CH 2 New Family?

Project G.O.D.S. February 4th Year xx14, Lab 'Genesis', Main Conference Room

A smartly dressed man in a navy-blue suit was reading details of a certain project displayed on the holographic screen. The target of the project was a naked boy in a giant glass capsule filled with glowing green gel. He was undergoing various physical and psychological tests on the video being displayed along with the report. The man then turned to a team of scientists who were standing behind him.

"So, if I am getting this right, then despite all the money I have invested over the years and providing you with all the various advanced military provided technology, you have never produced another viable subject of Project G.O.D.S apart from the one over there? Moreover, all your failures had vastly varied abilities rather than having similar abilities. Hence, from my perspective, all you have achieved is nothing more than a random empowered mutation of Abilities in them. I can't believe I spent tens of billions over this."

"Sir, please" the head scientist pleaded "We still have many successful tests made on the kid. We have boosted the Ability to have the highest amounts of latent blooming potential. As we demonstrated, Subject Rudra has the highest displayed potential ever to be considered a Super-Soldier unmatched by any other. Based on the limited information of Subject Shiva you provided us, this was the best that could be done. As the first successful artificial Inhuman to be produced, Surely the creation of Subject Rudra counts as a positive result?"

"Of course, I won't deny that," the Well-dressed man said, and the scientists started to have a relieved expression on their faces "Therefore I will give you all a painless and swift death."

Before the scientists could gather their wits, the man had already raised his palm towards them "Tachyon Pulse!" by the time he had finished saying that, the scientist's eyes had already become blank as they slowly collapsed one after another. They had all died before they even realized it.

"Sigh, it turns out it was all for nothing my sweet child" the man in the navy suit sighed as a girl in her teens shimmered into existence next to him, as if by magic. She gently wrapped her arms around him and put her chin on his shoulder.

"Its okay dad, I don't mind that I don't have a 'Human' body. My ability technically makes me immortal in a way so we should be grateful for that right? My Innate Skill 'Nano-Tech God' is one of the X-Rank Innates. There is always a price to be paid to have such an unmatched ability. Plus we were forced to be not able to reveal the existence of the Inhumans publically, otherwise, we would have probably been able to attract even more advanced minds to our project."

"Anyway, I have already got the information that one of our previously destroyed bases was visited by the agents of the World Inhuman Council. Though they have no idea that it is linked to us, if we keep working on the project we will get caught sooner or later. It is time the Project GODS is shut down for good. Rather than risking our lives for an ephemeral hope, I would rather live out the rest of my life the way I am. I am happy just to be with you so you don't need to worry dad."

"Alright sweety," the man said finally and let out a deep breath before concentrating energy in one hand. Since his daughter had decided, he would no longer keep working on this project. Just as he was about to release a stronger version of the Tachyon Pulse to wipeout the facility, a rapid beeping sounded out of the speaker of the conference hall.

"What now?" the man frowned and before he could check it out, he heard a soft gasp from his daughter.

"What is it, Shiva? Are you okay?" he extinguished his ability and turned to his daughter. He found that she was looking at the holo-tablet that was monitoring the details of the Subject Rudra.

"Dad looks," she pointed at the Holo-Screen that clearly showed Subject Rudra twitching and moving slightly in the glass capsule. His hands were weakly trying to move in the high-density restoration gel i.e. the green glowing gel in the capsule. This should have been impossible as Rudra was an 'Artificial Inhuman' created from the dead body of a normal human kid. He should technically have no consciousness or psyche.

"Dad, I think we over-stepped into the boundaries of the gods unknowingly while working on project GODS." Shiva said softly as she stared at Rudra without blinking "Dad, we can't kill him. I think we should adopt him as my little brother."

"Alright, we will do as you say. I started this project GODS for you in the first place. If you want to keep the result of this project than I have no objection." The man in the navy suit smiled softly before calling out to the A.I. that ran the place "Administrator, unlock the Project GODS chief experimental being, Subject Rudra."

[Welcome Dr. Lochlain, your orders have been carried out. Subject Rudra is now unsealed. Recommended to have Human presence in the vicinity during first unsealing. Dr. Lochlain is advised to be in the vicinity of Subject Rudra before the Opening of Restoration Capsule commences.]

"Shall we go and see the boy, my dear?" Dr. Vishwakarma turned to his daughter and asked.

"Of course dad lets go! I wanna see my new little brother as soon as possible."

As my eyes opened, all I could see was dim green light everywhere around me. There was some kind of mask covering my mouth and nose so I could breathe easily, but moving my arms and legs or even turning my head was difficult. I could feel a very dense gel-like substance covering my whole body and My long hair floated straight up like some ghastly apparition.

'I guess the transmigration was successful. However the so-called Administrator God didn't tell that he will be giving me a kid's body. From what I can sense this feels like the body of a kid of 9-10 years old. Hmm, oh well can't complain much. At least I am alive and well, and as far as I can sense from my body I seem to be very fit. Now, if only I can know where am I and why does my body feel heavy and sluggish.'

Thinking as much Rudra closed his eyes and tried to recall what God had told about the transmigration. He remembered that he would gain the memories of the previous owner of the body. He tried to recall the memories of the body and was surprised by what he found. The body did have memories and he could recall them with startling clarity but he had no idea of who he was i.e. the identity of the body. All his memories had were basic information about Inhumans and that he was a successful test subject of a certain experimental project.

The Basic information about Inhumans made him aware that there were mortals and Inhumans in this world since as long as recorded history knows. Mortals were mostly kept in the dark about the existence of Inhumans and even the bits of pieces that leaked were dumbed down in the form of ludicrous rumors and fantasy stories.

The World Inhuman Council, which safeguarded the divide between mortals and Inhumans, was responsible for turning whatever information about Inhumans that the mortals got into baseless rumors. They were also the ones that watched over the true world of the Inhumans and had their agents in the shadows of the world of mortals. But he did not know of the true world of Inhumans, that knowledge and surprisingly most general and common knowledge were missing from his mind.

'Well, that is a little bit strange. However, I think I can guess why it is so. Most likely those who were in charge of this experiment needed a blank mind. Therefore other than extremely basic knowledge I don't have anything.'

Just as he was thinking what to do next, a thin board of plastic-like material emerged from the floor. Once it had grown up to the size that slightly exceeded his body, thin shackles made of the same material emerged from the board and swiftly yet securely bound him to the board. As soon as he was shackled, the glowing green gel rapidly drained out of the capsule.

Within a minute, all of the gel had been drained and the capsule opened. In front of the capsule, he saw a middle-aged yet imposing man dressed in a navy suit, staring at him with an indifferent gaze. Next to him was a cute girl in her late teens, looking at him with unconcealed curiosity.

"Will you be able to walk?" the man asked in an imposing tone. Rudra was startled by the deep voice full of authority and nodded instinctively.

"Administrator, unseal Subject Rudra completely!" the man called out. The next moment, Rudra's shackles were freed and he slid down the plastic-like board and landed on the floor with a thud. Though Rudra's body was supposed to be a young kid, he was surprised by the power which was brimming up in him.

As soon as his feet touched the floor, his body recovered its balance and form. He could feel that his current body was even stronger than his previous body at its prime. One should know that due to his various pursuits, Rudra in his previous world was as strong as ten men and had learned a variety of martial arts. Yet he felt that his previous body would be easily defeated by his current one within ten seconds.

"Follow me, let's get you dressed, and then we will be leaving this place." The man said "Oh, by the way, my name is Dr. Vishwakarma Lochlain and this is my daughter Shiva Lochlain. We will be your new family."

Saying as much the man turned around to leave, and his daughter Shiva followed after a last curious gaze at Rudra. Seeing as they treated him as if he was a puppet, Rudra felt indignant.

"Wait!" he called out and they turned around in surprise. Perhaps they never thought he had enough persona to think for himself.

"What is it?" this time the girl asked in a curious voice.

"Won't you ask for my name ?" Rudra said defiantly. Both the Father and daughter were surprised at this.

"Do .. Do you know your name? Or more accurately, Do you have a name?" the girl asked.

"Yes I do," Rudra said with pride in his voice "My name is Rudra Jokaen." Rudra declared under the surprised gazes of the father-daughter duo.
