4: Life’s Dilemmas

Ty's POV

Me and Kathy start heading over to Dave's house.

"What were you talking about earlier to Stella? I know it's none of my business, but you were apologizing to her about something..."

"Oh, we just got in a little argument earlier before she left. I was getting up in her business and she got annoyed. But it really wasn't my place..."

I sighed, "well you just care a lot about her, it's understandable."

"She's such a sweet person. She cares so much for people, obviously even for those who don't deserve it... but all she wants is to feel loved and important, because all she does is do and give for others all the time. She loves too easily and in return she ends up getting hurt. It hurts me to see her like this. She really does deserve so much better. She just doesn't know how to let herself have the good because she's only experienced mediocre."

Stella is such a strong person. It makes me want to get to know her more... there's just something so different about her.

We finally get to the dicks place and Kathy knocks aggressively on the door.

There was no answer, so she knocked repeatedly until he answered.

"What?!" He said as he swung open the door looking angry and annoyed.

"Sup chump." Kathy says starting to barge into his place.

"What're you doing here and with him?" He says as we walk by him into his place.

"Well let's just say we didn't like seeing Stella come home the way she did."

Kathy is walking around and looking at things curiously as she speaks. She picks up a baseball bat and scoops up a bra, dangling it in front of him.

"I'm guessing this isn't Stella's." She says and then dropping it all to the floor with a clatter.

She looked at the place one last time with a disgusted look. He really was a pig.

"So we'll say this once and you'll do as you're told." She said walking back to the door then turning around to face him.

"Stay the hell away from her."

She went to leave, but he grabbed her wrist yanking her back to face him.

"Listen here bitch, you think you can just barge into my place and demand me to stay away from my girlfriend? You're no one to demand these things of me or her."

She yanks her hand back and rubs her wrist trying to soothe it.

"You know, you're right, I am no one, but I sure as hell am her roommate, her best friend and her sister. I take care of the people I love unlike you, jackass."

I watch as he lifts his hand to backhand her and she flinches back preparing for the hit that never came. I grab his hand before he could do anything and shoved him back. I was fuming more now then ever before. Who was this guy?!

"You know, I'm getting really sick and tired of you treating people like total shit!"

"You just can't stay out of my way can you? You know what you can have her. We all know why Stella wanted to go to the bar the other night anyways. How long have you two been at it huh?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I know you've been seeing Stella!"

"I barely know her! Besides you literally whore around with whoever you want all the time and you think you feel justified in acting like this?"

He smirks at me, "how's she in bed?"

Anger flooded all my sense and before either of us knew it I punched him as hard as I could square in the face. I heard a crack and watched him stumble backwards with hands covering his nose as blood was streaming down his chin.

"I should've done that last night when you first asked for it." I shook my hand out and gently grabbed Kathy's arm to lead her out the door.

"Let's go. He's not worth this much attention anyways."

Stella's POV

I wake up slowly to feel the warmth of someones arms tighten around me. I don't remember falling asleep next to anyone, but it sure is nice for a change.

I shift a little to get a more comfier position, then finally realize I'm not alone. I sit up and look over my shoulder to find of all people, Ty sleeping cozily next to me.

I suddenly stand up waking him up in the process. "What're you doing here?" I say a little irritated and slightly creeped out. He looks up at me through squinting eyes and starts to groggily sit up on the couch.

"Relax, I was here with Kathy when the whole Dave the dick fiasco happened and I wanted to make sure you were alright after it happened. I fell asleep." He rubs his hand down his face and then through his hair. He sure does look good after just waking up.

I huff in exasperation. "Well, I'm alright now, thank you."

He smiles softly at me and then continues to sit quietly, starring straight ahead. "I hope I didn't snore or drool on you." I finally say breaking the pleasant silence. I start to twiddle my thumbs nervously waiting for his response.

He chuckles lightly and looks at me with a knowing smirk. Oh hell.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" I say while covering my face with embarrassment.

He laughs a little more and takes my hands from my face, "it's fine, I'm just giving you a hard time. You don't snore, but you did drool... What were you dreaming about?" He smirks at me when asking the question.

Honestly I can't remember the last time I dreamed. I just shook my head and chuckled lightly.

"Did you and Kathy do anything while I was sleeping?" I asked crossing my arms and looking at Ty more seriously.

Heaving a sigh, Ty runs his hands through his hair once more, "um yeah, we went and had a little chat with Dank."

"His name is Dave." I say with a pointed look.

"Whatever."

"What did you guys talk about?"

"It doesn't matter, we basically told him to never talk to you again and just leave you alone."

I was shocked. I wasn't exactly expecting that, but I mean I wasn't sure what to expect. I was a little angry though. Do they have any idea how that makes me feel? It makes me feel like I can't fight my own battles. It's not their issue to deal with. It's mine and I don't want them getting in the middle of it.

"You should've stayed out of it and let me handle it." I said my tone getting angrier.

He scoffed, "oh cuz you handled it so well."

I looked at him in shock. "You know, it was a rough moment. I just wanted to be with my friends after what happened. I wasn't asking for you to fix anything on my behalf!"

"Well you didn't need to ask. Your friends wanted to help you out!"

"Well, you can help me out by not dealing with my issues for me. It makes me feel incompetent. They're not your issues to deal with."

"You know, we clearly care about you enough to help you out with whatever is going on in your life. It's not some burden for us. Let people help you. Life is harder when you have to do it all yourself."

We sat there in silence pondering what was just said.

Breaking the silence he finally stood up from the couch, grabbing his bag and slipping his shoes on. "Gets some rest, I'll see ya around."
