More survivors?

''I can't believe it's him.'' I say quietly, while lifting Avery up for carrying him to the, so called, 'care-station', Carmen and Diana somehow created.

''Me neither.'' Finnegan nods slowly and we walk in silence back to the centre of this city.

Is it a city? I don't know.

After spending my whole life in a protected society without having the fear of losing a lot, this is not comparable.

The feeling that something is to terribly wrong and it is more like a nightmare you want to wake up from keeps chasing you.

It grows and grows until it is nearly eating you up.

But what should I do?

When we arrive at the station after a bit if time, I lie Avery carefully down on one of the five camp beds, while Carmen and some others join us inside worriedly.

''I don't think so many people should be here-.'' Finn says hesitant and looks at Carmen who just nods agreeingly and gets everyone, but me, Finnegan and herself out of the station.

''This is a miracle.'' The girl gasps and sits down on the other side of the camp bed.

I mean, Avery's her cousin, she has every right to be here.

''You think there are more survivors?'' I ask carefully while Finn who is next to me frowns about that.

''I don't know to be honest.'' Carmen sighs sadly, checking on Avery's heart beat and if he is breathing correctly.

''This is all so fucked up.'' Finn shakes his head while looking down at Avery again.

It is silence the next few minutes.

''Why isn't he waking up?'' I break this silence whereupon Carmen bites her lip, not saying anything for the next seconds.

''Carmen?'' I ask again.

''Why isn't he waking up?'' I repeat myself with nervous tone in my voice.

The girl looks at me and Finn shortly before speaking up shakily.

''I- I think he's either in some kind of coma or he is 'just' unconscious for an unknown amount of time and-.'' She tries to explain but Finnegan interrupts her rudely.

''Did you say 'just'?!''

Don't make it worse dude, don't make it worse.

''I can't tell how long it will take until he wakes up.'' Carmen finishes and stands up, letting go of Avery's hand which she has been holding the entire time.

''Can we do anything?'' I ask and gulp heavily when the girl shakes her head.

''Just try to talk to him, that helps sometimes.'' The girl sighs and glances at Avery.

''You are certain that works? I only saw that in movies.'' Finnegan mumbles and Camy groans, obvioulsy already annoyed and stressed from all of that.

''I said it helps sometimes.'' She hisses before leaving me, Finn and Avery alone.

''And what now?'' I raise an eyebrow, remembering the old times when everything was still normal.

''I honestly don't know.'' Finnegan shrugs and leans back in the chair he is sitting in.

''What if... he won't wake up?'' I ask quietly and the shorter one glares at me.

''I'm trying to not think about that right now so let's just say he will wake up and at least know how he came here.'' Finn sighs and I nod as response.

After another five minutes, Carmen walks back inside, holding something like a cup with water in her hands.

''Are you guys gonna stay here until something happens or what's the plan?'' Cramen asks with a weak smile and puts the cup on the ground before she grabs after a tissue in her pocket and starts to make it wet.

''I guess so.'' I answer and shrug, not really in the mood for talking.

''Yeah.'' Finn agrees and sighs loudly.

Looks like no one here is in a good mood.

''Okay then. I'll come back tomorrow, but if you need me earlier, just one of you knock on my door loudly.'' Carmen glances at both of us before she leaves.

''Guess we have to wait now.'' I sigh and my company nods slowly, apparently thinking about everything.

''Carmen said talking, or something else, could help?'' He shrugs and I try to think of something to say.

''I actually have an idea...'' I start.

''Finn! I swear to god don't you fucking dare!'' I yelled loudly when Finnegan held up my phone, the chat between me and Kaitlyn opened on it.

''What's your problem Ad's? Aren't you tall enough?'' Finn laughed and began to run a little, whereupon I followed him fastly.

''Oh come on guys,'' Av, who was sitting on the ground, sighed and looked at us before also standing up.

''I thought you both were here the oldest?'' He added and laughed.

''Aidan might be the oldest, but only physically.'' Finn hit me playfully and I push him a little.

''Shut up, Grayson.'' I rolled my eyes, but joined the laughing a few seconds later.

''Looks like I'm the one with the most brain cells here.'' Av shrugged and grinned widely, bowing down a bit.

''Did you count them or what?'' Finn raised an eyebrow, looking at Avery who crossed his arms while shaking his head like he wasn't believing what he just heard.

''I know without counting that I have the most brain cells here.'' He answered and I snorted when I saw Finn's look in his face. Which was like: 'Did I just get cancelled?'

''Anyway, you guys wanna come over at mine? My parents are gone for the weekend.'' I offered and Finn shrugged while nodding.

''My Dad doesn't care, which is chill, so I'm in.'' The boy said and if I wouldn't have known it better, I'd have thought he looked kind of sad about that fact.

''That's not chill, it's sad.'' Avery raised an eyebrow again but Finnegan just rolled his eyes at him.

''I'm used to it.''

I sighed and looked at Avery, waiting for an answer.

''I have to ask my parents first, give me a second.'' The boy put out his phone, calling one of his parents I thought.

''Could I stay at Aidan's tonight?'' He began, obvioulsy annoyed by what his Dad or Mom was saying.

''I-- yes. I know that mo-- no. I won't-- Dad! WHY would I do that?!... Okay- yeah. Thanks, bye.'' Avery ended the call, groaning loudly in annoyance.

''What wouldn't you do?'' Finn laughed and I joined in.

''Nothing.'' Avery shook his head before we began to walk at mine.

•Flashback end•

''I almost forgot about that.'' Finn sighs and I nod slowly.

''Yeah...it just was the first thing which came up in my mind.'' I shrug and see how Av isn't even moving a tiny centimetre. It is like he is made out of stone.

''I think I also have something.'' Finnegan suddenly says and gulps before he starts.

•Flashback•

We three were on our way to school, or more away from it for ditching school, when Aidan suddenly got the idea of sneaking into the theatre.

Because, why not?

''You sure that's a good idea?'' Avery got visibly a bit nervous.

That happens when you were raised well.

''It's not like you'll die from it.'' Ad's smirked and I grinned a bit, noticing how Avery got a bit red because of that statement.

''I- I know. Let's go then.'' Av stood straight and followed me and Aidan into the theatre, where we planned on sneaking into a movie for 16+ while we were 14, 15 and 15.

Which, if we would have get caught, wouldn't have ended well.

''What's this movie anyways?'' I asked while sitting down in the back row next to the others.

''I dunno, some random one I guess.'' Aidan shrugged and leaned back. Holding some popcorn in his hands.

We all talked a while before the movie started and after the ad the screen appeared with the intro of some second part of a horror movie. I got lucky that I watched the first one a few days ago.

''Wait, we are watching a movie we don't know the first part from?'' Avery asked confused and I grinned at Aidan, knowing that he was apparently the only one who didn't watch the first movie.

''You're the only one who didn't watch the first one.'' I laughed and focused on the movie again.

''Evil.''

We were in the middle of the movie when suddenly a scene in a library happened where one guy was attacking the other one with something like a knife. Was it a knife? I didn't pay much attention.

''That dude's gonna die.'' Aidan laughed a bit too loud, several people turning around to us.

''Can you shut up?'' One women asked while I had to avoid another snort.

''How about...no?'' Ad's answered, whereupon the women grabbed some popcorn and threw it at him.

''Looks like Ad's finally gets something sweet on him!'' I almost yell and we immediately pissed off the entire theatre.

''Shush!'' He threw some popcorn at me and Avery groaned, knowing that wouldn't end well.

''You little shit!'' Aidan mocked me and it went on until we got kicked out of the theatre.

''You guys are idiots.'' Av sighed and wiped some popcorn out of his hairs while we were walking home.

''You knew that already.'' I laughed and Aidan gave me agreeingly a high five.

''True.''

•Flashback end•

''That was like...ages ago.'' Aidan sighs and I look at him.

''I know.'' I nod slowly while yawning a little, because I'm quite tired from the circumstances.

''You can take a nap if you want. I'll pay attention to Avery.'' He recognizes my yawn, but I just shake my head.

''I'm fine.''

''Please?''

I sigh and stand up carefully before I lie down at the other camp bed.

After a few moments, I fall asleep.

•••

I wake up from a noise like yelling and sit up straight fastly, looking around in confusion.

''Finn! Get your ass here!'' Aidan suddenly shouts and I stand up for walking over to him, but stop when I see what Aidan means.

''Wait what-?'' I ask confused, seeing how Avery was somehow also awake now.

''He didn't talk much yet though,'' Aidan looks at the ground again.

''He also doesn't remember anything...not even us or anyone else.''

I feel how my heart beat stops for a moment, while what Aidan just said, still tries to get into my mind.

''What?'' I sit down next to him and start to worry at least a bit.

''Ask him something.'' He shrugs unmotivated and I look at Avery, who just stares into the nothing.

This is gonna get complicated.
