My head was spinning with adrenaline. We had to surprise him but we had no weapons. We could surprise him but would we stand a fight against him? He was armed and would kill us if we attacked from a distance. So many possibilities and very few certainties.
One thing was clear, we had to fight if we wanted to survive.
Scanning the area close to us I could only see kitchen appliances. He was on the opposite side of the room. Between us were two long cooking stations that were in the middle of the room, they were separated by a narrow corridor. On one side there was an opening on the wall to serve the meals and on the other doors to the fridge and food pantry.
