One Month

One Month:

Waking up to the sound of rustling sheets and something clinging onto him lightly. Xie Xie felt something on his chest. Sighing, he opened his eyes and nudged the person clinging onto him.

"Mu Xi, wake up"

"Mmmm...a few more minutes"

Sighing once again, he accepted his fate as her reluctant body pillow. His thoughts started to drift as he started to recall what had happened this past month.

He had determined that he's in an entirely different world and either his soul was transferred over into this body or he had regressed back to the age of four. Both of the options were detrimental to him as he was now powerless. His past life was full of suffering and pain, clenching his fists he vowed to never be weak again. If his past taught him anything, it's that in the end no matter what strength triumphs all.

He was currently in Eastsea City, one of the major cities of the Sun-Moon Federation. It was a prosperous city, the people who had kindly taken him in were Blacksmiths. Most notingly Mu Chen was the Blacksmith's Association President, it was also why the house he was currently in was so luxurious and didn't mind feeding another mouth. Although the only reason why he could stay or should he say forced to stay was because of Mu Xi.

After he ate dinner on the first day he thanked both Mu Chen and Mu Xi and tried to leave, however, Mu Xi had a strange attachment towards him. Looking back at it the situation that happened was truly ridiculous.

Flashback:

"I've already checked in with the Administrative office to investigate, but they couldn't find your parents" grunted Mu Chen

"Ehhh, isn't that great Dad! Can't Xie Xie stay at our house then?" Mu Xi ecstatically said

"No no no, we can't do that. He's going to the orphanage"

"But...but.. I always wanted to have a little brother! Please dad!"

"No is no! You...you do you think those puppy eyes will work on me!

"Argh...even if I agree, your mother hasn't agreed to it!"

"Ara Ara, I don't mind. I always wanted a son" Yuan Bao'er replied with a smile

"Cough" "Cough" Xie Xie gaining their attention

"Thank you for your hospitality but, I don't want to trouble you any further. I will leave soon"

"Noooo! Please stay at my house, alright?"

"Stay! Mom always makes good food and Dad.. you can forget about him"

"HEY!" a disgruntled voiced out

"Ehehe, you can stay with me too! I always wanted a younger brother, so stay alright?"

Yuan Bao'er chuckled

"Don't force him Mu Xi, isn't it up to Xie Xie if he wants to stay?"

Stay? It was an irrational thought, he was always used to being alone and never depending on others. However, he still had a lack of information currently and looking around this family seemed to be fairly wealthy. He also thought that if he really was in a different world, then the enemies that he had once had and the miserable life he had in his past life would be gone. It would be a fresh start…

"Mmm. I'll stay, but I'll leave when it's time"

When she heard those words, Mu Xi jumped off her chair and danced as she shouted

"Yayyyyy!! Yayyy!! Xie Xie agreed! Xie Xie agreed! Hehe"

Due to that, he is currently in this situation of putting Mu Xi to bed in her room for her to only sneak into his bed at night. At first he thought it was a hassle but soon it had just become another part of his morning routine.

If it was the old him, he would have never let down his guard and trust. In fact, the first few weeks he still had his guard up constantly. However, after accepting that he was no longer in his old world he started to slowly adapt into this life. There was something inside him that longed for a loving family, and maybe in this life he could have one.

"Good morning Xie Xie"

"Oh, you're finally awake?" Shaking his head Xie Xie wipes off the drool coming out from her mouth.

"Come on let's head down for breakfast, don't you want to see your father's blacksmithing?"

With the word 'blacksmithing' Mu Xi's sleepiness was washed away. There was something that she was passionate about even from a young age and that was blacksmithing, perhaps it was in their blood. Still, he was happy that she had a dream and something to strive for.

After a quick breakfast they quickly headed out towards the blacksmith shop where Mu Chen would work at. When he entered he felt the sweltering heat of the forge and the sounds of metal clashing against each other. It was noisy but quiet orderly as the sounds had a certain rhythm to it.

They soon arrived in front of Mu Chen shortly, he had just finished smithing. Mu Xi quickly started to prepare her own station to smith.

Mu Chen laughing at her antics thinking it as cute

"Haha, Mu Xi you are here again to Smith?"

"Mm! I want to be a blacksmith!"

"Sure sure!" replied Mu Chen thinking it as a joke

Xie Xie, thought differently though. He saw determination and passion in her voice. Although she was small, she still put in all her effort into blacksmithing. Making small hammers, and it seemed she had been doing it for quite a while, yet her father still thought of it as a joke. Disappointed and he thought he had to give her a little push.

"She isn't joking. Mu Chen I think you should take her seriously."

Scoffing Mu Chen simply said

"Blacksmithing is rough and weight-laden process of forging is not suitable for girls, but for men"

Mu Xi was disappointed by her father's words but still continued to craft small hammers

Shaking his head, Mu Xi is too stubborn and will refuse to give up nor admit that her father is right.

"Do you really think Mu Xi is unsuitable for blacksmithing? Just look at her. She's giving it her all to forge something, besides didn't Yuan Baoer also learn smithing. You have to at least give her a chance"

Mu Chen looked at Mu Xi and looked at her perseverance and her skills. Indeed she had talent in blacksmithing but he wouldn't believe that his daughter would stick to blacksmithing, even his wife had given up on blacksmithing.

"Fine, Mu Xi come here!"

"This is a training machine for apprentice blacksmiths. Use this hammer and hit this metal plate left and right 500 times each. Only with the right amount of strength, will the machine start counting. If you can't even do this then don't even think about learning blacksmithing!"

Turning around Mu Chen had left to finish other tasks, he most likely believed that they would give up after a few hits but he had underestimated how stubborn Mu Xi was.

Picking up the hammer Mu Xi gave a look of determination and started to swing the hammer.

*Ding* *Ding* *Ding*

The numbers started to rise, shaking his head. Xie Xie went towards the next machine and also picked up a hammer.

*Ding* *Ding* *Ding*

Shocked Mu Xi turned around to see Xie Xie hammering

Xie Xie gently smiling towards her

"I'll be with you the entire time. You are not alone."

Mu Xi quickly turned her head to avoid Xie Xie looking at her. If Xie Xie saw her face then he would see how red her face was.

(Ah...Xie Xie is too cute, his smile was really cute too!)

In Mu Chen's Work Office you could see two children hitting a metal plate with a hammer rhythmically

*Ding* *Ding* *Ding*

Slowly but surely the numbers started to rise
