Chapter 5 - Blood And Roses (Kenneth)

I was only 14 when my parents and I had been drafted to fight with the resistance in The War Of Morals. They had no choice since it was life or death for our people, no this fight was more than for the people, the fight was for our right to live in this world.

Come the day of the war, my parents and I weren't even on the same field, they were in the front lines, luckily I was in the back, we all thought.

Except the Hanju had flanked our forces, the back of the army now became the front lines, I was sitting in the grass waiting for a task when.

"THEY ARE FLANKING, RETREAT RETREAT! The general yelled,

Horns went off, screams were heard miles and miles away.

It all happened so fast, one moment I looked at the clouds, the other it seemed as if the sky had turned red.

The sound of steel slicing across necks and torsos.

The horrifying sound of men choking on their own blood, as they realized they had failed their children and families.

The retreat had commenced, I was grabbed by a soldier as he rode his horse back to what was thought to be the front lines.

"Hold on kid, you are gonna be ok." the man said, assuring me

When we got there we came to realize that it wasn't just a simple flank, they sandwiched us on both sides waiting for the retreat that had just been signaled. Everyone was slaughtered from both sides, with blood sprayed across the grass I used to lay on with my friends beside me.

That was no more, I stared at the blood of the warriors, and the blood of my parents.

I stood frozen beside their corpses in disbelief, it couldn't be happening, why today, why now.

"Mm...Mom...Father, please you can't leave, NOT NOW PLEASE!"

The soldier that rode me there reached for my arm in comfort when

A spear went through his chest. The first death I witnessed right before my eyes, the one that unlocked my first wall.

"It's a kid!" yelled one of the soldiers

"Just kill him like we did the rest!" said another

The rest, I thought in my head. Who could possibly be the rest, my friends,

My fellow allies, My entire family tree or perhaps my classmates I would always talk to when I was lonely. It's all gone, they took my life.

"YOU TOOK MY LIFE!" I yelled in pure rage

"His eyes are yellow, mooove!" They yelled

No warning was going to save them, I slaughtered their friends and allies just like they did to mine.

"Robbie!" Yelled one of the soldiers

As I burned my fist right through his friend to get to him.

"HE HAS TELEKINESIS STAY AWAY FROM SHARP OBJE….!"

I sliced him open with his own blade that once protected him and held up his body for others to see.

I made sure they witnessed the horror I had witnessed moments ago.

829 soldiers died by my hands and blade that day, and I took my time, hearing every last one of them scream and beg for forgiveness, their last breaths sucked out of them by my telekinesis.

Then the last soldier, the general, the one I made suffer the most.

"Bb..Bb... BLUE!" the general yelled in fear

My eyes had turned blue that day from the grief of my losses

I brought out every last bit of darkness inside him till his body burnt from the raw emotion.

I left the battlefield as a different person that day, I was no longer a mere 14 yr old boy.

I was the only one that lived, as far as I know.

I may not be the man chosen by the prophecy,

but when the day comes I shall be the one to lead him to his destiny.
