Water, cold as ice against their skin, surrounded them as they floated upward for air. Gasps were heard, as heads broke the surface and echoed in the cavern. Both Adam and Eve swam forward until their feet touched land. Walking the rest of the way out of water, Eve looked around to take in her surroundings.
Walls of the cavern were covered in thin ice, yet the ceiling had no icicles. The water they have escaped from was freezing, but the surface was warm on her bare feet.
'Strange,' she thought to herself and looked at Adam.
Body glistening with water droplets sliding off his naked body, golden hair swiped back with his large hands, and she found herself drinking in the sight.
A God he should be.
"Enjoying the view?" Adam smirked over at her and Eve found herself laughing.
"I am," she pulled her hair to the side to twist off the water, "Beautiful is what I would describe you, Adam."
Hearing the compliment, Adam found his smirk turning into a grin at how wrong she was. He was not beautiful. The one who owns that title was her: long raven hair, perfectly plumped red lips, small waist, perked breasts, and voluptuous round ass. How was he going to compete with that?
"I'm not sure how long we can stay here before they find us," Eve mentioned and headed to a small campfire set up.
'How long did they stay here?' She wondered as she lit the wood.
"Okay," Adam nodded as he sat down beside her in front of the fire, "What is the plan?"
"Honestly? I could just kill everyone?" Eve offered blinking at him with wide innocent eyes.
"Stop joking," Adam wrapped his arm around her.
"Who says it was a joke?" She countered sticking her bottom lip to him.
Adam shook his head and kissed her lips.
"The demon," Adam started, "Gabriel spoke something about your father being overthrown. Is he alright?"
Eve's eyelids fluttered realizing Adam did not know what occurred in Hell. Letting out a sigh, she looked at the fire as she explained what needed to be said.
"When you left to speak with your Father," she looked at him, "I discovered the angel who killed that human and the demon who betrayed my father."
"You saw him?" Adam's eyes widened surprised coloring his face.
"Yes, but before I could question him, he was able to escape," she bit out, "… so I went to Hell to confront the traitor. My father and I always knew he was up to something, but to find he was working with one of your brothers… I was ready to kill him."
Eve leaned her head against his shoulder as the warmth covered their skin.
"He was prepared with a weapon," she explained, "… I was not prepared, and I was badly injured."
'So that's where all her injuries came from? A weapon?' Adam thought as his lips thinned.
"My father had showed up later to defeat Samael, the traitor, but he…" she paused closing her eyes as her palm covered her heart, "… he sent me off before the betrayer was able to kill me too."
Adam pulled her into his chest as he held her close. No tears escaped her eyes, but the pain remained to reverberate against her heart.
"I am sorry," Adam consoled running his fingers down her hair.
Eve didn't reply, but she pressed against him and rubbed her cheek at the curve of his neck. She still does not know what the plan should be with God's angels trying to capture them, while Samael was purposing an attack in Hell.
She does not know, and it frustrated her.
"Gabriel told me," Adam spoke softly, "When Lucifer was among them, the weapon was already created. It was used to defeat him."
Eve pulled back and searched his eyes with confusion. If the weapon was already created then-
"He said they needed time to make ammunition, but he was told long ago the weapon was destroyed," Adam continued, "… God, my Father, knew of this all along. I think he planned it all and sent Raphael to complete the tasks."
The flames drying them suddenly flared high, like it was screaming in anger. The thin iced on the cavern walls were starting the melt from the heat of the cavern. Adam grabbed a hold of Eve's face as the twitching of her eyes, the scowling of her lips, and the pulsing of her temples beat against her skin.
"Hey," he said gently with a soft shake, "Look at me."
Eve did as he asked and he saw the black pits of her eyes, as dark as coals, opened to his blue ones. For a moment, that was all he saw. Then a few blinks later and her eyes were back to those honey browns that made his heart gushed.
The fire calmed and the room returned to its cold temperature.
"You okay?" He questioned rubbing her temples.
"Sorry," Eve apologized, and Adam sent a smile to her.
He pulled her head forward to land a kiss and let out a sigh. Pressing his forehead against hers, he closed his eyes as a plan began to form in his mind.
"Eve," he pulled back, "Do you think Samael will work with the angels?"
"I doubt it. He is selfish and only craves power," Eve frowned.
"He is the only one with the weapon to even hurt you," Adam rubbed his chin, "… so either God would need to work with him, or they already have another weapon made," he paused and frowned, "Gabriel said that was impossible. It took them 100 years to create the weapon against your father, it shouldn't take them 20 years to create another."
Eve listened and found herself nodding.
"And I doubt Samael will just return the weapon since he was able to hold it, and I am still alive," she added, "I am still considered the Queen in Hell. If he truly wished to take over Hell, he would need to kill me."
