he would feel when they crash.
The shockwave bellowed out leaving an imprint from where he stood. Adam felt his resolve falter when those lips- kissable red- curved at the corners teasing him of what was to come.
His skin felt like he stepped into the pit of burning cinders the longer they stood together, swords pressed and faces close.
So close that if he would have leaned in a few centimeters, he would taste those lips again. Which would lead to pulling her into his arms and-
Pushing with whatever strength he could muster, she backed off so gracefully as if she were a ballerina on her toes. Damn her! This spell she had on him still attached itself even after his death.
'You don't care though,' a voice seeped into his head and he shook it away, gritting his teeth.
The glow faded and he fell to one knee as he tried to catch his fleeing breath. He could see her shadow moving closer toward him, a predator ready for the kill. Trying to move away and fight, but the power she had on him made it impossible to do so.
He felt a finger, slim and smooth, lift his chin up and he tried to close his blue eyes but she was beautiful and enchanting. Blue and golden brown eyes met and his heart rate picked up trying to run into her hands.
'Damn it!' He tried to sound angry, but all that came out was a soft breathless words flowing in his mind.
"Why would he send an untrained angel to me?" Her voice full of honey soaked into his skin.
"I chose to come," he admitted staring at her with narrowed eyes, "I must stop you."
Her laughter sounded and echoed into the clearing and bounced against the trees back into his ears.
Memories of their past rushed to his mind like waves against the shore.
[["Adam," she laughed wide and proud as her black curls bounced against her shoulders.
"Come on, it isn't that funny," he pouted wiping the pie filling, syrupy and gross, off his face.
"It is!" she continued laughing and attempted to help wipe the pie filling on his face, only to smear it more.
She laughed harder and louder.
"Eve!" he pushed her hands away and turned around to wipe his face with the washcloth in his hand.
He didn't know the pie was there! He didn't know that his shoes wasn't tied! He didn't know!
Still frowning and upset that he fell onto the pie, he ignored the girl with him. She was making fun of him and he doesn't like that at all!
"Adam, look!" her voice shouted and he turned to see her holding a pie in her hand.
Furrowed brows and pulling the washcloth from his face, he looked at her confused. However, his eyes soon widen and his mouth opened from seeing her smash her face into the pie she was holding.
Quickly running to her, he pulled the pie away and used his washcloth to wipe the excess pie filling on her face. A grin revealed itself to him and he found himself smiling.
"Feel better?" she asked and he found himself laughing as he hugged her.
"Let's go bathe!" Eve, beautiful and perfect Eve, pulled him out the barn and he knew in his heart that she would forever hold it.]]
"Hm, so He didn't tell you to come?" Eve ran her thumb across his lips, "Interesting."
He blinked away the memory and thinned his lips. He was not supposed to feel this way for the woman who killed his parents; the woman who followed him through the years; the woman who killed so many; the woman who loved him endlessly.
"You wish to have him return to you," he found himself saying and the tightening on his chin gave way to her feelings, "What if he does not wish to return?"
"What are you saying angel?" Her voice dipped dangerously close to piercing his core.
"You've followed him through centuries," he continued and she removed her hold on him, "You were always there. He had no other options other than you."
Eve blinked and frowned looking away.
"He was suffocating with your persistence," he stated standing, "You've killed his parents and if you didn't, death comes to him always before he could live his life fully," Adam paused seeing the demon's eyes water, "… because of you."
Eve took in what was said and she knew she was selfish, but it was because she loved him too much. It was worth it, right? Adam would've always chosen her like she would him, right?
"So tell me demon, why would he wish to return," the angel spoke with more strength to his voice, "When he knew about his past lives?"
Eve stared at the angel whose face was obscured by the hood that his father gifted all his angels. This one, just born an angel and yet believed he could defeat her with words. What he said did weigh heavy on her mind, because she had thought of them herself every time she waited for Adam to return.
"He told him about his past," Eve huffed out tucking her hair behind her ear, "So he would not return to me," she looked at him, "I will accept it; if he does not wish to be with me in the next lifetime," she took a step toward him, "… but I will forever love him."
[["I love you forever." "I love you too." "You have my heart Adam." "Okay, okay. I love you too." "Won't you stay with me?" "Thank you, my love."]]
Her voice continued to bombard him with words and promises made throughout their lives together. He fought his mind to focus on the task at hand, but his heart was racing.
"You may not know how it feels anymore angel," Eve stated standing merely a few feet away, "Loving someone fully that you would waste away everything for them."
"Would he be happy if he were to be born into this world like this?" Adam questioned and he saw Eve look away biting her bottom lip.
He clenched his hand around the hilt of his sword.
"I will bring back everything when he returns," Eve exhaled dropping her shoulders, "Go back to your father, angel, I am done here."
Adam watched her turn around and spread her raven wings to take flight. He watched as her body became smaller and smaller until she disappeared over the trees.
Putting his hand on his heart, he could feel it stretching and calling for the demon to return, for Eve to console him. Putting his blade away, he closed his eyes and tried to tell himself that he didn't want her. He didn't love her.
That his heart wasn't aching to be close to her again.
Spreading his dove colored wings, he flew up towards the heaven where he knew he would have an ear full, but it was worth it. He could save the world without killing the demon.

Eve watched the angel fly off from where she stood, high on the tree. Who was this angel and why was he so familiar? She looked around her to see sparse trees, dirt and corpses littered the grounds, and the scattering of animals and people.
Letting out a sigh, she looked up.
"I will let your people live, thrive even," Eve closed her eyes, "Just let him live again."
The sky, once red and dark, paved way to let greys and blues in. Clouds, dark as they rolled through, burst with life as they lit up lighting the sky.
Rain, light like spring, watered the ground as blades of grass and flowers sprout through. Berries, fruits, and vegetables formed and grew.
Within the week, the world was recovering as the demon awaited her prize.
