Dear Imena,
Adam was in the main sitting room, reading a book while he waited for mme to get back from the meeting.
"Any luck?" he asked.
"With the deal? No. But I did read his mind." I said.
Adam looked up from his book,
"Council meeting?"
"Yeah, everyone needs to hear this." I said.
Once again, the Council members all met in a conference room in my castle. I walked in last, and everyone's eyes were on my as I took my seat.
"So, I think I found out why this new leader declined the peace deal." I began, "Someone told him not to make the deal."
Confused remarks filled the room for several minutes before Gaden got everyone quiet.
"How do you know?" He asked.
"I read his mind. He was thinking that I don't seem as bad as he was told. Also, he thought about calling someone." I responded.
"Why would he call someone?" James asked.
"Oh...well I kinda threatened him. So, there's that..." I said. Adam glared at me.
"What? All I basically said was he will regret not making the deal with us because we're so much stronger than him and his country. That's all."
Adam continued to glare, so I sunk in my chair and cupped my hand around my eye, blocking him from view.
Adam sighed, "Ok so someone told him not to make the deal, that's fine. It was probably just another world leader that isn't too fond of us. I guess that means taking this new guy out of power isn't a good idea, it may look suspicious to the other world leaders."
"I don't think it was a world leader." I said.
Adam glared at me again, "And why is that?"
"Well for one, I work with all of the world leaders and I'm not best friends with all of them, but they really like me and I really like them." I replied.
"That doesn't mean one of them doesn't like you, they could just be quiet about it." Adam said.
Everyone gave Adam a look, he looked around and rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, I know she would know if they didn't like her because she's empathic. That was dumb, I get it." he said, and everyone nodded in approval.
"Maybe Adam is on the right track though. You work with the world leaders, but not so much their staff. Have you ever gotten the feeling that any of them don't like you?" asked Rhea.
"No, I talk to them to get meetings arranged, and I invite and talk to them at parties and festivals, but I've never felt that they don't like me." I replied.
"Then who else could it be?" James asked.
No one had an answer.
