Candies Candy

Dear Imena,

I've traveled the world, met so many people, tried so many things, but nothing I had ever experienced prepared me for college. In some ways it was nice, no one really cared what I did as long as I was following rules and going to classes, but that was also a bad thing.

I was lonely for a while. I didn't have a roommate, the world was still in the process of getting used to it being safe to be around people outside of your family, so most students that lived on campus had their own rooms and bathrooms still. People were still understandably scared. To be fair, I was scared too. Being the most rare being in existence, I wasn't even sure if I could get sick or pass it to someone else because there wasn't anyone like me that lived in the past that I could reference to.

I spent a lot of time in my dorm until about three months into the school year. I was walking back to my dorm from a class when I passed a little candy shop with a help sign in the window. I had bought from the little shop before, it was a cute place, and I did need to get a job soon. I still needed to make money somehow in order to support myself on my own on Earth, so I decided I would see about applying.

I walked in and asked an employee about applying. She brought me some forms that I filled out and handed back, and I was told I would hear from them soon if they wanted an interview.

A few days later, I was asked to go in for an interview. The interview went really well, and they called me back a week later saying I got the job and I was starting at the beginning of the next week.

I went to work on my first day after I got out of class, and it was great. I got along with the couple other people I was working with, and they ended up becoming a few of my first friends at college.

So thank you for hiring me, Candie's Candy, you helped me make some life long friends.
