Spirit Awakening

The house that was usually so quiet and peaceful was now loud and chaotic. Happiness and excitement spread through the house, as everyone kept busy preparing for something important.

Xie Xie pitting on his clothes he faced to mirror to only frown at what he saw. A delicate face that had stunning bright green eyes, touching his face he felt the soft and supple skin. This was of course the result of progressing in his Moon Arts. He had already looked quiet cute before but this had only enhanced him in a way he didn't like. He looked much more like a pretty doll than a bloodthirsty killer.

Suddenly he heard the door being slammed open

"Xie Xie!! Today's your big day!"

Smiling Mu Xi was excited yet nervous at the same time. She had reverted back to her usual self over the years, while her competitive spirit still remained she no longer challenged Xie Xie as frequently. Her Blacksmithing skills grew greatly that she even advanced to a 2 Star blacksmith, her figure also grew. She no longer looked like a small child but instead a young girl. One that had a fiery beauty just like her personality.

Chuckling Xie Xie pat her head,

"You seem more nervous than me Mu Xi"

"Aren't, I the one awakening my martial soul?"

Mu Xi pouted

"Hmph!, so what if I'm worried about you. Besides...even if you get a bad martial soul"

Smirking Xie Xie approached and put his face closer to Mu Xi,

"What if I get a bad martial soul?"

"I..I..I can take care of you if you do!!"

Blushing as Mu Xi blurred out the words she had wanted to say, Xie Xie was amused. This girl had such a stubborn and fiery temper towards anyone else yet towards him she always turned into a shy girl.

Patting her head once more, he simply just smiled at her before turning around to leave.

"Let's go"

Mu Xi stared at the back of Xie Xie before placing her hands on top of her head before mumbling.

"You could have done it for longer" before blushing

"Mu Xi are you coming?"

Quickly she ran to catch up

The street in front of the glory academy was already crowded up to the eastern walls. Everyone had brought their children here for the awakening ceremony.

"Xie Xie what do you think your martial soul will be?"

Hahahahaha, hearing a rough and loud voice Mu Chen

"Of course he's going to get a strong martial soul"

Frowning Yuan Bao'er pulled Mu Chen's ears,

"And what are you doing telling that to a child before his martial soul awakening"

Looking towards Xie Xie she smiled softly,

"Xie Xie, just know that no matter what your martial soul we will still care for you"

"Mmmm yeah! If anyone dares bully you I'll beat them up" an excited Mu Xi shouted

Looking towards the family he's stay with for the past two years his cold heart had started to melt. He had learned to trust someone and finally have a place that he could feel safe.

Hearing his name being announced he walk towards the room. It was a grand and luxurious place, they had obviously spent a fortune creating this room. There were strange decorative engravings in the floor, walls and event he roofs. It gave Xie Xie a bizarre feeling that made him restless.

"You are Xie Xie?"

"Child come, don't be nervous stand in the middle of this circle"

Standing in the circle he suddenly felt a warm energy flow into his body. Then suddenly it started to drill into him, the once warm energy turned burning hot. It felt like he was being burned alive, yet he still endured.

The teacher was shocked he had never seen a reaction this strong, the yellow light had suddenly turned into a blue and red light as the energy went into the child's body. He saw a crescent moon mark appear on the boys forehead as red lines had started to appear throughout his body.

The blue and red light fought back and forth for dominance as Xie Xie's body felt his body being torn apart from the inside. He couldn't hold it any longer as sound finally escaped from his mouth

"AHHHHHHH"

"AHHH! UUU.."

From Xie Xie's hands a blue light started to shine as his martial soul started to appear and take form.

"It's coming out!! It's coming out!!! Your martial soul is..."

"Twin daggers?"

A pair of two daggers, one appearing in each hand. A golden dagger that was shaped and decorated beautifully that exuded a strong righteous aura and another dagger that mirror the golden one yet had a darker color to it, the aura it emitted was dark and gloomy.

"Hahh..hahhh..hahh"

Breathing was difficult for Xie Xie, he had felt the energy of Moon Arts flow inside his body but he had also felt another source of energy that was struggling to break free. The egg... it was something he had long forgotten yet it had came back at such an unexpected time. The egg inside his soul had finally hatched and became his martial soul.

Looking towards the teacher who was ecstatic about a prodigy he kept trying to convince Xie Xie to attend glory academy.

Shrugging him off Xie Xie exited the place as he walked towards Mu Xi when he heard someone unfamiliar call his name"

"Young master Xie Xie?! Is that you?!"

"Thank the heavens, we finally found you"

In the household an awkward atmosphere surrounded the place. Sitting on one side was Mu Chen and his wife, on the opposite side was Xie Wu the butler who had called him young master earlier. Sitting a distance away on the couch we're Mu Xi and Xie Xie.

Mu Chen and his wife had a stubborn and obstinate look on their face as they looked at the butler.

"You want to take Xie Xie from us?"

"No!! Dad you can't let them take Xie Xie" said Mu Xi as she was currently holding onto Xie Xie like a koala, wrapping her entire body around him so he couldn't possibly escape.

Sighing from his daughters antics, he couldn't help but agree with her.

"Xie Xie is family to us, we won't let you take him"

The butler only ignored them as he looked towards Xie Xie

"Young master, I am glad you are safe and sound. However this is not your family. Your father has searched for you all this time. Please come back home with me"

Mu Xi at this point started to break down and cling even tighter to Xie Xie, she had always had a feeling that Xie Xie would leave one day. She just didn't think it would be so soon.

"No...no...you can't take him. You can't.."

Her voice started to grow softer and softer as her tears started to fall.

Xie Xie looking towards the Mu's , they were a kind and loving family. He grew to genuinely care for them. Especially Mu Xi, he couldn't help but tear up a bit.

Patting her hand that was wrapped around him he gently started to pry her arms apart.

"NO!" "NO!"

Her arms started to exert more force yet her already frail state of mind made her strength weaken considerably. She wanted to hold onto him tightly, she wanted to be with him, she wanted to see him smile again.

Tears rolling down her face she clinger onto the hem of Xie Xie's shirt, pleading him one last time

"Stay.. please don't leave .."

Xie Xie could only pat her head as he removed her hand from his shirt. He softly whispered into her ear "Sorry" before kissing her on the forehead.

He turned towards Mu Chen and his wife and he bowed his head down towards them as a sign of respect and gratitude.

"Thank you for taking care of me. I will always remember my time together with you all. I will repay this debt one day"

Not giving them a chance to reply Xie Xie turned around and left. As he walked always he heard Mu Xi get up from the couch and run towards him to only be stopped by her father.

Holding his daughter down Mu Chen could only watch as the boy he considered his son leave.

"Why did you stop me?!!! I'll bring him back! Let me go!"

Mu Chen could only look at his daughter pitifully, before giving her a big hug.

"Mu Xi, he's already gone"

"No... why did he leave? Why dad why?!!" Sniffles and cries could be heard as the family of 4 turned into a family of 3.

Xie Xie who had heard all that stopped for a brief moment as his eyes stung from the tears forming. He wiped his eyes before getting into the carriage. Looking out the window, he saw the house that gave him comfort and warmth for the past 2 years.

"Go"

His eyes no longer carried the warmth that they once had as they turned sharp and deadly something that made the butler shiver from the dread he felt from his young master.

Gulping he started the carriage, no longer daring to look at Xie Xie in the eye.
