Messed up...

Evan's Pov

I was still froze when she bid me bye and was falling down into the water. When I heard her body hitting the surface of the water I flinched. I could think of nothing but my body acted on its own. Tears dripping down my eyes and me myself getting ready to jump into the water to pull her out. I almost jumped down but I couldn't. Shane grabbed me along with few officers.

"Leave me!! She is down there." I said struggling to get out of there hold. I could see her struggling not to drown. I wish I could have protected her. She is there because of me. But they are not letting me to save her. Why? She is diying because of me!! Why are they taking me away. Why are they still pulling me away from the edge... I need to save her.

End of Evan's Pov

He was devastated... that may not define his situation completely. The officer were pulling him away from the edge. He was struggling too much with his arms bleeding continuously making him lose his conscience.

"Chief!! He lost his conscience. He is bleeding really hard." Said one of the officer who was pulling Evan. Shane took out his phone and dialed hospital for ambulance. He bent down on his knees and hold Evan who was lying unconsciously on the floor.

"Officer.. but what about the girl?" Shane asked when he thought of the girl who just fell off the bridge. The officer signed and said "I informed the headquarter and they are sending the divers. They might be here any second." Shane shook his head. "And you don't need to worry now we took  that killer in custody already?" Continued the officer.

Soon the people started gathering there but were blocked by officers. And Evan was taken to the hospital after the arrival of the ambulance. Shane went along with Evan while the police officers remain back at the scene for further investigation. While the diver were diving deep into the river for the girl. Even with the hope of finding her dead body.

An complete hour passed by but there was no result of the search. The body was missing. No one got a hold of the body even when they continued the search for several times.

Even after few more search the body was nowhere to be found. They left the hope of finding her body and  closed the case. They declared her to be dead. They left the scene after they closed the search. They all returned to headquarter back to give the detail of the case.

At the hospital, there was Shane siting beside the hospital bed eagerly waiting for his friend to wake up. Shane informed his parents and they were heading to the hospital. He was just thinking of the things that happened these days and to his friend more like his brother... he cried.

He flinched when the door opened with his parent and few officers entering inside. He jolt up and ran to his mom and hugged her tight sobbing within her embrace. She patted his head calming her son. Shane pulled away and wiped his tears.

"Did you find out who the girl was?" Shane asked when he laid his eyes on the officer behind his mother. The officer nod his head answering "Yea. We did. But her parents are not believing us. They are demanding us to find their daughter." He signed continuing "we don't know what to do. I guess we will go with searching her body one more time."

Shane nod his head eyeing his friend on the bed unconscious. He is scared if he will blame himself for the girl's death. He too signed and went to sit where he was before.

"How is he?" Shane's dad asked caressing Evan's head. His mom too went and stood beside him. "I guess he is okay. He is weak as he lost his blood. " they nod their head in understanding. "We need to hide this from him. About the girl." Shane said looking at his friend."why?" They all asked him in surprise.

"If he knew she is no more.... I am sure he will blame himself. I can't see him like that." Shane said tearing up again. His mother went and hugged him again. "But what if he asked?" Shane's dad asked him while the officer were listening them confused.

"Dad.. lets move from here. And we can say they saved her. And she is with her family. Please... lets leave this place and go elsewhere." He begged with pleading eyes and his dad signed.

"But what if the girl's parent decide to visit him or any chance for him to know himself is quiet high as he may demand to see her." One of the officer whose name was Carl spoke.

"Officer Carl.. I get that but I can't let him know. He is too broken. What if he tried to kill himself? Will you be responsible?!!" Shane burst out while his dad stopped him from further yelling.

The officer goes silent and decides to go along with them. "Then I will handle the girl's family. You all should head somewhere else from here then. He may wake up soon." Officer Carl left with his co-worker after he stated.

Shane turned to his dad and said " Dad lets get prepared. We need to take him far from this place. With us. You will right?" He asked with the hope of having his friend with him. He was not sure if their parent wanted to be responsible for him.

But seeing them hesitate Shane was confirmed that he had to do something himself. He stood up and said " Its okay if you don't want. I am taking him somewhere with me." His parents were shocked to hear something like this from their son.

"Are you crazy?! You need to understand we can't take him. We can't afford. We are not rich!!" His dad yelled afraid of losing his son. While Shane just shook his head no and went to the door. He stopped at the door and said "You don't need to worry. Its only for few years. I will come back with him. I can't leave him alone. Please help me find a place somewhere far from here. Please!!" He said before leaving the room. 

While his parents were froze to listen something they never had expected from his son who was always complaining and acting like a immature little kid. His dad looked at Evan lying on the bed and smiled. "I guess our son has matured. We can help him...both. It will be like sending him somewhere for studying. He said he will come to us. And Evan... how can we leave this boy?" Shane's dad said caressing Evan's head and cheeks. "I guess you are right. They both are our sons. We can at least do that. They are big enough to look after themselves. " Shane's mom said kissing Evan's forehead.

"Then should we go and search a good place for them? Should we send them to town? They also need to fulfill their dream." Shane's mom asked smiling at her husband. While he just nod his head.

They left the hospital informing Shane about their decision and head back home. While Shane returned back to the hospital to look after his unconscious friend.
