Butterflies

"Why did Andrew have the butterfly?"

"You let my sister go hunt Andrew all on her own?!"

"Jay, I volunteered to go alone."

"What was behind that wall you stopped at?"

"Why did you stop at a wall?"

"What did he mean?"

"Does he know something we don't?"

"Someone find the prophecy in a book, lets look at it again."

"Spirit isn't the bad one."

"I didn't say she is."

"Here's your backpack, Roxanne. Spirit and I found it in Boston."

"Where is the skateboard!?"

"Can everyone please just stop!?" I stood up and yelled.

The room went silent, all eyes on me. I stood there in the conference room with Council members, Jay, Ty, Milo, and Roxanne. They were all waiting for me to answer all of their questions, most of the answers I didn't have.

"I am just as confused as all of you. But if there's one thing I know about Andrew, it's that he did this on purpose. He lured me to Boston so he could confuse and scare all of us. You're letting him win by causing chaos in this meeting." I said.

"So what do we do?" Gaden asked.

I thought about it for a moment.

"Leave Andrew alone. Adam, go to the soldiers that are looking for him now, and tell them to stop looking. No one is to look for him anymore." I said.

This caused the room to break out into more confused chatter, I held up my hand to stop them.

"Andrew is avoiding me, but he likes to cause trouble. So, let's stop giving him ways to cause trouble for us. No more looking for him, call back any scouts and shut down our watch party for him, send the soldiers home, focus on your own jobs and ruling the Vail. That's what we should do right now." I said calmly.

I could tell not everyone liked this idea, but they all nodded and slowly left the room.

Before Rox left, she pulled me aside, "I know you followed the pendant to the butterfly, but you should know, the butterfly I have is here until the Vail and never left. The one Andrew had wasn't mine."

I nodded, and she left the room, leaving me the last one to leave again.
