In the carriage sat Xie Xie, he had his eyes closed as he tried to calm down as his emotions were still in turmoil. He had just left the comfy and safe space that he had always yearned for. Sighing, he questioned if he was making the correct decision...
Shaking his head he clenched his fists, no he made the right decision. He felt the progress of his strength slow down as he had started to spend less and less time to train himself. He was being carried away by the warmth and love of a family.
He enjoyed their company and would turn around to join them if it wasn't for his desire. Desire to become stronger and also a desire to protect those around him. He was still weak, he had seen what Mu Chen could do, he could destroy his current self with a flick of a finger. Just imagining his helplessness in the face of overwhelming power made his eyes turn cold.
He had wanted to train even harder and his training techniques he learned in the past were impossible to accomplish in the Mu residence. They wouldn't allow him to endure hellish training. He had endured and barely lived through the training that was forced upon him in his past life, this life he would do it again but this time willingly.
Poison resistance was one of the top priorities to achieve. The only way was to regularly consume poison and live through its effects. Occasionally changing the type and dose of poison to slowly build up an immunity to it.
He also felt a lingering danger inside of him. The unknown worried him the most and not knowing what was happening inside his body made him wary. He felt the egg transform into something but couldn't call it out like his other two martial souls.
He only saw a brief image of what the egg had transformed into, the once round egg had been set ablaze as it grew the fire also grew. Soon it had taken form and suddenly burst into one final burst of fire and turned into ash.
He didn't know what had happened but he felt a difference in his body, he felt stronger and his regenerative speed had grown tremendously.
Suddenly the door of the carriage opened
"Young master, we have arrived"
Turning his head around he saw a magnificent mansion and a line of maids and butlers making a walkway for him as a greeting. He wasn't fazed by this spectacle and slowly got off the carriage.
Xie Xie, with a calm demeanor walked passed them to see a man in a black suit. He had brown hair and blue eyes. Instinctively he knew that this person must be his father. Xie Xie continued to stare at the man as the man likewise continue to stare at him.
"I'm assuming you've been well"
"Mmm"
The man nodded his head,
"As long as you are safe, come inside"
Xie Xie entered the mansion and saw a chandelier with diamonds glistening under the light, he saw large stairs that were carved to have a Phoenix on one side and a dragon on the other. But, he had ignored all the excessive wealth that surrounded the house as his attention was focused on the large picture of a brown haired beauty with green eyes, the very same as his. She looked stunning as her dress only heightened her beauty, in her arms was a small baby.
"Your mother loved you dearly son"
Turning his head towards the voice, he saw his father also looking lovingly at the picture
Xie Xie didn't know nor did he remember his father, he doesn't even remember his mother but looking at how his mothers smile and tender look he had to admit she must have loved him a lot.

It had been a month since Xie Xie returned home. His training regime had increased tremendously and he had started to train his poison resistance. It was hard to figure out a way to obtain herbs without letting his father know their true purpose. However, maybe it was due to his father feeling guilt or wanting to make up to Xie Xie, he eventually agreed and tried his best to support his son. The first few times were always the toughest ones, he felt searing pain through his abdomen he first time around and nearly passed out. The second time he felt his throat burn and skin sear as the poison flowed through his body. Each time although his dosage was low he endured the pain. Poison resistance wasn't something you could build within a few months, it would take years for his efforts to shine.
His moon arts progressed slowly and he still hasn't felt the seals loosen any further, however that never stopped him from his daily cultivation. His looks only continued to steer in the wrong direction and felt helplessness and at one point seriously considered abandoning Moon Arts.
What he had progressed the most was in familiarizing in his martial soul. The light dragon dagger and shadow dragon dagger, they felt complete yet incomplete at the same time. He couldn't wrap his fingers on it. Still, he practiced with them daily to make the daggers an extension of his body.
Xie Xie soaked in sweat continued to swing his daggers as he continued to try and incorporate more complex movements. His movements were elegant and swift yet you could also see the deadliness of them. Each swing aimed to deal a fatal blow towards their opponent. He then heard a voice call out to him
"Young master, your father has called for you"
Xie Xie stopped practicing and turned his head towards the voice. His crystal green eyes shined and narrowed as it locked on its target.
The butler shivered and his legs started to shake slightly. From afar the young master looked like a beautiful doll and many would mistake him for a girl. However, once you were close and looked into his eyes, you would feel terrifying pressure as if you were prey to be hunted. Soon the pressure faded as the butler finally could breathe.
"You can go"
Xie Xie closes his eyes as he tried to calm himself down. Lately his bloodthirsty nature had started to leak out and he knew it must have been the eggs influence or whatever hatched from it. The only thing keeping him in check was the calming nature of Moon Arts.
"Tsk. I need to unlock the second seal"
He could feel himself slowly losing his rationality and his urge to kill was unbearable at times.

Inside the dining room, there was a long table that sat two people on each end. The table itself was extremely luxurious, a table made of precious jade. On he table was an assortment of food, ranging from steak to lobster. This wasn't a special occasion, instead this was only a regular day.
"Son, I will be leaving soon"
"I see"
Xie Xie answered with a calm voice
Silence filled the air as they stared at each other. They hadn't gone closer at all. Their conversations were simple and straightforward. Xie Xiao looked at his son, before his son would throw a tantrum before whenever he would leave but now he had matured, those two years felt like eternity for him. He had just lost his wife and then his son went missing, he had continued to search for his son and hoped he would return. Yet when he returned he didn't know what to do, their relationship had always been strained.
"I will take you to get your first spirit ring before you enter Holy Academy"
Xie Xie's interest was piqued as he would finally get a taste of power spirit masters had. He lightly smiled as he nodded towards his father.

Inside his room Xie Xie gazed at the moon, he had this habit even from his past life. He wondered how Mu Xi was doing. His thoughts started to drift and he started to feel a sense of longing and sadness. He didn't know what he was feeling but he knew he didn't like it. Shaking his head he cleared his mind to focus on cultivating.
In the Mu Residence, Mu Chen and his wife were sitting at the dinning room table. There were two empty chairs, looking at them they sighed. Their adopted son had left and now their daughter had refused to leave her room.
Not knowing what to do, they heard a knock on the door.
Suddenly they heard footsteps coming down the stairs, a distraught Mu Xi ran towards the door.
"Xie Xie you're back?!"
Opening it they saw a delivery person holding onto a box,
Her hopes dashed, she could only feel disappointment
"Is Mu Xi here? I have a delivery for her"
"For me? I didn't order anything?"
"Ah, let me see. It says it was ordered by a Xie Xie a month ago"
Her hands shaking as he held onto the box. "From Xie Xie?"
Entering her room, Mu Xi started at the box. She was afraid of what was inside. However, she still opened it, inside was a beautiful red silk bow and a small note"
Hugging it tightly she cried as she looked up towards the moon.
"Are you also looking at the moon right now Xie Xie?"
She didn't know why he had suddenly left without explaining but she knew she hadn't been forgotten and that was enough for her.
Her red eyes flared with determination. Next time, he wouldn't be able to run away from her. Next time, she wouldn't let him go. Holding the bow tightly she curled up and cried herself to sleep.

That concludes Mu Xi's character arc for now! I hope you guys enjoyed their relationship building up.
Quick Authors Thoughts:
I just want to clear things up, his father and him won't have a warm and happy relationship. I don't think it would suit the story nor would it make sense. He doesn't know him at all and you can't love someone right away. It will be more of a understanding type of relationship where although the father is gone a lot it's because he's making money for his family. He's more a side character but I made him because it showed a realistic and different type of love compared to the funny and happy family such as Tang Wulin's. Xie Xie has the mind of an adult and understands the complicated relationship they have, and so Xie Xie has respect for his father and some familial love.
